Contradiction

These are the times. An old piece of a bed blocking the way to a restaurant and someone - likely the sad owner - felt the need to write on it you are welcome (Germans say "herzlich", by heart). Just... they can´t, thank you, Corinna.

I think a lot of people reflect these days.
How much businesses have closed down and how can it be that Ingo works side by side with colleagues - they have to "hand" over tiniest parts - but they are not allowed to go into a bar afterwards and share a beer or whatever.

Or, what Ingo just said to me, "remember when you worked for the undertaker? Tiny parts of chipped wood everywhere when you worked on it - did you wear a mask?" No. And now you find masks everywhere. Likely dumped into the street cause it´s a job too hard to carry  them to a rubbish-bin (irony, right).

You work hard you get hungry. Hm.

"To Go!" ... Just... you have to wear a mask in the heart of the city. Likely it´s cold once you can take the mask off...
Huh. I´m SO done with Currywurst anyways, LOL! Even if "Braunschweiger specialty".
I worked as external for VW and once a week it was Currywurst-day and we were kinda "forced" to join - can you imagine?

"Forced" as for the guys we were but a team! Our VW-boss send the song Currywurst around every time 😍

16 years and I would´ve been forced to pay 50% more in the canteen being external (the guys up there called it "guest").
I had a VW-colleague who faked a card for me, I paid the normal price.
Pffff. I can tell. He´s retired, I´m fired, it even rhymes!

This is for Tom´s signs 2.

And Henry 🦁? Did he go missing????

They search for Lions!!!
Now THAT is some sign!

T STands For Adriano!!! Help Me In The KiTchen!

Ingo gave me the Bose and ever since when I cook... Adriano is with me and I bother no one!
Those headphones are brilliant!!!
See... go. Vote!

Or how about a ballata? La ballata di Pinocchio? (We´ve been there, Lucca!)

You cook like a King with this! (And listen to all the laughter, it´s a joy!) Certainly Homer is with me also (see cooking helper under Bose)!

 Here I just took a pic - €23 for a hot-"water"-bag? Not with me.
What did Adriano and I cook (and yes, I cleaned up afterwards, no spaghetti sauce left as mess)...

 The other pot was Ingo´s...

Ingo grew up with this, and he grew to over one meter eighty (eighty-four, now maybe eighty-three), I did not and don´t even hit the -sixty anymore.
But this soup and I won´t make friends...

Spaghetti, anyone?

Art-wise I just doodled around. I STILL wait for the book on water-colors, thanks to Corinna it´s all a tad slow...

Spring-colors - yesterday it WARMED UP - sorry for screaming but getting Ingo´s bread was a JOY!!! I used sunscreen! Yippeee-ya-yeah, Schweinebacke!!!

(Schweinebacke being winter! YES, take that, winter!!! And here is an interview with Schweinebacke´s speaker! A FUN interview!!! My belly hurts!  I´m in love a bit!)
So Spring-colors it was!

The sun is out!!! Cookie, you!

Red and green, our kitchen.
Guess what I did.... Took some of my bread out of the freezer. Put chicken and Wasabi on it.
Sounds yum?
I forgot I had loads of chili in the bread, BOY, that was hot!

Well this Easter will be slim, eh? So I stuck to just a simple, thin, handwriting... but I wish you...

Other (other than blogger bugging me, changing font etc every time! Same with you?) and other than not being able to find a job...

...even W said NO! It´s not worth it!!!
I get job offers in Jena! Frankfurt. Top was Vienna.
Perth I would take but that won´t happen.
This was my week:

THE HIGHLIGHT certainly was finding Treasure!!!
A post on that Thursday is in the making, we live in dumb-land.

Friday I went up to neighbor W - I´d said I MIGHT make lasagna and share it with him but after dumb I was sick of more heat.

He´s too thin, he´s so sad about his wife having Alzheimer´s - mind you, I sure know how this goes, my Grandma in the end thought I´m my Brother´s Wife. Out of 14 Grandkinds she raised the two of us! And forgot me....

He loves Stollen - a Christmas Cake and guess what I found!!!! SPRING-Stollen!!!
Even better than lasagna, right! W gave some for Ingo back (I don´t like sweets):

Also my entry for Elizabeth and Bleubeard´s "T Stands For Tuesday".

So there we stood, W and I, me with mask on.

W: "You won´t get a vaccine, will you!!!"
It was merely a warning not going for it.

No. Not in the risk group, don´t see anyone and meds are taken off the market as considered unsafe in Denmark already.
I said, "have you seen the news, how Merkel...." ... OH BOY.
W got a bit loud, calling her (rightfully) stupid, asking what good it is to say "sorry" for ruining our country, aka not being able to manage the crisis.

THE WORLD, America, rightfully laughs about "us"!
And yes, rightfully. Compare the size of these countries, Germany is tiny and Merkel goes from lockdown to hard... you get the picture...

GOOD: We switched to SUMMER-TIME!
Wish we could stay there!

Or "heart", as Ingo calls it...

Mine sure is much more beautiful, thanks to Ingo, post to come.

Henry 🦁

Ice-Tea??? Oh, Henry, not warm enough for that, Lion, you!
Just a pic, I cannot buy everything, right...

I Welcome Anyone, Also "Rubbish"

Someone needs to take care, right.
I always get the broken stuff, I´m with that bin, pic taken in Perth 2019.

Wish our bins were that beautiful!

Artist, as usual, unknown :-(
But I thank that person, you make life better.

Also found on the way there...

To me it counts as mural, how about you?

Henry 🦁

He soooo wanted to join us, visiting our host, but... thank you, Corinna, we´ll stay here in darn lockdown. He "brülls"!! ROOAAAARRRR

Acapella

Let´s just enjoy this... Oh... only the good die young.

Look. The first seconds, as they simply cut out the music, there is silence.

Silence, to remember this man... to give him credit.

Henry 🦁

He wished Freddie would live and wonders what joy this beautiful man´d brought to us...
"Aktiv Leben"... Cheers to you, Freddie...

We switched to summer time. Yay.
No Hubby, no job, at least this.
We live forever... some think.

Treasure Is Not Alone!

When it went dark yesterday Treasure sure was glad he found himself in our living room and not in the cold street. When my lamp went on she cried, "ohhh, who are you, welcome!!!"

This lamp hung in my parent´s bedroom in the 70´s and was so happy to see yet another member of her era!

She sure is not alone.
Note: you may write in another language and know things are "it", but it sticks. Chairs are male, lamps female... it would be too impersonal to refer to old friends as "it".
It´s "la lune" and also "she" in English, yet in German the moon is male and the sun is female, did you know?

It... A phone is an it and in the 70´s I sure used this orange beauty:

It feels home, having my Mum´s round container by it´s side:

Also looking over to the living room lamp where the phone once lived by:

 Treasure really was so happy.
He also met this!

Grandma saw how I adored this and gave it to me 🧡

And this...

In front of the swing:

Our timer and...

Can you imagine, Mum sent me to buy her ciggies - I was a kid, no worries!

Treasure also met these, they never lived  with us, but my  parents couldn´t sell them and they all found a new home here:

Next time I´m (haha, Corinna...) next time I´ll be at my Bro´s the watch´ll get batteries, he ordered them (he´s also still a bit of a watchmaker).
BEAM ME UP, eh?

This one sadly is broken but wow, sooo cool, too:

Ignore me in the reflection, gahhh, I´ll never become a pro in taking pics!
The orange one is a (psssst) fake. But it´s a) 70´s style and b) reminds me of Groundhog Day!

No one wanted this, either...

My Brother is too young and let me have also all the unsold stuff, this is my last roomie:

Some still have the price-tag on, but sadly you cannot read my Dad´s super-fine writing anymore (in the 70´s you wrote by hand!).

Wait, I checked, this one is intact, I need to preserve it... with tape?

My parents owned a shop that my Brother has now. Optometrics, jewelry, watches, hearing aids. It goes down the drain with Corinna... so sad. He is allowed to open a few mornings and only for people who made an appointment first.
FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!

Yes. The early 70´s were happy times.
My Brother was born late '77 and can´t remember much, poor fella that, the 80´s were... ugh!

Easter comes up so I leave you with this:

The haircut, huh, yayyyy! Freedom!
Freedom? See last post, did he let me do anything on my own?!
Henry 🦁 - he´s old as a lion and remembers the times, he says...

What was your fav time? Here is a typical symbol of German 70´s, the Prilblume, our kitchen was (and is full of that):

And yes, Pril is a detergent (and I´m the dish-washer...)...

And River gave THE solution!

Thank you ALL for your suggestions, but this is kinda "it"!

As soon as we can (darn it, it´s in the news, America even laughs about Germany due to Corinna-chaos!).. as soon as we can I´ll get leather in Treasure´s color, put it underneath, glue it, make sure it´s hard so not glue my Popo, too, and weeeee.... we´re all happy!!
Blogger-world is BEST!

Does Emil Have To Leave Me?

Look what I found!!!! I couldn´t believe my eyes!
On the way to get Ingo´s bread I turned around our corner and ... WOW!
At first I thought I call my T, as I am not "allowed" to carry chairs, according to him.

Funny side-story, when we met at IKEA for brekkie we went shopping afterwards - we both needed chairs.
Ingo knew about the plan and suggested, practical as he is, to take a rope with me for easier carrying - it´s a 5km-walk each way. I mean, it was but a 3kg kitchen-folding chair, plus, I explained to T, if I get tired, I can sit  down, right?
(Once I bought a bag and was asked if I need a bag for that, and I´m not even kidding!! )
No way, he insisted on driving me home.

This baby was a tad more heavy, so I was happy I found "him" (in German chairs are male) right around the corner!

So... after 20+ years Emil (named that way by IKEA, not me)...

Emil ... will welcome Ingo when we watch something on my PC together - I will not throw him out!
He helped me reach things high up (and that he will keep doing as he is steady), helped me renovate even!
Ingo was often saying I need a new chair, Emil is uncomphy for always sitting there, so... I certainly listen to my husband, like a wife does, right (when she wants to) 😉

At first Ingo said "Treasure" needs to go!  My Brother called me rag-collector and T asked:

"... you gonna repair the rip or do you consider that 'shabby chic'? 🤣"
Which... got me thinking.

Any suggestions?

Boy, WHO throws such a super-comphy, mega-cool original 70´s chair out?!

My dream chairs are long gone, my Bro had to bring them to the dumpster as our Dad was so "clever" to put these babies in the attic 😭. All that is left is this pic:

Dad is holding the book with me, no idea why, the glasses were fake and I think I only pretended I can "read" (and obviously I´m a folding chair person ever since, LOL - the kitchen chair is made of wood and has no arm-rests, I´m not weird)... But these chairs in the background, awwwww 🧡🧡🧡.
Treasure has (fake?) broken leather, our old ones had fabric.

I think I declare Treasure is shabby chick and that´s about it.

Henry 🦁 ...  you found him by the stove, right? And leaning against the heating is his sibling.
And that eye... Ingo´s. Taken at Freo.
P.S. Maybe I should explain: Over the years I had three team leaders all called Thomas, all from former GDR, and this one is my friend now, we WhatApp every day.
