Have a great Friday night!
I'm killing time before my most favorite bebe Amy arrives for a night of dinner and shopping. I'm broke as a joke, so I really don't need to do any shopping, but considering the shit week I had, I'm going to throw caution to the wind and just have a nice time.
Today was probably the best day out of this past week, which isn't saying much. It wasn't bad, though, so that's always a plus. My morning began with a little talk with my boss. She told me some of my co-workers have approached her with the complaint (four of them, actually) that I've been very unapproachable lately. Monday was the straw that broke the camel's back, I guess. I'm upset that my co-workers didn't tell me themselves that I've been difficult to work with, and I'm upset that my boss didn't tell me immediately after these complaints were made - if not after the first, certainly after the second. Why let negative behavior continue when a simple heads-up will do? I have had things on my mind, and I know I let personal issues affect my mood at work, but it happens to everyone. I just need to be more conscious of it, though, and make a better effort of slaping on a smile and pleasant attitude no matter how shitty I'm feeling. I shared the situation with Adam this afternoon and he suggested I start curtsying and responding with shit like, "Will that be all, Madam?" Somehow I have a feeling that won't go over too well. At least they're not bitching that I walk to the copier too slowly!
On the positive side of things, I have to say that I feel so lucky to have L. as a friend and co-worker. In the time we've been working together (almost two years!!), she's become one of my closest friends. I love that we can work together and still enjoy spending time together outside of work. It's nice to know that we relate to each other so well and use our friendship to our advantage as co-workers. If you read this, L., know that I think you're wonderful and I find myself very fortunate to work with you and call you my friend.
I still have Gmail invitations. If you want one, let me know. If you know of anyone who wants one, have them drop by.
As you can tell (unless you're reading this via a newsreader), I've changed the look just a bit. I took yonder photo last December while driving through Texas to San Marcos for Jr.'s graduation. At the time, I was fresh in love with that boy, and I titled the photo "Wish You Were Here." It's still one of my favorite photos.
It seems as though I'm rambling as I wait, so I'll spare you the torture and end this here. I'm taking the S30 with me, so with a bit of luck, I'll return with some interesting photos of my night out. I'll also have my phone, of course, so the moblog may be updated, as well.
Good Thing I Don’t Watch Much TV Anymore -f
Executions aren’t televised, but this guy became such a celebrity that I wouldn’t be surprised if they made it a prime-time special, complete with production numbers and e-mail messages scrolling across the bottom of the screen.
The question mark in this category is there because, well, just because I think something’s funny doesn’t mean it is. Well, it does mean it is, but other people are entitled to their humor-challenged opinions.
But there’s never any challenge when it comes to Day By Day, so for this entry, and any others presenting a DbD cartoon, consider the question mark excised.
