Nice Evening To You

07:09 a.m. at the cash-out: "...and a nice evening to you! 😊 Oh!.... day!!!!"

I´m next, guy grins, "wish the day was done!"
Obviously!

Henry 🦁

Well, I DON`T! It´s another wonderful summer´s day!
And yes, two posts today again, and no, the store opens 07:00 am!

What Do You Do?

I had a real shitt# day yesterday so all I did was sketching on the balcony.
How about you?

OK. We laughed and cried at work and... I "stink" - that is a German saying for when you are (a bit) proud of yourself.
N is on further training so mainly it was me holding the meeting with the customer and N taught we well 😊.

Later W called me to cry. Boy, did we laugh in despair!
The translation company so messes up!
They really in sentence one write "dots" - "Punkte" for "points" - "Weiche", next get it correct, just to return to dots.
This is what we talk about:

Also called "Froschschenkel" - frog legs, ewww....

He´s a bit older and told me back in the day a monitor or terminal was called "Datensichtgerät"!!!! LOL!!!

I nearly fell off my chair, 🤣
Screening data, yes, let´s do that!

Henry 🦁

Yippeeeeee..... Opening the balcony door WIIIIDE at 05:00 am and letting in some cool, fresh air, sooooo good.
And having an eye on Peanut!
Don´t you come in here!😉

T STands For Ta-Daa

Ingo has three days off and hence here is my entry to
Elizabeth´s T!

And this is not all... Henry 🦁 pays his visit at the beginning, too, do you spot him?

Art-wise I tried this:

And again the journal, if you care:

Monday: Spanish customer C whilst thinking, sharing his screen: "Pa-pa-pa-PAM..."
Found out the Spanish pronounce my name the same as in German and N at the end of the meeting  exclaimed: "For today I´m happy!"
Had time for some pages of the The Simpsons Math-book.

Got Ingo´s bread and Ingo made Toast Hawaii.

Tuesday: Summer, no sport but book on the balcony!
Toast Hawaii.

Wednesday: "Ta-da-da-daa....". German N whilst sharing and thinking.
I´m not alone!!
Dunno... do they all copy what I brought in from Siemens with "Mi-mi-mi-mi"? 🤣
Summer - brolly up and sketching on the balcony.
Ahhh, those are the times!
Toast Hawaii.

Thursday: We need to get Corinna-tested for the summer-party, so off I went to the White Horse SC.
And whilst the nice lady evaluated my test - which takes 20 minutes - I saw a cute, comphy looking pair of shoes, reduced by 20%, too.
Tried on, fit, bought.
Went back, got them in another color.
The sales lady laughed and told me they are so beautiful and comphy, she has them in all colors!
So, yes. Three new pairs of shoes in two weeks.
Oh, come on. I wore my winter shoes till they fell apart!
Toast Hawaii. Hmmmm... SO yummy!

Yummy, and reminds me of Mum.
In hospital Hannover the three of us went to the canteen a couple of times.
Mum could not eat, but Bro and I enjoyed their super-yummy Toast Hawaii and Mum was happy. Well. As happy you can be when you can guess this was it...

Comphy cheapies!

Friday: We call the Pantograph now lovingly "Panto" - and yes, it came from the men, not me 😍
N and I worked hard and then talked bout private stuff, it was fun!
Then Ingo got up my bike from the cellar and I drove to ESE for the summer festival where one of the bosses gave us all way too much Jägermeister, LOL.

Saturday: Ingo went grocery shopping after a long day in the city where I got a Guido´s Pizza to take home, hmmmmm - and we had some Poretti, of course! The guys to the left even asked Ingo about it - the female guys!
And then Ingo went grocery shopping and brought me beautiful sunflowers!!!

Sunday: Die Maus. Sunflowers!!!
And a bagpipe! The Elephant always helps - be it watering the flowers or playing that instrument. He mends all broken stuff! Not in a China Store, this fella is clever.

Reminds me of my T! Ingo bought a bagpipe, it was plain awful.
I knew T loves that music and asked him if he wants the darn bagpipe, which he certainly did.
Saw it in the corner, beautifully displayed on a visit and asked how it´s going.

Him: "Not at all. I forgot I have two missing fingers... I cannot play it! 🤣🤣🤣"
Years backwards he always hid his hand - until one summer he saw my badly scared arm and revealed his hand, that was about that!
He now even wears a ring on that hand.

Both of us survived a bad accident and we take the scars with humor.

Food-wise, a quickie:

That was it for T today - have a fun one!

Be Hip!

This was one of the last days in beautiful Perth 2019.
I went to the city by myself.

I sometimes need to be on my own and stop where, when and how long I want.
It was if I knew I won´t be back for a long time. Thank you, Corinna.

This is the entrance to a shop, lo-fi, that has nothing on offer that you can need in Braunschweig.
But, ahhhh. Such a nice entrance, huh?

 Henry 🦁

Peanut: "Hip to the bone! I leave but a foot... ummm... pawprint."

When Your Hubby Goes Grocery Shopping

Despite the butter was in for some WHOPPING €3.50 I got these to remember my Dad and certainly...

... stand with Ukraine.

Another bunch of travel-flowers.
Tomorrow they´ll find themselves at my workplace 💙💛🌻🌻🌻

And... thank you Ingo! 💖

Party!

Oh, I hate myself.
Ingo was so kind to get my bike up from the cellar and off I took at 4:00 p.m.
What was I thinking?!
On foot I need 40 minutes.

I stopped in the park, sadly no book with me.
Time to show you my new shoes some asked about:

The beautiful bag is a pressie from my SIL btw. Actually I wanted to take my Perth-bag but thought that might ruin my t-shirt whilst driving the bike.

I stopped here and there...

I sometimes wonder. My Bro - like my Mum was - always late. Me, like my Dad... wayyyy too early - both not good!

A "gem"?

I stood there, knowing no one at  ESE.
Was sure at home I´d grabbed, more or less blindly a Freo T-Shirt when suddenly a female ESE-colleague addressed me (Yipeee! Those who know me know I am extremely shy, it´s a pain).

She said, "oh, Perth!!! Do you belong to the Perth-project?"

We have a Perth project???? WHAT?!

I was wearing this, btw, name-tag included:

"No, it´s a railway going to a mining town ... no one wants to work there..."

Me: "Tom Price?"

LOL, you should´ve seen her face!!!

(See our "huge" car in the background!).

Oh, so glad I wore the Perth shirt!!!!
She is rather shy, too and we stuck together for nearly the rest of the evening. She introduced me to others, it was a nice event.

Please, if you´re in for a wonderful, cute story read to you.... click!
You will hear the finest Aussie-slang, too! 😍
You´ll meet a Koala, also. And Kookaburras. A possum, too. A frog, like on our balcony. And (no) surprise, a kangaroo.

They admired him and on my explanation went ohhhh, and ahhhh so much the only man left the table, LOL!

Such a variety of food, two nice bosses, one, after the official part came back and back and back with these:

"Toot my horn"! (when translation goes wrong - the horn of a train was translated to "deer head" and my now teamleader went to Sweden with Jägermeister - it has a deer head!).
Boy, oh, boy!
We had more than one, ice-cool, too - oh, if I was nasty I would´ve sneaked a glass home - did not. These are glasses from Magnifest.

One new colleague from Poland was so eager to speak German. Blue eyes, beautiful face, trying to flirt... with me!!! And no, no Jägermeister for him, he went back to Poland that night.
Some came from Frankfurt, Kiel and even Munich!!!
I do believe this is a great company.

I said I´ll leave 8:30 latest. Was home 10:30, Ingo was about to call!
Was too ... lazy! to drag the bike down into the cellar, weee, it´s really steep. Also without Jägermeister that is difficult for me!
So. Like back when Ingo was in hospital and I needed the bike every day... it´s happy to stay here!

Henry 🦁

Thank you, big boy!

FFO - #6 Donation Fairy Tale Braunschweig

Nicole reminded me to join her FFO and, well.
What is on my table here?

A Panda holding hair strings. An Owl with hand-cream. And behind... a cooler with  a group of Emus. Makes five faces!

Just perfect for this true story (you know I cannot make up things well) - Let´s go on with my Happiness-book on Braunschweig, shall we?

2011. An elderly woman got robbed, she was devastated, under shock, found help at an organization. Where they – after the article of the woman was in the newspaper – found an envelope, nothing written on it, inside said article together with twenty 500-euro bills.

Shortly before Christmas a second envelope with a newspaper-article, 10 000 euro inside.

February, a hospice.  An envelope with 10 000 euro and another article. Kindies, schools and many more found such envelopes in Braunschweig, sender always unknown.

Till 2015 it summed up to some 260 000 euro!

German, not Braunschweig newspapers, called it “the miracle of Braunschweig” (maybe you know the “Miracle of Lengede”, which is just around the corner, a wonder, or miracle, of a different kind – there is even a movie on this and this link sums it up (English)). -  in Argentina Braunschweig was on TV and an 11-year old boy asked for help and received 2000 euro, likely a huge amount in that country.

Who is this?! Some wealthy person with no family? Some bank robber who feels guilty? People decided it doesn´t matter!

February 2021 – 100 000 euro in one envelope for help against domestic violence.

Corinna, Zoo Stöckheim / Braunschweig (The City of Lion-Zoo) received 20 000 euro, another 100 000 euro to another institute, again against domestic violence – as help for the women and children, a note said.

Till this day no one knows if this was one person panda, owl or emu or several (faces) who followed the example. The latter, the author adds, would really be märchenhaft. Like in a fairy tale 🥰

Henry 🦁

To that generous person(s)!
And to moaners! There will be name-tags at the summer festival of ESE, yipeeee... What a relief!
And, if unlucky... heavy rain, to riding a push-bike...

What´s Your Read?

View from our swing up.
Yes, I admit, sometimes I lay just down and it may even happen I doze off!

In this former window you find heaps (not all) books I have and my current read (actually I have three) is this:

See my little toy-tram representing project Frankfurt?
I hope one day I will be able to hop on!

After all it comes in one of my fav colors!

Or do I? We discuss what happens in case of fire since two weeks.
And that come wind in 120 km/h+ the  pantograph may loose contact.
(Germans test this! I would stay home in such wind...)

Ever since I know that I look up at the pantographs when a tram passes by - we live right around the corner of a crossing point.
Funny how I never cared about trams before I knew such details.

We even discuss asbestos as the screws´ coating comes from China.
Yes. We talk about screws - you can say I´m deeply involved! 🤣
Who would ever have thought so - not me.
So... it was natural to buy this book.

And whilst some go for a ciggie / a smoke, I read one or two pages in  a book.
The eyes need a break from time to time, don´t you agree?

Not that guy, but the rail.
Tomorrow the ESE has a summer-festival and I have to go / ride my bicycle and will go by this place.
Oh, I hate such events, esp as "the new one".
Everybody sees me, one person, one name.
Easy.
Me????
I have difficulties per se to remember names and faces.
Not funny.

I´ll have to brave up and go.
Three people already asked if I´ll be there and I only met one in person so far.
And the boss. What if I do not recognize him????!
Stress.
F said he´ll be there in time - the food might be gone too soon, LOL.
He´s new, too. I´ve talked to him often and have no idea how he looks like.

It´s like being blind - I´ll have to find out by the sound of his voice.
Oh, boy-oh-boy.

Henry 🦁

The Braunschweig tram is all around me !

To books, any tips  from your side what to read (no, don´t, I have too many already! 😉)
