I have a mish-mash of photos and critters, sharing birds from my backyard and some from my archives. I am happy that I do not have to go further than my back yard to enjoy nature.
1. The Peacock is a regular visitor to our yard especially on the milder weather days. He landed on top of our car one day.
Another day we came home from dialysis and he was on our deck railing.
2. The Cardinal likes to sit in our blueberry bush, maybe protection from raptors or the mean Mockingbird.
We saw the Turkey Vultures in the woods next to our house, one day they feasted on a deer carcass on the road across from our house.
3. Some of my backyard birds on the feeders are the Carolina Chickadee and the American Goldfinch.
4. More of my backyard feeders birds, the Dark-eyed Junco, Downy Woodpecker, White-throated Sparrow and a Carolina Wren.
Below are various Nuthatches, three are seen either in my backyard or in Southern Maryland and one was seen in Colorado in the Rocky Mountain NP.
First is the Brown-headed Nuthatch seen in the Blackwater Wildlife Refuge in Cambridge Maryland. I have seen this bird more along the coastal areas of the Mid-Atlantic states.
I am linking up to Heidrun's Mosaic Monday I hope you can stop by and visit Heidrun and check out the Mosaic Monday post.
