BUGS!

Aren´t they beautiful? Ahhhh, summer-feeling - and the artist is... Ente. And since Ente is an animal with a beak we have...

How about a new series?

"The tastiest dishes with the funniest names

There's no shortage of food, but what about the foods whose names will make you smile or scratch your head in confusion? From “sausages in a dressing gown” to “bear claws,” many of these fun dishes are delicious too! Additionally, some of them contain extremely entertaining origin stories."

Let´s start:

"Dutch Baby Pancake

The Dutch Baby pancake does not come from the Netherlands and is not the size of a real baby. Inspired by the German pancake, "Dutch Babies" are baked in a pan in the oven rather than fried."

 Henry 🦁

Have  a good start into the week.

The ladybug is such a pretty piece of art!
What a lovely find! :)

Both 'Sausages in a dressing gown' and 'Dutch Baby Pancakes sound fun and look delicious.
I love the sound of 'pigs in a blanket,' too :)

I think `pigs in a blanket` is the same, we have that here, too :-)
Ente is a local artist who is like really talented.

Lovely, those bugs. And I love the idea of the new series. About this first one: it's not fom the Netherlands you say. But then why would it be called Dutch babies?

The ladybugs are adorable. Great find Iris. Good luck with the new series of strange food names, I'm sure you'll find lots of weird ones. Thanks for participating in Monday Murals.

Ente really is a great artist! Hmmm... I have no idea about the name, I just copy the text from the internet...

Yes, Braunschweig artist Ente pops up from time to time, I think he´s great.
The series is a fixed series, I only click through and use google translate as it comes in German.

Ladybugs are always a welcome sight. I must salute you for being at least bi-lingual. THanks so much for putting out this English version of your posts...do you do it in German also, or do you use Google translator?

...Iris, I love Ladybugs, but I just had breakfast and you made me hungry again!

Love the ladybugs too, Iris.

Ente is a great artist.

Oh, ladybugs. Counting the days to see them. Just like Kalte Ente isn't made with ducks.

Just in English. I had to take days off and went to Ingo´s place (we still had a weekend-relationship). Everybody was working, so I was surfing the internet. I googled "Perth" and found: "There are no red onions at Wollies." Huh??? They are called "The fresh food people" and have no red onions?!
Checked the link, it was a "blog". The woman, my age lived in Cottesloe/Perth.
I wanted to comment and suddenly it said: "You have a blog now", in English.
So, I started a blog, in English. My family has no interest in it, which is a bonus ;-)
google translate I only use for the "series"-texts.
I speak a bit French, too :-)

LOL, my first thought was, hungry from seeing Ladybugs?! Thank you for the laugh, Tom!

Wish Ente would be more active!

What is "kalte Ente"? I know "Kalter Hund", which is a cake typical for East Germany. Or is it "Kalte Schnauze", something like that (I am a Wessie and I don´t like sweets, so, my interest is not really big in this).
Mom used to make "Falscher Hase", no bunny in there.

I love that lady bug mural. It's beautifully done. And have you tried out frog or toad in in the hole?

Iris Flavia said...

Yes to both! :-) Fun and beauty we need in these times...

Iris Flavia said...

Yes, a lucky Ente-find! We had leftovers, was yummy, too :-)

Iris Flavia said...

Yes, a beautiful mural. No, I just share the series with you. You run fast forward ;-)

I love watermelon Henry. I had the recipe for Dutch Baby pancakes but one day I realised I would never make them so I threw it away, and several other recipes too. Regular pancakes are good enough for me.

Blogger is weird. I answered I am sorry and that I always copy my text, blogger showed your message abd mine,F5 > my message gone, yours is there.
I don´t like sweets much anyway, so... I just show what I find. Other one is really good, I might try it.
