The Leaning Fake

I got another book, 100 Dinge über Braunschweig, die man wissen sollte, 100 things about Braunschweig you should know. I´ll pick some interesting ones only, right.

We kinda have a little bit of Italy over here, too.
It´s not the leaning tower of Pisa that we visited 2015 in heavy rain, it´s the fake waterworks that was built too near to river Oker and is leaning a tad as well.

Why fake? It was actually the 54 meter high chimney of the old waterworks, looking very industrial, not fitting into the middle aged architecture.
They simply added a layer of shellbearing limestone, so it looks more "church-like".
The waterworks is long gone, but this fake is still there, added by the guardian aaand...

As the leaning tower of Pisa this guy is from ... Italy.
Braunschweig artist Klaus Stümpel has his studio in Pistoia where we sadly just drove by.
"According to one theory, Pistoia lent its name to the pistol,[1] which started to be manufactured in Pistoia during the 16th century." (by Wiki) - not that the guardian is a thread, though ;-)

Nor these guys...

... of course :-)
None the less, it´s a crazy world.
Went over to Facebook and the chat tells me my MIL is playing online games! I feel too old for that.

It does look a bit like the tower of Pisa.
Don't care for online games either.

You can´t climb it though.
Yep, I prefer to read a book :-)

You always make me happy Iris. I do love the way you look at things 😀 Gosh the guard on top of the 'leaning tower' 😉 looks a wee bit dramatic! Love the lion bench, would look good in my garden oui, kangaroos just wouldn't be the same ☺ MIL playing online games.. really!

Love to make you happy, Hrace :-)
Well THAT high up I´d have a dramatic look, too, I guess :-)
There are at least eight of those lion-benches, sadly too heavy to bring one along ;-)
Yep playing the whole evening(s), too!
