All models are 3D printed. Designs by Iain Lovecraft from the 'Treasure Island' and ' Dark Alley' ranges, only exception are the tentacles, which are free files from Thingiverse. Bases are resin casts from Miniature Art, only exception is the base of the dancing couple.

A few little tinkering jobs in spooky October to bring a bit of a scary feeling to the gaming table.

 

Lady Leonora Croft, a British archaeologist, has set up camp in the ruins of the Abbey of St. Bernulf somewhere in the forests of Franconia. She wants to get to the bottom of the mystery of the Howling Woman, a local myth. In the woods around the abbey, the apparition of an old woman dressed in black is said to be seen again and again. Anyone who encounters her alone only hears her ghastly screech and then disappears without a trace.

With the creature and the bride, the little project is now complete. For the first time I made all the figures and props with the Resindrucker, only the base plate came from the good old filament printer. The 3D models are all available for free at MyMiniFactory. I still have great respect for the resin print, the stuff is unfortunately not harmless in the liquid state and you can not just print (as with filament), but must be meticulously observed any safety measures, so as not to irreversibly damage themselves and the environment in the long term. Once cured with UV light, resin loses its terror completely. The current resin printers make things much easier and fluffier to handle, but filament is just child's chocolate in comparison. However, one is rewarded for the effort with models that are hardly distinguishable from industrially produced figures and often enough would not even be available in stores because they are "too niche". The small Frankenstein project is then again the dusty corner of the niche in the niche of the niche.
The figures will certainly end up in a small one-shot scenario on the gaming table, but were primarily for me as a fan of the story of the "modern Prometheus" a matter of the heart. And if you haven't read Mary Shelley's novel yet, you should do so. It's worth it.

September 1895: The missionary Francois Flambeux left for an unexplored part of the central African jungle after he heared rumours about a cult worshipping ancient idols. It was told that these deities had unspeakable names and were so terrifying in appearance that every intruder would become insane ain an instant when he would see them.
It was eight weeks later that the Belgian governor decided to send a seeking mission after him and recover flambeux if possible. if not, their task was to take revenge and end the evil doers existence as well as uncover the secrets of that cult.
September 1895: Der Missionar Francois Flambeux macht sich in einen unerforschten Teil des zentralafrikanischen Dschungels auf, nachdem er Gerüchte über einen gottlosen Eingeborenenstamm gehört hat, die Götzenbilder anbeten sollen. Diese Götzen sollen unaussprechliche Namen haben und so grauenerregend anzusehen sein, dass Eindringlinge bei ihrem Anblick sofort dem Wahnsinn anheimfallen sollen.
Acht Wochen vergehen bis sich der belgische Zentralgouverneur entschließt einen Suchtrupp zu entsenden und dem Spuk ein Ende zu bereiten. Man befürchtet für das Schicksal Flambeuxs das Schlimmste, ist jedoch wild entschlossen ihn zu finden und das Geheimnis dieses unheimlichen Kultes zu lüften.
Doc had made the scenario for being played with the Congo rules and Michi prepared the gaming table. Long story short: Michi's Cannibals were annihilated by Doc's Belgians without much of any resistance. The missionary was liberated and guided home.
Doc hatte das Szenario für Congo ausgearbeitet und Michi den Spieltisch vorbereitet. Das Spiel verlief äußerst schnell und erfolgreich für Doc, jedoch katastrophal für Michi. Die Würfelergebnisse führteh zur beinahe kompletten Auslöschung des Kannibalenstammes, sowie zur Befreiung des armen Missionars.
Michi wanted to build a white man in trouble as an objective for Congo or other pulp games in colonial settings. An explorer about to be cooked seemed an appropriate choice.
Michi wollte schon lange einen gefangenen europäischen Abenteurer für Congo oder andere Spiele in kolonialem Ambiente basteln. Ein Forscher im Kochtopf erschien eine naheliegende Wahl.
Der Kochtopf ist eine ausgehöhlte Papierkugel auf einem Steinkreis in Sand, in die der nackte Oberkörper einer Zinnfigur mit einem behelmten Kunstharzkopf geklebt wurde.
The clay cauldron is made from a paper maché ball in a circle of small stones, embedded in sand. An unclad lead torso with a resin head was glued into it.

The French Foreign Legion expedition is ready for some serious adventure in the darkest heart of Africa. It consists of 5 Askari, 4 trained Askari, 5 Ruga-Ruga, 4 Soldiers, 2 Bearers, 1 Scientist and 1 Explorer.

Miniatures are from Artizan (Copplestone Castings), but are packed in a Africa range box by Northstar.

Painting time for all 22 figures incl. basing was about 50 hours in total.

Jedes Teil ist in der Schachtel mindestens doppelt vorhanden, so dass man eine ganze Menge Plastik für sein Geld erhält. Der Zusammenbau ist unkompliziert und mit den üblichen Bemaltechniken lassen sich schnell ansprechende Geländeteile herstellen, die prima die Sichtlinien versperren und immer wieder neu arrangiert werden können. Michi hat sich gedacht, dass das für einen viktorianischen Friedhof ein tolles Steampunk-Ambiente abgeben würde, genauso gut wie eine nette Szenerie für Frostgrave und andere fantastische Abenteuer.
