Not Just Cards Challenge Blog - July Challenge - Anything Goes

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

I hope you are all well and doing okay. We had a lovely day out yesterday. We went to Furzey Gardens on the edge of the the New Forest in Hampshire. We met our friends there and we shared a lovely picnic together as well as getting coffee  in the cafe. It was so lovely to be out and to see some gorgeous plants. I was even able to buy a couple of plants for our garden. This year our garden has become very important to us like it has to many people.

Back to business the July challenge has started at the Not Just Cards Challenge Blog. The theme is the ever popular Anything Goes.

I have a friend who loves Star Trek (so do I). For her birthday I asked my daughter to draw my friend and her husband as characters from the Next Generation series of Star Trek. My daughter obliged. She has been drawing us as Star Trek characters for years. The moon in the background is my own photograph.  The stars I added were made with a die from the Champagne Bottle die set from the John Next Door range.
Our challenges are always fun. Click on the logo and you will be taken to the blog.

When my friend saw the image she was just so thrilled. I have asked my daughter to draw me some Doctor Who themed images. I know people like seeing themselves as their favourite characters.

There is a little story with the matching gift bag. My friend, saw a gift bag I made on Facebook and challenged me to make a Star Trek themed one. That's how it all started.

Have a great weekend.

Tattered Lace - Sailing Ship and Anchor Dies

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

How is your week going? I have been catching up on my crafting with a vengeance it is good to be crafting again. I do enjoy my days out as well, it looks like we will be busy at the weekend again.

I thought this would be my last post as part of the Tattered Lace television sample making team. They have been having a Design Team call and I decided not to reapply. I was quite surprised to get two lots of dies in the post yesterday. Then I noticed on Facebook that the Design Team call has been extended until the end of April so it will be a while before the new team are up and running. I might even get some more dies to work with in the mean time.

Here are all the samples I sent in: three cards, two gift bags and a tag.

This is the first card I made a very simple one. I had lots of the netting background left over after the wedding and it came in very handy. I am rather used to making things with a nautical theme.

The anchor looked good cut four times. It was quite easy to cut the rope separately to paper piece it.

I was rather taken with the ship and I enjoyed making the little scene through the porthole. I want to make a card like this for my Father-in-Law I think he will like it a lot.

I used brushes inks and masks to make the sea, sky and sun.

I decided to make some gift bags you can see the netting background again. I really do have a lot left over.

This gift bag was the only thing that was clear to see on the television. Some of my other samples were there on the counter but they weren't really shown.

The anchor made a good decoration for another gift bag.

I used the Tattered Lace Pierced Tag set to create the tag. I would have made one with the ship on but it didn't fit.

I did enjoy making these cards. They may not have had much time on the television but there is a Tattered Lace Pinterest board called the Men's Collection where they can be seen.

I must get on with my next set of samples it is a good job that I am up to date with my other makes.

Enjoy the rest of the week.

Happy Crafting

Tattered Lace Charisma Teddy and Embellishments

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

Well this has been a busy week one way and another and we aren't quite at the end yet. I hope you are all getting on OK.

Over the Christmas break I had quite a few Tattered Lace deadlines. It did help that we couldn't go out much because of my poor husband's wrist.

I enjoyed making these samples for shows that are being shown on Create and Craft  today.

Here are all the samples together. The little teddy is so cute. There is a CD rom of images he has different expressions. There is a die to cut him out. I also had the Teddy Embellishments die set to work with.

I made matching sets of cards and tags and a couple of bags. This is content teddy.

This was happy teddy pretty in pink.  All the embellishments were made from the Teddy Embellishments die. I chose not to use the print out from the CD for the embellishments I enjoyed making them to match the cards and tags.

This is sad teddy but he still looks cute.

Here they all are again. They were all shown. The teddy is very hard to resist.

I have made a lot of samples for Tattered Lace recently. I think I have samples that have gone to CHA in America this week.  I wonder if they will turn up anywhere?

Enjoy the last day of the week.

Happy Crafting

Tattered Lace - Playful Penguins

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

How has you week been so far? We went to the theatre last night to see Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. It was a very good show we are so lucky to have such a good theatre close to where we love.

Tattered Lace shows at the weekend this is my second set of samples for the Create and Craft shows last Saturday. It was fun spotting all my samples around the set and  big thrill when they were featured on screen.

Here are all the samples together.

This is my favourite card it also shows the rotational square dies that I used to make the border.

This was the first card I made when I was trying the dies out.

I do like making these gift bags they are fun to make. There is a tutorial for these at the top of my blog.

I didn't spot these bags on set I still think they are a fun idea and they would make a nice gift.

Here they are again. I hope that you enjoy the rest of the week. I have three deadlines that I need to meet. I had better get started.

Happy Crafting
