Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, as the saying goes. What that adage fails to mention, though, is that it can also be the hardest meal of the day to plan for. Do you go sweet or savory? Decadent or healthy? Do you have time to eat it sitting down, or do you have to grab it and run out the door? With a breakfast potluck, you don’t have to decide. Because everyone brings a different dish, you can have a little bit of everything. You could just bring donuts from Dunkin’ or bagels from the grocery store (the horror), but you’re better than that. Check out our 23 breakfast potluck recipes for ideas—you just might want to host one every weekend.

Because potlucks are all about sharing, you’re going to want to go for easy, crowd-pleasing dishes that are quick to assemble and can serve a lot of people at once. Get out those casserole dishes, Bundt pans, sheet pans, and muffin trays, people! Casseroles are potluck gold, and that holds true for breakfast ones, and the same is true for handheld options like quick breads and donuts. If you're feeling overwhelmed about planning your menu, we get it. Like we said, breakfast can be tough! Instead of whipping up a whole dish, consider bringing drinks. Alcoholic options, like our favorite brunch cocktails, are super easy to batch for a crowd, as are many of our top mocktails. Worst comes to worst, simple OJ and coffee are always welcome.

Crème Brûlée French Toast

This crème brûlée French toast is done casserole-style, with 8 to 10 slices of bread snuggled together in a 13" x 9" pan. Everyone gets a serving, no worries there! The custard mixture, inspired by our own take on crème brûlée, is made with rich egg yolks, cream, and granulated sugar. Allowing the bread to soak will lead to a softer creamier pudding-like interior which, along with the burnt, crackly golden sugar crusted top, puts this breakfast over the top.
