Special Anniversary Card

Hello friends.  I have a special anniversary card to share today.  This one is for my pastor and his wife who are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary this week.

I used an older Poppystamps die  (Floral Cake Pop Up Easel set) from 2019.  I have had it for several years but this is the first time I have used it.  I altered it a little by making it a top fold card.  I cut the die a little over half way and then reinserted it to cut the other half so it would stand up when opened.  The original is like an easel card.  I lightly inked around the middle layer with Purple Posy ink so it would stand out better.  The top layer is in two sections and with the ruffle border, it does look like a cake.  The flowers from the same set were cut from Purple Posy card and layered together.  I inked some of them for a little variation.  The leaves were cut from Pear Pizzazz card.  After gluing the flowers and leaves on, I added a golden rhinestone to the centers of the flowers.  I stamped the sentiment (Verve) in Highland Heather ink.  I blended Purple Posy ink on a scrap of Purple Posy card and die cut the 50 with some older number dies by Momenta.  I really like the finished card and will have to use this die set again.

I will link to Triple B Challenge - Birds, Blooms, Butterflies

and to Darnell's NBUS Challenge

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Seize the Birthday - Add a Heart

Hello friends.  It is Thursday and time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday.  I am the hostess this time and since it is the day before Valentine's Day, I thought "Add a Heart to your card" was the perfect topping.  Of course, if your not into our "Topping" it can be our usual "Anything Goes" birthday.

After looking through my many heart dies and stamp sets, I finally settled on this one from Poppystamps - Floral Lace Heart Split Border die.  I have had it for quite some time but this is the first time I have used it and I really like the results.  After die cutting it from white card stock, I embossed it with SU Subtle EF (ret.) and then mounted it to a Pretty in Pink card base.  I found these cute flower dies (Spellbinders Petite Floral Potpourri) that are similar to the ones in the heart so I die cut two of them from the Pretty in Pink and mounted them on the edge of the heart, adding 3 die cut leaves from the same set.  I added a rhinestone to the centers for a little bling.  The sentiment is from a SU set, as is the die used to cut it.  I put it back in the die to shorten it some and then mounted it with foam tape.

I will add this to Darnell's NBUS as this is the first time using the heart border die.

and to the Double D Challenge - Hearts theme

Now check out all the great cards by the team and our party guests over at Seize the Birthday.  I hope you will join us in this fun challenge.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Happy Anniversary for Friends

Hell friends.  I am sharing an anniversary card I made for some good friends.  I hope you like it.

I used Spellbinders Club Blooms for the pretty flowers.  I die cut them in an off-white cardstock and then sponged Calypso Coral ink in the centers.  I also sponged a strip of the cardstock and then die cut the small buds.  I layered the blooms together and added a fancy rhinestone to the center of the large flower.  I die cut the leaves and stems from SU Pear Pizzazz cardstock.  The frame is cut with Poppy Stamps Geometric Deco Plate - I didn't use the center section.  I glued it to my card base and then glued the blooms on.  I sponged a little of the Calypso Coral ink where I wanted the sentiment then stamped it using an older Verve stamp set.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Happy Anniversary

Hello friends.  Today I am sharing an anniversary card I made for my daughter and son-in-law.  Their anniversary is next week.

The colors are teal in person but show up blue in the photo.  Teal was the main color in their wedding so I always try to use that color.  I had to use my new Poppystamps Double Diamond Lattice Plate die and placed it over some paper from my stash.  Next I cut a fancy rectangle with SU Ornate Layers die and stamped the sentiment from SU Many Mates.  The flower is from Altenew Book Engravings. It is a layered stamp but I only used the outline and first layer with Island Indigo ink, stamped off once, as it was too dark full strength.  I used my aqua brush to spread the ink a little over the white areas. The leaves from the same set are colored with alcohol markers. The flower is mounted with foam tape.  As a final touch I added some older small enamel dots.

I used the sketch from The Paper Players for the design of my card.

Just Us Girls - Inlay Die Cuts

Hello friends.  I am sharing a card I made for Just Us Girls - Inlay Die Cuts challenge.
I just got this Poppy Stamps Susanna Blossom die and thought it would be perfect to use for this challenge.  I die cut it once out of the white panel and then embossed the panel with the SU Tufted EF (love this EF).  I die cut an extra flower and colored it with alcohol markers and then glued the two layers together and placed them back in the cut out.  You can see that it is raised a little.  I even saved the small white cut out piece at the bottom of the big leaves and glued it in place.  The sentiment is from Gina K. Designs Stippled Flowers.  I added a pearl to the flower center and 3 small pearls on the background for a little bling.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you have a blessed day.

Seize the Birthday - Layer It

Hello Friends and Happy New Year.  We are starting a New Year, New Blog Design and new challenge at Seize the Birthday.  How do you like our new blog design?

Ashwini has chosen "Layer It" as our toppings option (she also created our new blog design and name badges - thank you so much Ashwini).  This card was made for our piano player at church - she loved it.
For my card I layered 2 of the SU Daisy Lane die cuts stamped in Petal pink, and then added a gold gemstone to the center.  The leaves are punched from Mossy Meadow.  I also layered the Petal Pink and Mossy Meadow panels which have been die cut with a border die from the Good Morning Magnolia bundle.  The pink panel has been embossed with Pinewood Planks EF (retired).   The strip of pattern paper is from the Magnolia Lane DSP.   The sentiment is a Poppystamps  die.

Now check out all the fabulous cards by my teammates over at Seize the Birthday, and our Surprise Party Guest, Joyce Mehrber.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I appreciate you taking the time to leave a comment, it makes my day.  I hope you have a wonderful day.

JUGS - Stacking Die Cuts

Hello friends.  I have an anniversary card I made for friends using the Just Us Girls Challenge - Stacking Die Cuts.  I finished my card just in the nick of time.
I used the cute Stitched Posies dies by Lil' Inker Designs and extra leaves by Impression Obsession.  I die cut the flowers in MFT Summer Splash and Tropical Teal card and stacked them together with a small pearl in the centers.  The leaves are die cut from SU Pear Pizzazz and Wild Wasabi.  The pretty die cut frame is my new die by Poppy Stamps.  I embossed the larger panel with SU Tufted EF (love this EF) .  I die cut it and added foam tape to the outside layer and added that to a Summer Splash panel stamped with the Mesh Background stamp by MFT.  I than glued the center panel flat and stamped with Stampendous Happy Anniversary.  I also added 3 small pearls to that panel.  So, the frame panel is stacked and the flowers are stack.  I really like how the card turned out.

I am also adding this to The Flower Challenge - Anything Goes.

Happy Anniversary for The Flower Challenge

Hello friends.  I am sharing an anniversary card I made for a couple at church and am linking it up at The Flower Challenge - Add Sparkle.

The flowers are from Gina K. Designs Whimsical Wildflowers bundle.  I stamped them in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, colored with Copics and die cut them with the matching die.  I added colored rhinestones to the flower centers and Wink of Stella for sparkle, then mounted them with foam tape.  The sparkle shows up in the photo below.

The white panel is cut with Poppystamps Tulisa Collage die and is mounted to a SU Smokey Slate card base.  The sentiment is a stamp from Hobby Lobby and is mounted with foam tape also.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderful day.

Seize the Birthday - Rainbow

Hello and happy Thursday.  It's time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and this time we have the "Toppings" option of Rainbow.  Of course it is always "anything goes" as long as it is for a birthday.

For my card I used a piece of watercolor paper and applied several colors in a rainbow fashion.  I then used Poppystamps Happy Birthday die to cut out the sentiment and glued it to a panel embossed with a We R Memory Keepers EF.  I stamped the flowers and leaves from a retired SU set, Secret Garden, in matching ink colors to go with the rainbow theme.  I shaped the flower petals and then added a pearl to the centers.  I really like how it turned out and hope the recipient does also.

Now be sure to check out all the lovely "rainbow" cards over at Seize the Birthday.  I hope you will join us.  Can't wait to see what you create.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Happiest of Birthdays to You

Hello friends.  It is Thursday and time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday.  This time it is "Anything Goes" as long as it is a birthday project.

Here is my card:

I stamped and embossed the flowers and leaves from Poppy Stamps Little Kindness set on vellum.  I inked the backs of the flowers with SU Regal Rose and the leaves with SU Gumball Garden inks and then die cut them with the matching Poppy Stamps Little Kindness die set.  I added a flatback pearl to the center of the flowers.  The sentiment from SU Birthday Blooms is stamped in SU Smokey Slate ink and die cut with MFT Stitched Mini Scallop Oval.  I mounted this on foam tape and added the flowers and leaves to the left side.  The DSP is some older SU Pretty In Pink, matted with matching CS.

Now check out all the fabulous cards by the designers over at Seize the Birthday.  I hope you will play along with us.

Anniversary Wishes for JUGS

I used this week's challenge at Just Us Girls-hearts to make an anniversary card for a couple at church. The hearts theme made it perfect for an anniversary card.
I used my new Inlay Heart die from Poppystamps.  First I cut if from white CS, and then from SU Lost Lagoon CS.  I fussy cut around the Lost Lagoon heart and then glued it over the white heart after stamping the white panel with MFT Balloon Strings Background stamp in Pool Party ink.  I added a piece of DSP under the heart cutout and adhered the panel to SU Pool Party CS base.  I added Eyelet Outlet glitter enamel dots to the center of the hearts.  The photo does not do the card justice as it is so much prettier IRL.  The sentiment is from Verve's Everlasting Love set stamped in Lost Lagoon ink.  I cut this with an MFT Pierced Fishtail Flags die, placed it back in the die and cut the other end.  I fussy cut the mat from Lost Lagoon CS and then mounted it with foam tape.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

25 Days of Christmas Tags

I just found Tracey McNeely"s challenge for 25 Days of Christmas Tags.
They are on Day 10 but this is my first tag.  I was inspired by Birgit's lovely tag on Day 2.

I used my new  Poppystamps Main Street Stitched Tag; Cottage Cutz Christmas Cheer Candles die; and Impression Obsession Peace die.  I cut the largest tag die out of gold foil cardstock and the next size down out of white cardstock.  The candles are cut from various cardstocks.  I added red pearls to the holly leaves.  I really like how the tag turned out.

I hope I can create more tags for Tracey's challenge.  You can check out all the details and play along here.

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.
