Miniture wonders

Hi everyone, Its Dee here with today's post for Polkadoodles Studio 12 range.  I hope you are all looking forward to Christmas.  I have just roused myself into starting the shopping, I'm very late this year *slapped wristies*.  Anyway getting back on track I've made a real cute little wall plaque/tray/hanger/thingy! not really sure what to call it if I'm honest.  This was a little wooden box that had wooden embellishments in it, I've had it knocking round the work room for a couple of years now.  I always knew I would do something with it and inspiration hit yesterday so I hope you like it as much as I do.

I used a few different stamps from the studio 12 and Susan Weckesser studio 12 stamps.  I stamped them onto cream and clear shrink plastic with Stazon ink and coloured them in with Sakura Stardust and Kuratake's Wink Of Stella pens before shrinking them.  They are tiny and really very sweet.  I painted the box with mushroom and light blue acrylic paint then I used scraps of backing papers from the Studio 12 Collection 1 CD in each compartment.  I added a  few odds and ends from my stash to finish it off.

I thought I'd do a pic of it with a ruler so you can see just how small some of the elements are.

Enjoy the holiday season everyone, wherever you are.

Incredible You

Hi everyone it's Dee here with today's Studio 12 post.  It was my partners birthday last week and I wanted to make him a card that wasn't too slushy but said what I thought of him (only good things).  I looked through my rather large stamp collection but nothing jumped out at me till I got to the Polkadoodles Studio 12 stamps, and there I found the perfect stamps for what I wanted.  The circle and heart stamps are firm favourites of mine and the sentiment was just perfect because he is incredible (well most of the time lol).  I also used 2 of the faux stitching stamps and the distressed dogs-tooth stamp which are very useful stamps indeedy.  Red, black and white inkpads with some white embossing powder and kraft card and voila, a special card is created
I hope you like my card, don't forget to come back tomorrow for the Friday challenge and lots of gorgeous inspiration from the Polkadoodles design team.

A bit of Upcycling

Hello everyone Dee here with today's Studio 12 post.  I spent a while mulling over what to make and what to use.  With so many Studio 12 stamps to choose from I was rather spoilt for choice, but in the end I couldn't resist using the Polkadoodles Owl stamp in conjunction with some papers from the Picknix Gingerbread Twist CD.   I had an old paper bag from a high street store that was in my 'useful things to alter box'.  I covered the front with the papers and blended tea dye distress ink round the edges.  I paper pieced the stamp and added a few images from the CD to finish the bag off.
Check back Thursday and Friday for more fabulous creative inspiration from the design team.

Life is much better when you're laughing

Hello all Dee here with today's Studio 12 project.  This is something I did quite some time ago now but I've been holding off till the stamps were back in stock.  Well they are now in stock at last so here is my colourful 12x12 canvas.  There's lots of layers of paint and ink and I used stamps and masks on the canvas to give an overall riot of colour.  These are not my usual colours it has to be said, I always feel far more at home with cool blues and purples, but I wanted this to be happy and to make you smile when you looked at it, hopefully I have achieved that.

All the stamps are Polkadoodles Studio 12 and Susan K Weckesser at Studio 12. I had so much fun making this so I hope you all like it.

Love and hugs

Hi all, it's Dee here with today's post for Studio 12. I used an image from the new mini CD Angelberry Christmas and the papers are from The Studio 12 Gingerbread twist CD.  I printed the image onto vellum, then coloured it in with colouring pencils on the back, which gives it a lovely muted effect.  I inked the edges with a brown chalk ink pad and fixed the vellum panel in place with some small heart brads.
Don't forget to check back tomorrow for the weekly Polka Doodles challenge.

Purple dreams

Hello everyone It's Dee here with a dream box.  Well technically its not a box but a set of drawers but Dreams drawers just doesn't sound as good does it?  It started life as a paper mache piece, I painted it with blue, purple, pearl and green metallic acrylic paints and then over stamped using Staz-on inks in blues and purple.  Now I'm likely to get my wrists slapped by the boss lady, but I've been waiting to show you this for months and I just cant wait any longer, so if you keep quiet about it she may not notice!  The stamps I used are all Studio 12 stamps and I'm really, really sorry for teasing you all as they are out of stock at the moment, but they will be back soon, so keep checking for them.  They are perfect for just about any projects you'd want to do, journaling and altered art especially.  Which reminds me, have you seen the gorgeous stash in the Alterables section of the Polkadoodles shop, I have my eye on the cute house and the birdhouse, they are adorable and I have it all planned out in my head what I'll do with them.
I hope you can forgive me for teasing you, but I have been dieing to show it to you.

Tag your greeting

Hello everyone its Dee here with the post for today.  I have a lovely card for you made with the Studio 12 Picknix 1 CD.  The papers and elements are all from the Welcome Home collection.  The only bits I've added are cardstock, garden twine and small paper roses, and I inked all the edges with a Tea Dye Distress inkpad.  The ribbon and string running across the backing paper are a part of the paper, I simply cut along the edge of the ribbon with a craft knife and slipped my topper under it to make it look like its a separate piece.
As an extra I have a card made with the Polkadoodles Missy stamp set.  Nikky has put this set down to a very special price for a limited time so check it out, it really is a silly price so grab it while you can. The papers are from the Cherry Blossom Lane CD.

Tomorrow sees the new challenge post so make sure you check out all the wonderful makes from the design team.

Studio 12, Welcome...

Hello fellow crafters, today I have a piece of home decor for you all.  I found an inexpensive wooden sign while out shopping, just perfect for a touch of altering.  I painted the sign with acrylic paints and over stamped with Archival Inkpads.  While this dried I used Distress Inkpads and Distress Stains to make a wide variety of coloured inky backgrounds.  I stamped the house, trees, flowers and crowns from the Studio 12 range on the inky backgrounds.  I then over stamped the images with various text stamps from the same range. I cut all the images out and fixed them in place on the sign.  I found some chipboard letters amongst my stash to finish the sign off nicely.
A colourful and happy welcome into anyones home.  I hope you like my sign, I had a lot of fun making this.  Dont forget to check out the Polkadoodles shop for all your crafting needs.
Happy crafting to you all, Dee.

Washing the dust

Good morning everyone. Its Dee here with today's post and I have been naughty and sneaked in a sample made with the new Studio 12 stamps.  If we all keep quiet it may just miss her eagle eyed radar, but then again maybe not lol.  It's all worth it though, so I'll endure the wrath to show you all something made with just a few stamps from this fantastic new range.  I have to say Nikky has some lush goodies in at the moment, just one is the new CD of Emma Cannings digi stamps 'Digistamp Heaven', fabulous value for money.  Think I'd better stop before I get carried away, if you want to see all the new items just click here.

Right, back to today's card (sorry I'm so easily distracted by pretty new things), I wasn't swearing at you with the title, it was part of the Pablo Picasso quote I used.  This card was made with my cousin in mind because she loves words, text and inspirational quotes.  I used the Stamp Slab for my background with liberal dollops of acrylic paints because I wanted lots of interesting texture and movement. The stamps I used are Fanciful Flourish, Road to the City, Shabby Checkers (soo useful) and Washing The Dust Off.  They are on pre-order on the Polkadoodles site at the moment, but do keep an eye open as they are starting to find their way into shops all over the country.
Tomorrow sees the Polkadoodles challenge so pop back to see oodles of inspiration from all the lovely talented DT ladies.

I'm off now to check out the new items section of the Polkadoodles site, I spotted some cool masks while I was sorting the links. I'm doomed, there's no way I'll hold my resolve lol

Flowers Feed The Soul

Hello Crafters, it's Dee here with a cute little canvas for you.  I applied acrylics paints in pinks and greens for the base then added some spots with a pearl paint dabber.  I scribbled round the spots and added some strings of dots with a pink Promarker to add some interest.  The Flower, signpost, sentiment, leafy sprig and backing paper are all from the Studio 12 Heavenly Garden Collection (one of my faves).  Some distress ink round the oval just helps 'lift it off' the canvas background, some bakers twine and buttons just finish the piece off nicely.
Sorry it's a bad picture, but I'm having a few issues with my camera (and bad skills on my part, lol)

Don't forget to check back on Thursday for the next Studio 12 make, and Friday for the Polka Doodles challenge, plenty of inspiration for you all from the uber talented Design Teams.
