To Brighten Your Day
Happy Valentine's Day everyone. Last night I got a new embossing folder so I just had to play with it! This card is for Splitcoaststampers challenges F4A155 and SC423.
The embossing folder was used on tan paper and Sepia Versafine ink was sponged over it.
Three rows of Ah That's Great Tape were place on a strip of dark brown paper. The tape was rubbed back and forth with my finger to create a spiderweb affect. Apricot and Willow mica chips and brown Shattered Glass Glitter were sprinkled on the tape. Blue and Copper Pearl Ex were brushed on.
The rose by Stampendous was stamped using Versafine on tan paper and embossed with blue and gold embossing powders then the edges were sponged with Sepia ink and layered onto light blue and dark brown papers. The sentiment by Stampendous was stamped on light blue paper with Sepia Versafine and layered onto dark brown paper.
Look what got delivered today!!!! I have the best hubby, even after 25 years I get flowers on Valentine's Day :) I love you Paul!

Love
This Valentine's card was made using the glitter and lace techique that I love so much. The heart was cut out of sticker paper using a Sizzix die. The back paper was removed from the sticker paper and lace was placed over the sticky side. Red glitter was then poured on the lace, rubbed in, shaken off and the lace was removed. irredescent glitter was then sprinkled on the heart, rubbed and shaken off.
Love was stamped on a white strip with Versamark ink and embossed with black glitter embossing powder and glue was placed in the heart and sprinkled with glitter. This was then layered on black paper, glued to the heart.
A black panel was stamped with a swirl stamp in two corner, dusted with Pearl Ex and the heart was glued on and it was mounted to a white card. Corner mount stickers were placed in two corners and a key hole sticker was placed diagonally to the corner. A key sticker was placed on acetate, cut out and attached to the "love" strip.

Enjoy

Wow is it windy here in So. California! Our power went out at least twice last night, luckily my husbands alarm has a battery back up so he and the kids got up on time. So today I have decided to stay in side except for one little trip to go pick up my new Stamp In Up catalogue :)
I used a really great technique to make this card. It is quick, easy and looks beautiful! I made the background that I stamped the flowers on, the technique doesn't have a name, I'm open for suggestions :)
1. Cut a piece of sticker paper to the correct size and remove the carrier (the paper covering the sticky part).
2. Take a piece of gold foil (can be purchased at craft stores), crumple it up real good, then open it and lay it on top of the sticky side of the sticker paper with the non-shiny part of the foil down. The foil is on a plastic liner, so after you rub the foil, pull the plastic liner up and off of the sticker paper.
3. The foil will look like marble . So now with a fluffy brush, lightly brush on pink Pearl Ex (also found at craft stores), making sure it completely covers the sticker paper. Wipe off the excess powder with a paper towel and you are done. This makes beautiful background papers and you can try this with all different colors!
4. Stamp you image with black StazOn ink and let dry.
