Coming attractions: the final week

beautiful sexy hot man

It's the last Coming Attractions and he is definitely an attraction and he is definitely asking you to come a little closer (and a little closer - and a little harder...) and because this is the last time I get to deluge your screen with gratuitously beautiful men, one just isn't enough.

beautiful sexy hot man
Speaking of deluges, we've long had a thing for wet men. Kristina Lloyd started it and I blame her for my corruption.

On Monday, Kristina Lloyd and Mathilde Madden are back: erstwhile Lusties, and now the Biceps Bitches, to lavish you with man candy and make the (amazingly controversial) case for more of it.

From my relish for skinny boys, Kristina reminded me of the bliss of brawn, and has finally explained to me the appeal of submission. (It's not about the bared arse, it's about the man looming over it.)

So here's an extra brute for her ... and here's an even compromise.

beautiful sexy hot manbeautiful sexy hot man

And here's a little extra for all of us, because four isn't enough - sometimes you need five.

beautiful sexy hot men

beautiful sexy hot manOn Wednesday, Kate Pearce asks the hard questions (like Jeremy Paxman, but with more random gleaming torsos and rippling six-packs) and gets the Lusties low-down on our time here.

And on Friday, it's closing time and Olivia Knight draws the final curtain: we'll be leaving our forwarding addresses, splashing our blogs and websites around, (adding a few more gratuitous naked men no doubt), kissing, wiping away tears, making thank you speeches, and towards the end of the evening and the farewell-champagne getting really honest about our feelings and sobbing "I love you guys, no really, I do - no really, you need to understand this..."

Okay, it's getting sad. Time for another naked man.

beautiful sexy hot man

And in case he's too sensitive for your tastes, here's someone more brutish who definitely doesn't have poetry on his mind.

beautiful sexy hot man
"...the hinted at, the unseen, decaying lilies, seedy alleyways, and the catch in his voice when he says ‘Suck it, bitch.’" - Kristina Lloyd

We've looked at a lot of men over the last two years. We have littered our posts with gratuitous photos. So I leave you with this last plea, from our prisoner in the Lust Bites dungeons, the man himself:

beautiful sexy hot man

I'm trying to... really I am... Damn.

Last competition winners!

For the 101 Sexy Dares launch, Laura Corn's Waaay Too Much Fun Package, goes to Angell for the sexiest-written dare of the lot. As your editor I'm going to request a rewrite making it possible for non-plumber-men, but this was a scorching vision. Send your address to knight [dot] olivia [at] gmail [dot] com for your hamper.

I dare you to leave the briefs at home, along with your sense of propriety. I dare you to go on every call today, with the thought of fucking me in your head. I dare you to smile naughtily at every housewife, every maid, every woman that answers the door, as if you have a secret you'd love to tell her. I dare you to rub yourself discretely to keep yourself hard, and pop your button every time you lie down to fix it. And while lying under those sinks, while snaking their pipes and twisting their nuts, while your hard cock presses against the zipper that's dying to bust open, I dare you to keep control.

And a copy of Pam Rosenthal's book, The Edge of Impropriety, goes to Caffey - send your details to contactme [at] katepearce [dot] com.

Coming attractions: the final countdown

The Big News: It's time to take a break.

^ This week's sporting highlight ^

On 5 December 2008, Lust Bites is going to draw to a graceful close and flop on the sofa with that man, after exactly two years of relentless, tireless, selfless and dedicated smuttery, wittery, and endless gratuitous photos.

Before you break down completely, there's still one whole month left of smart sexy posts and beautiful men ~ so that means more Crush Wednesdays, at least two more competitions including some sexy dares and a chance to win a veritable hamper of Laura Corn, a final smut slot, and another 12 posts from all your favourite Lusties - Portia da Costa, Madeline Moore, Erastes, Kate Pearce, Olivia Knight, Janine Ashbless, Madelynne Ellis, Deanna Ashford, Jamaica Layne, Edie Bingham - not to mention a flying visit from those erstwhile Lusties and BICEPS promoters, Kristina Lloyd and Mathilde Madden. So plenty to look forward to before we leave you with our forwarding addresses on 5 December. For example, in the week ahead...

On Monday, Portia da Costa gives our US readers a chance to finally get In Too Deep.

On Wednesday, Madeline Moore announces the winners of the Halloween competition, with a whopping hamper for the scariest, sexiest snippet.

On Friday, Erastes releases Frost Fair, her latest homoerotic love (in a cold climate).

Forlorn male models seeking comfort in each other's arms as they realise they'll never feature as a Lust Bites Lust Bite Of The Week.

So now, perhaps, you'll join me and this very beautiful and incidentally almost-naked angel-man in a hymn:

There'll be one more blog in the heavens,
One more site in the skies ~
Lust Bites we're all gonna miss you,
Your smut-slots, your half-naked guys...
There'll be one less blog in our bookmarks,
One less glint in our eyes ~
But Lust Bites, the things that you stood for,
Like, "Men look hot" never die...

All together now!

In the meantime ... COMPETITION WINNERS!

Lil, you are our winner of a free signed copy of MARKET FOR LOVE! Please email jamaicalayne[at]yahoo[dot]com with your mailing address so she can get you your signed copy out.

Crystal and Craig - you have both won a copy of THE NEW RAKES, so please send your addresses to nikki[dot]magennis[at]googlemail[dot]com

Congratulations all!

Coming attractions

At last I'm dragging my eyes away from this man, to say...

On Monday, I'll be rampaging with my favourite Alpha Females - heroines who are not merely "independent" but kicking ass and ruling the world, often literally.

On Wednesday, Nikki Magennis is crushing musicians - or on musicians - with her new rakes.

Also,Wednesday is the last day to enter our Halloween Giveaway contest. Write a 200 word (maximum) spooky, scary story and win big! Scroll down or click on the link above for all the details.

On Thursday, Lust at First Bite is released...

...and on Friday, Janine Ashbless showcases it in style.

Competition winner! Kammie wins a copy of Simply Sinful - please email Kate at contactme [at] katepearce [dot] com with your snail mail. And if you were hoping to win and didn't - give yourself the prize!

Coming attractions

beautiful wet man looking into the oceanby Olivia Knight

Last week's wet men notwithstanding, this may be the most beautiful image ever to grace the Lust Bites blog (and we don't hold back with our gratuitous photos). Speaking of backs and holding - mmm...

(Perhaps I'm biased. This is almost exactly how I imagine Sir Thomas from "The Three Riddles" in Enchanted, though not featured in his armour here. Or perhaps any woman in her right mind and half the world's men would look at that back and whimper with longing.)

On Monday, Erastes continues the Bluffer's Guide series with her Guide to Gay Historicals. (See image, right.)

On Wednesday, Kate Pearce looks at finishing books - those final details, the letting go, and what to do when you've finished and are sitting folornly staring at the walls. (For ideas, see image, right.)

On Friday, Portia da Costa gets In Too Deep (as in image, right) with her latest UK release.

Competition winners

Miss Trixie, for your explanation of why wet men are so hot, you win your choice of Enchanted, Southern Spirits, or Phantasmagoria - send your snail mail details and your choice to knight [dot] olivia [at] gmail [dot] com.

CC you win a copy of Wildwood - send your snail mail details to janineashbless [at] fsmail [dot] net

Everyone else, you can award yourself prizes for your own brilliance! Just click on the cover of your choice.

Coming attractions

Naked man? Tick. Good biceps? Tick. Plenty of water? Tick. M/m kiss? Tick. All together: holy Santa Maria madre del dio, I am too good to you.

Naked men kissing in the sea

This week, we're...

Putting the come back in coming attractions!
Putting the vision back in television!
Putting the man back in romance!
Putting the ngs back in Fine Young Things...
... putting Olivia back in her cage.

On Monday, Madeline Moore discusses writing for TV. (Putting the TV back in... no, hold on.)

On Wednesday, Erastes crushes on Fine Young Things (within the confines of the law, naturally).

On Friday, we get What Katy Did at RWA. (Putting the hat back in what.) Kate Pearce details the revels, ribaldry and risquérrie at the Romance Writers Association annual conference.

Competition Winners

Kristina Lloyd wins a copy of Magic and Desire for her cunning explanations of Monday's riddles ~ entirely wrong, but entertaining nonetheless! You know how to contact me, baby... knight [dot] olivia [at] gmail [dot] com.
Magdalune wins a copy of Wildwood, and the fairy tale collection Enchanted goes to the fittingly-titled Tumperkin. You can both send your snail mail details to janineashbless [at] fsmail [ dot] net.

And for those who didn't win but feel you should have, you can award yourself prizes here:

Coming attractions

sexy picture with LegolasThis week, we delve deep into the imagination - the places it happens, the places it can take you, and the places it comes from.

On Monday, Janine Ashbless teases out the fickle creature of inspiration: where we find him, what we can do to lure him, and what to do when he just won't damn well bloody return our phone calls, the bastard! Blood sacrifices, roses in jars, and long hot showers may feature.

On Wednesday, Olivia Knight launches herself into the past, present, and future with her beloved Doctor - a crush Wednesday on the omnihot Doctor Who.

On Friday, Olivia Knight again, tireless/obsessively-talkative creature that she is, paves the way for next week's celebration of Enchanted, the erotic fairy-tale collection. When fairy tales were still sexist misogynist Barbie-Cinderalla bollocks, a host of feminist writers opened the floodgates for us to create the intense, mythic, and very sexy fairy tales of contempory Black Lace. Anyone want to see Byatt's naughty bits?

Competition winners!

Winner of a copy of Amorous Woman - Dennis Mahagin
Winner of ebook of Night Moves 1 - Lamentesse

Congratulations both of you. Contact erastes [at] erastes [dot] com (no spaces) with your postal details to claim your prize.

Coming Attractions

by Janine Ashbless

It's going to be a week of mystery and revelation here on Lust Bites.

On Monday we will be in the mysterious East (okay, I know, shoot me - but I needed a segue). Our friend Donna George Storey, author of Amorous Woman, will be here and with a little help from Jeremy Edwards (!) will be telling us all about those Japanese Love Hotels with the themed rooms. Heh heh heh ... I wonder if there is such a thing as an Spartan Room?

On Wednesday Madelynne Ellis will be posting but the subject matter is currently a secret!

And on Friday we have our lovely Smut Slot, this month featuring a delicious excerpt from Chiaroscuro by Erastes. "Chiaroscuro" (I had to look it up) is an art word suggesting contrasts of light and dark, and what is half-revealed. So I'm sure Erastes will thoroughly approve of the picture above.

Have a lovely week! I'm spending mine looking after a Great Dane. Sadly I don't mean Viggo Mortensen.

xxx

Janine

Erotic Haiku Winners

by Olivia Knight

Masses of thanks to everyone who deluged us with their pithy, hot haikus for the Midsummer Erotic Haiku Competition. Predictably, with 87 poems to choose from, the judges waved wine glasses and shouted a lot, but we agreed on a few things. Firstly, that erotic haikus should...

• be formally impeccable
• condense as much as possible, without wasting a single syllable
• suggest a landscape of story behind their few words
• evoke strong sensory experiences

pictures of prize books

We also agreed on a winner (although not what she won for!), but beyond that, opinions varied wildly - and strongly. Poetry is a very personal choice - so rather than pick at random from the short list, we've decided to recognise that, and recognise all the haikus that struck us in the solar plexus, or slightly lower down. Accordingly, second and third prizes have been divvied up, with an extra copy of Magic and Desire thrown in, for the seven runner-up prizes...

Runner-up prizes
• 3 copies of Magic and Desire by Portia da Costa, Janine Ashbless, and Olivia Knight
• 2 copies of Southern Spirits by Edie Bingham
Gothic Heat by Portia da Costa
Phantamagoria by Madelynne Ellis

pictures of prize books

And the runners up, in alphabetical order, are...

Amanda, for making us twinge with hurts-but-good bliss and making our pink bits hot and cold at the same time:

cool summer relief
a banana cocksicle
cherry cunt ice cream

anon at 2:42am, for being so contrary & wrapping it up in so little space:

My flesh red and raw
My pleasure bound up in pain
Happy is my heart.

Kammie, for making us lean back lazily in the heat, spread our legs, and lick our lips:

Summer flesh exposed
Plentiful, available
Lick a little peach

magdalune, for capturing that intensely intimate moment of indecision and instruction, and the ecstasy hot on its heels:

Such lovely cheeks. No -
Not there. Here. And between them.
You writhe in pleasure.

pictures of prize books

Maryanne Stahl, for two reasons, both of them sensory in the very literal sense, making our skin feel and our tongues taste:

Crisp white linen sheets
Your lips, neck, shoulders, open thighs
You taste of warm salt

Rain in pine forest
We fall to the sodden ground
Dripping everywhere

tls, for giving us an entire personality dynamic, and for the line break between "Your cock is a thing" and "of beauty"

Your cock is a thing
of beauty. The one reason
I'll get on my knees.

... and venivincere, for the love, the m/m, and giving us the sensation not only of having cocks, but having a cock and someone else's against it:

Love makes one of two:
Grinding velvet cock on cock
Melds with searing come.

pictures of prize books

The winner gets a stupefying 9 books, so perhaps it's fair that we ended up awarding them for two different haikus - both on the top of our lists, and both - as it turned out - by the same person: Eden Hail, who thought poetry wasn't her cup of tea. Eden gets... • Magic and Desire by Portia da Costa, Janine Ashbless, and Olivia Knight • Southern Spirits by Edie Bingham • Gothic Heat by Portia da Costa • Phantamagoria by Madelynne Ellis • Chilli Heat by Carrie Williams • Standish by Erastes • Hotbed by Portia da Costa • Amanda’s Young Men by Madeline Moore... and • Cruel Enchantment by Janine Ashbless

Prize books on a bench in a midsummer garden

Each haiku was a picture in considerably less than 1000 words. The first, a post-coital snapshot, gives enough material for a week of bed-time fantasies as you play out the story of what went before, building up to the final moment of photorealism:

paint stuck in her hair
Charcoal smudged on her fair cheek
Sated nude model

The second combined two different sense-images: touch and sound: intense touch of cold hard tiles; sound of cries rising and ringing around the ceramics. Another story offers itself in the background, of course - why they're there...

Your body behind
Pushes me onto cool tiles
Echoes grow louder

All winners, please email your snail-mail details to knight [dot] olivia [at] gmail [dot] com so I can send you your books. Runners-up, let me know which book you'd prefer, and I'll do what I can to see you get it (no promises, mind!) And for those who didn't win, you can award yourself a prize by following the links to Amazon...

Magic and Desire by Portia da Costa, Janine Ashbless, and Olivia Knight
Southern Spirits by Edie Bingham
Gothic Heat by Portia da Costa
Phantamagoria by Madelynne Ellis
Chilli Heat by Carrie Williams
Standish by Erastes
Hotbed by Portia da Costa
Amanda’s Young Men by Madeline Moore
Cruel Enchantment by Janine Ashbless

Size doesn't matter.

Here's another one:

A dwarf working in a circus as a clairvoyant is believed to have murdered a man and has escaped police custody. Police say there's a small medium at large.

On Monday, Teresa Noelle Roberts considers whether size matters - novels, novellas, short stories - or whether it's what you do with it that counts.

On Wednesday, Erastes opens another medium - the e-book - with the release of her latest novella in Speak its name, an anthology of 3 historical romances. M/M, mmm.

On Friday, we welcome another new member, Tesni Morgan, with over 60 books to her name and still more to come. Stop by to meet and greet our grande dame.

Competition winner! t'Sade's book The Mummy's Girl goes to Ilona - please email contact [at] tsade [dot] com with your details. If you're not Illona, you can still get the book at Lulu.com. To see if you won any previous competitions, check the Competition winners list on the right-hand bar.

Coming Attractions

Here in the UK it has turned warm at last this week - which means sleeping with the duvet thrown back and the window open. Hurray! And if you are me, it means a queen wasp coming in through the window at 6.30am, which is why I got up so damn early on a Sunday.

This week on Lust Bites:

On Monday we meet two new Lusties: Lauren Dane and Megan Hart They write as a team for Black Lace - take a look at their book cover in the left sidebar - and we are delighted to have them on board. Come welcome them on Monday and find out more.

On Wednesday we're having another go at Group Sex - yes, we want you all to stop lurking and show us your writing skills, as we kick off a group story. I'm only giving you one clue in advance: Pirates!

And on Friday Portia Da Costa will be bringing us the Truth About Cats and Dogs - which is that they can't spell, but that that doesn't stop them trying to interfere with the writing process. Writers with pets, have your photos ready!

Competition Winners!!
The three lucky winners of a copy of Magic and Desire are:
Lil : please send your mailing details to janineashbless [at] fsmail [dot] net (no spaces)

Coming Attractions

by Janine Ashbless

It's a lovely sunny day and I'm lying in a field watching half-naked young men running around...

No, sadly, that's not true. It's just one of those dreams you have when it's nearly the end of April and you're wondering why it's still cold and grey out there. Luckily here on Lust Bites we have some things to keep you toasty warm...

On Monday Olivia Knight will be thinking about cocks. Not that she doesn't do that just about all the time, you understand, but she will be considering how we write about them, what synonyms we use, and the phrase we should never use unless we want to be laughed out of the Writers' Club: his throbbing member.

On Crush Wednesday I shall be here to share my enthusiasm for the male stars of Bollywood films, and give you some idea of who to look out for.

And on Friday Portia Da Costa will have a hot excerpt from her re-issued classic novel, Gemini Heat.

Is it just me or is it warm in here?

xxx
Janine

Flash and Win - Winners

By Mathilde Madden

Anyone who read through the entries for Flash and Win - our Valentine's Day Competition - will know what I'm about to say: the standard was incredibly high. Oh yes. There were cat fights and hair pulling like you would not believe backstage when it came to selecting a winner.

So, in the end, I had to ask a naked Brendan Fraser winged messenger to select the winners. And he was happy to oblige. And after that he picked out the winners...

Ah, the tough life of an erotica author blogger

So thanks to Brendan, and in traditional reverse order, third prize goes to:

Leatherdykeuk: Big and Little
There’s frost on the grass but that doesn’t stop you from pushing me
over and jumping on top of me, knocking the wind from my lungs. You’ve
got a huge weight advantage – sixty pounds or more – and you grasp my
wrists, spreading my arms wide. You forgot my legs, asshole. One foot
curls around yours as the other snakes up and over your head. It’s a
simple matter to flip you from there. I dump you on your fat ass and put
you into an arm lock while my other hand fumbles with your zipper. Who’s
the daddy now, fuckface?

Second prize goes to:

Mina Murray: Body Shots
Ritual candles cast a strobing glow on the black granite bench.
You smell like sex and danger.
We wrestle in the half-light, a mass of angry limbs. Taste of tequila
and lime on your tongue. I rub salt into your wounds. You stiffen inside
me: pain sharpens your desire.
Your hands tangle in my hair. Go on, I urge, pull tight.
You bite my throat, exposed to you, proffered.
There'll be a mark tomorrow, and I wish, all of a sudden, for a
fine-tipped pen to scrawl on you, indelibly, the words for what you do
to me.

And our winner:

Busaikko: Homecoming
Last night I fingered myself deep, conjuring your scent and the ghost of
your weight on my skin. Last night I rolled my nipples rough between
thumb and forefinger, remembering your callused hands. Last night's
orgasm was neatly orchestrated, swept into a towel and gone.
Tonight your mouth tastes like peaches, and I can smell the sun in your
hair. You open me and fill me, bite already aching nipples, take me over
the sofa and against the wall. We break the bed again and paint our
bodies with come and spit, and you fall asleep still inside me, home.

Please email us at lustbitesladies [at] yahoo [dot] com to arrange the posting of your prizes.

Huge congratulations to the winners and our sincerest thanks to everyone who entered. It was one of our most successful and fun competitions.

Do you agree with my Brendan's choices. If not, which was your favourite? You could always ask your favourite naked celebrity for his opinion... why should I have all the fun?

Mat x

PS: Stay tuned tomorrow for hot historicals!

Coming Attractions

by Kristina Lloyd
As erotica authors, we’re always telling tales of cock but tomorrow we’re shaking it about about a bit and bringing you cocktails instead! Anne Tourney, your hostess with the mostest, will be swizzling the sticks as lots of Lusties turn up to say hello, drunkenly introduce themselves and have sex on top of the photocopier - just like people with proper jobs do at office Christmas parties.

On Wednesday, Dayle A. Dermatis and Teresa Noelle Roberts do a double act and explore the merry world of sex and humour.

Then it’s double, triple, quadruple and beyond as Olivia Knight sets the ball rolling on Friday for our irregular group sex slot. (Yes, as in 'highly irregular'.) Watch a sexy story unfold before your eyes as writers and bloggers build on each other’s words to create who knows what? Tales of cock, no doubt. Why don't you fix yourself a drink and join us?

Winner of Kate Pearce's Roping the Wind is Ana Aragon. Please send your postal address to us at lustbitesladies at yahoo dot com

Coming Attractions

By Mat Madden

On Monday Janine Ashbless proclaims, I would do anything for smut writing, but I won't do that!

Join her and a gang of Lust Biters for a chat about the things they just can't bring themselves to write about. Squickiness should abound.

You'll have to wait until then to find out my personal writing demons, but I will tell you about one thing I like: big butch beauties. That's why I'm grabbing the crush Wednesday slot to tell you why macho men do it for me.

And on Friday we hand over the reins to prolific Cheek author Michelle M Pillow.

And, woot, here are the results of the Lust Bites anthology super-bumper competition.

Monday's winner
(Lust Bites and Split) is Ally

Wednesday's winner
(Lust Bites and Gothic Blue) is Leeanne

Friday's winner
(Lust Bites and The Silver Collar) is Blackroze37
