A Summer Garden in the mail

Just like waiting for an exchange to arrive, I am as much full of anticipation and jittery of waiting for mine to get delivered to its new home as well. The waiting always made me felt like forever. There's so much that could happen while the mail is travelling and so it was a great relief and a joy to finally  know that my exchange Mail Art finally reached it's new home in Greece.
Thank you Ariadne, appreciate that you wrote to let me know and I am glad you like what I have stitched for you and my package. Thank you for following me .
Oh! and Congratulations on your wedding.

Mail Art Exchange hosted by Mii Stitch
The back enevelope
The pocket and the lining fabric
Because I love how that tree arched, the stamps just got to make way from that corner
So this is the front, the stamps are pre-stamped to make it look more realistic since I am mailing in an envelope.
Mail Art flew into Greece, Oh! how I love that country, wished it's me flying there. LOL.

In my package I have some sachets of our local coffee, a crocheted bookmark in red, a felted needlebook, some buttons, lace trims and DMC floss and two postcard of my city.
My choice of my stitched design is from LHN - Summer Garden
16 count tea dyed Aida
I forgot to measure the size but it fit the postcard.

Mailed on 17 June and am rather surprised that it arrived so quickly.
Mission accomplished!
A word of thanks to  Ingrid for hosting this exchange.

Happy Mail Art day

Happy dance !! My Mail Art hosted by Ingrid of Mii Stitch arrived on Saturday and it's so pretty. My partner is Mary W from IL, USA and I love her choice of design for me. Since this is a stitcher's choice theme, no one can guess what your partner has in mind for you until it arrived .
I never knew who my partner was before this came and only then I could peek into my partner's blog
Loved the quilted handmade House Card with the words "from my house to yours", Mary has lots of lovely and amazing quilts featured in her blog and another of her encounter with nature.
And the goodies she thoughtfully picked for me, buttons and trims and a little hexa flower in red.
A stitched violet book cover complete with a note book in lilac, is so sweet and delicate.
Thank you Mary, for your thoughtfulness.
I really like what you stitched for me , you finished it beautifully too although you wrote this is your first.

Now I hope mine has somewhat got on a plane the least and be on its way or finished crossing continents and landed at it's destination local postal office waiting for delivery. Until then, no revealing as yet.
Thanks to everyone for visiting and your time to leave me your comments.
Happy Summer to all on Summer Holidays

Tick ! Tock ! Tick ! Tock ! May is coming to an end

How time flies. I have been procrastinating on this post as well.
It'll soon be June and two birthdays from this little group of mine where we are having the No Deadline Birthday Exchange in 2015 has just gone by, with June it will be three and I haven't got anything on my drawing board nor planned yet. Well, there were lots of ideas in my head, I pretty much want to make everything I see on Pinterest, well, looking and looking can take hours and not able to make up my mind is another. So here I am pondering still.

On another note, I've just finished stitching for a Mail Art Exchange hosted by Mii Stitch. It's been a long while since I was in an MA exchange.   I won't be able to share the photos of my MA as yet for now but this I can show you. Buttons I made using a little button making gadget from Daiso. It was pretty easy to make.
My Mother's Day stashing at Spotlight,  my first visit  like  35 minutes, and any crafters would know 35 minutes is NOT enough time to explore a craft store but I thought I could just make  a quick stop over on my way to fetch Diane 20 minutes away since I already knew what I wanted but apparently there's a lot more that I want but couldn't lay my hands on with so little time. So next visit, no rush.
Me and Mom had an early Mother's Day girls shopping spree  with both of us ended buying shoes, we went to Sephora, H & M, Parkson, Isetan and  thereafter we  stop to rest with her having  a bowl of Curry noodles instead of  Nasi Lemak which she wanted earlier but changed her mind.
She's  82
My bowl of Asam Laksa noodle (A spicy sweet sour from tamarind broth)
A late  Tim Sum at Genting Resort with DH. There's not much to show of this hilly casino resort at the moment since it is currently undergoing a massive re-development for the  first Twentieth Fox Century Theme park due to complete in 2016 . No we don't gamble, just sometimes we like to put a night or two here for it's cool air plus I love to shop here.
Red Hexa SAL related.
I finally got these fabrics out intended for washing but it rained heavily on the day I wanted to get it wash. So will have to put it away until another day

So instead I went on to make these Form Dress Mannequin, a design template from DIY Dish.
Here's the link thediydish. I have made these before but given away. These are for me, oh wait!! Diane had claimed one for herself.
.Stitching a Witchy Boots on a remnant piece of fabric to get my mind off  some pending issues on the homefront that has been on my mind for some weeks. I was also feeling unwell and apparently I had what the Doctor term is as Acid Reflux Symptom.  I was too tired to think any more and thought I could stitch a simple pair of witch boots on my own intuition and instinctive feeling, no chart, resulting I had to undo one boot when both  doesn't look like a match.
After all the froggy~ies gone and new stitches put in
Confession, your eyes not playing any tricks on you.
One leg is off by one count, not gonna undo that. I'll just leave it as that, no execuses
Will reveal my finishing in the next posting.

Till then, have a good week ahead, thank you so much for coming by, I appreciate and thank you all  for your lovely comments.

One last for August

Mail Art replacement for Aw who did not get hers from her partner for the Pink Theme exchange at Mail Art Friends group. This has been delayed for so loooong. So sorry Aw to have you kept waiting. I bet you must have given up hopes ;P
The back, a combination with two different cotton fabric and little bows to hold the flap.

Tralala, L'Heure du The'
My August stitching with someone in mind, stitching up the alphabets was easy and quick, so easy and quick that there were errors somewhere without me knowing, yeah and me not telling , yet I didn't un-pick because it was too much of stitching done already, also because there was no harm to the design and so I let it be. Its not that obvious either. I was also torn between the tea cup and the teapot and finally decided for the teapot minus the three hearts as I was stitching from the tea cup design.  Am I confusing? never mind me ramblings, its all about choices and likes.
Its  another box finishing with an added pocket and below,  a peek inside
A closeup of the  pincushion in matching fabrics , I don't know what this is called but I have seen it, quite a while back.
This can go into the box, overall I forgot to measure the finished size. The box estimated to be somewhere around 15cm X 8 or 9cm .  In corpora ting the design from the same chart, I finished into a needlebook with the same method of finishing as the one I did earlier for Shanny (June posting), the difference is having  a ribbon for a tie-up closures instead of a button.
There's two ribbon added actually, one to hold the pair of scissor, the other to whole it all.
The person in mind was Margaret W's, whose  birthday was  last week, and I heard she had a great day!
The new start that was talking about was this, the Once Upon A time series from LHN. This is the first chart 'Dream'. I plan to stitch all three in a row and I think I made quite a good progress with the stitching and did not get diverted to something else, thou I have also started to chart the last round of the LHN/CCN Stitching Needlework Round Robins for Joanne . More details later.
Something whimsy to share. Diane found these Angry Birds cups in a DIY shop while shopping for some birthday gifts and had to get it for her friends.I hope I had not posted this before. LOL

Tomorrow the country celebrates another festivity, here's me wishing to all my Muslims readers, Selamat Hari Raya Adil Fitri, drive safely on your balik kampung journey and Happy Holidays to those going on holidays

&
Our country's 54th Independence's Day !
31 August 2011

and so the country is having a three days Public holidays in a week, while I am having the entire week off.
What can  I say?? Yippee!

Have a good week everyone!

November days that kept me preoccupied

Attended a charity dinner
Held at Thin Hou Kong, that raised 150,000K for the underprivileged education funds part of the eight course Chinese dinner.

A replacement Halloween Mail Art. I am still waiting for word of its arrival after a week. Stitched the same design as the first MIA piece from the same theme but finished differently. And I never got mine. In fact, the recipient never acknowledge if she ever did receive this which I am pretty sure she did and twice because this was mailed registered !
Another bake that was a bit disappointed, Sugee cake that was a bit too dry

More on Halloween

The mailman delivered this cute package at my doorstep some weeks ago. It came from Kathy, USA, my HoE Halloween exchange partner. She sent me a wonderful pillow in a draw string pouch with words like spooky, black cat, pumpkin patch splashed all over it. Absolutely loved the design she stitched for me. Wished I got a better snap of the pouch which is beneath the pillow.Yesterday I received another package which I thought look rather familiar. Imagine me staring at my own handwritting !! its my Halloween package, mailed 6 October, left for USA came home to me as it could not be deliver to its rightful owner. This has been sorted out and will travel again. Luckily this package is registeredHere are some details on Nymph. This is how she looked before she was put together. If you are interested to crochet one, I hope this sort of give you an idea.I am sorry I can't provide the pattern because I didn't get it from any where and I do not know if there's any similar pattern out there. I crocheted Nymph intuitively, frogging twice on the head, twice on the first arm, twice on the first leg and she had four nose job because its either too small or too big. The body was initially the head which I found it a bit too big, I even altered her hat three times. Minus the hat, she is now 8" tall ~ standing .I like Nymph standing instead of sitting, which she didn't sit quite well anyway, so she went into surgery, had both legs removed and then stitched back on. She was given a face minus a mouth since I could not figured it out yet as to how it should be. And Nymph was so thrilled to be able to see that she went chasing a golden toad but found it ain't breathing before turning her back to gather some amethyst crystals for a spell. LOL!After all her body parts are put together, I crocheted in chain stitches and in black yarns a sleeveless dress. For her crowning glory, I gather enough yarns and pile it on her head and sew running stitches in the middle of her head down to the back. Diane had asked for a broom. Now , that I haven't figured how to make one. She also complained that Nymph's is exposed at you know where, so be reminded to crochet the bottom half of the body in black yarns or better still the entire body with black yarns for some saving on yarns since you can make do without a dress. Just a thought.

Feared Lost !!
The Mail Art for the Halloween Theme with Mail Art Friends group that was mailed on the 10th, this went inland to a neighbouring state is yet to surface. I have doubts, that it ever will where it was suppose to be, sigh! Its been 2 weeks since and I think that is rather long for an inland mail
to travel, unless someone in the PO is sleeping on it. Sigh!
Design by Heart in Hand Needleart's Halloween marking series, design name Haunted house and added a pumpkin, including the back from the design Full Moon, Ink Circles - September 2010 JCS Halloween issue. The small tree on the back flap is something I made up, then I finished it off and lined the MA in black and purple fabric. I was not allowed to Registered it by the 2 lady clerks at the KLCC PO, which will provide tracking and a secured posting. Since I had little things inside , it made the envelope bulky, I knew it look tempting, but I was trusting those people whom our mails are in their care. Now, I also feared for the MA below, whom a friend had ask me to help mail on behalf of her client.I hope this under the International mail will not share the same faith as mine, fingers and toes crossed that this MA will arrive safely, or I just don't know how I will face this friend again.

Finally, I stole the snap of my Pink Mail Art that the front was missing, sorry, the snap was a bit blurry, but its better than no keeps at all.
Some Halloween stitching to share.
Full Moon design by Ink Circles, Tracy from the 2010 Halloween JCS issue. This took me some four weeks to complete. Yes, i'm afraid my needle is getting rustyAnother in progress piece that was on my to do list for quite awhile. Hocus Pocus, LK both on 28ct Jobelean evenweave. My choice of DMCs. This has been close to 2 weeks .

Thank you for stopping by with your lovely comments, hope everyone has a great weekend !
