Slimline Thinking of You Card with Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #603

Welcome back to another Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge blog post!  This week our sketch features a slimline card with a vertical layout, a bunch of elements with a small sentiment. For my "elements" I chose a very busy patterned paper (Recollections Terracotta) and layered some vellum leaves (Pinkfresh) over it.  The sentiment (Close to my Heart "For Every Occasion" was gold embossed on green cardstock and fussy cut and then layered over gold metallic foil cardstock. This card came together pretty quickly.

This closeup view shows the sentiment better:

Here is our fabulous sketch that inspired my card layout and for you to try.  Our challenge is open until Sunday evening, November 17 and you can link up your project here.  We look forward to visiting your blogs and leaving some bloggy comment love. Glittery Daisies Birthday Card with Sketch Saturday #729

Years ago I purchased this glittery white daisy and pink background paper (Cloud 9) and decided to use it in today's project.  I didn't want to totally cover up the middle section so I stamped and clear embossed with Polysparkle Tinsel on vellum to keep the pretty daisies in view.  The bold sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp Best Year Yet stamp set. While I was at it, I made two cards varying the background mat.

Which background mat do you like better--grey or white?

Here is the fabulous Sketch Saturday sketch that inspired my card layout:

Birthday Queen Step Card with Atlantic Hearts Sketch #519

Welcome back to another Atlantic HeartsSketch Challenge blog post!  This week our sketch features a Step Card! This was a new fancy card fold for me so I researched on youtube and came up with a few dimensions that worked for my card.  I made this card with my sister in mind using the Storybook Cardmaking Kit (crown die cut and stamps) and Brushed Paper Pack (retired Close to my Heart).

Here is another view:

The red part of the crown was made by putting Game Over Lunar Paste on a piece of white cardstock and then fancy cutting to match the gold glitter crown.

Here is our fabulous sketch that inspired my card layout and for you to try.  Our challenge is open until Sunday evening, April 8 and you can link up your project here.  We look forward to visiting your blogs and leaving some bloggy comment love. Please stop by our blog on Wednesday to see what the rest of the talented Design Team has to inspire you.

This week's challenge at the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog is "Fright Night" and we hope you can play along with us here.  Our randomly selected prize winner will receive a $15 Gift Certificate to the SVG Attic.

Halloween is quickly approaching and I wanted to use Design Space to create some home decor items.  Once I figured out that I could use a basic box shape from the CTMH Artiste cartridge and weld some Halloween images from the CTMH Artbooking cartridge I couldn't stop creating these cute votive holders!  The first picture was taken with the flickering battery operated votive candles in the dark.

     Colonial White CS
     Sunset CS
     Slate CS
     Black Ink

     Black Ink
Black marker to color the bat

Bitten by the Bug--use a bat on your project

Would you like to have these Design Space cutting files?  If so, just leave me a comment with your email address and I will be happy to send it to you.

Head on over to the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge blog to check out what the rest of the fabulous Design Team has to share with you.  We hope that you will be able to play along with our challenge and join in on the fun.

Embossed Patchwork Squares for Color My Heart Color Dare #86

Welcome back to another Color My Heart Color Dare post where we challenge you to use Close To My Heart colors.  (Substitutions are allowed if you don't have CTMH colors yet and you may also use neutrals such as white, colonial white, greys, tans, black).  This week our challenge colors are Ponderosa Pine, New England Ivy and Goldrush.

I started out by using each of the 3 challenge colored papers, the Cuttlebug machine and 3 of the new Close To My Heart embossing folders.  Next I used a 1.25" square punch and glued the squares onto a 4.25" x 4.25" square of Black CS.  This was then mounted onto a Whisper CS card base with Thinking of You (from Sincere Expressions stamp set) stamped on the bottom right hand corner.

Next I black embossed Classy Doily onto vellum and cut out part of it which I mounted to the center of the card with a small piece of 3D Foam Tape.

Lastly I placed a Green Epoxy Bubble onto the very center of the doily stamp.  Here is my finished card--although I must say that I like the card without the doily attached too!

I'm also entering this card into the following challenges:
Cards in Envy--Anything Goes in A2 size
    Stampin' for the Weekend--Anything Goes
Love to Create--Clean and Simple and/or Classy and Elegant
     Just for Fun challenge--Anything Goes

Check out what our Guest Designer Casandra and the rest of the fabulous Color My Heart Color Dare Design Team B has to inspire you:  Gretchen, MichelleHansi and Sarah.  You have until Thursday, March 20 9PM CT to enter your papercrafted creation here.  We look forward to visiting your blogs and seeing what you create with the colors Ponderosa Pine, New England Ivy and Goldrush.

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a wonderful week filled with fun and creativity!
