Colouring Fun!

Hello lovely people.  I have not been about much on blogger recently.
The weather has been exceptionally good here in the UK!
I can't remember a recent summer like this one and we have been off out and about.
The garden is an explosion of colour and is also taking up a lot of my time.
I have managed to do a little late night colouring!
My project is a mixed media creation made just for fun and for The Daily Marker 30 Day Challenge.

The sweet image is from the Coloriage Wild pad and has a base coat of Copic marker, then FC Prismacolour pencils to add detail, tone and shape.
There is also some white and black gel pen definition.  I have been practising with charcoal pencils and would really like to sketch with these.  I added some hair detail with charcoal and made a lot of mess and smudgy fingerprints over the background.
She was therefore fussy cut and put onto a watercolour background which had been coloured and stamped with Distress Inks.
The background was embossed to add detail and interest and the image added on top.
I am really pleased with the finished results!

This is the image as a work in progress.  You can see how the extra detail and the background warms the colour tones.
This image has been one of my all time favourites to colour!

 Happy crafting fun to all!

Hope you are all having a fabulous summer (where it is summer)!

June Poppy!

Hello to all.  A quick post today sharing a sweet Coloriage Wild image with Copic marker and Faber Castell Polychromos pencil colouring.

I really love these image, as you may have noticed.  They are fabulous fun to colour and the book is made from good quality paper.
This project has been made for The Daily Marker 30 Day Color Challenge.
I have enjoyed participating once again in the June daily colouring.  The inspiration and encouragement provided by the challenge has been so appreciated.

Showing the colouring in progress.  I laid down a base coat of marker colour and then detailed with pencils.

Hello to all! Its time for some mid-challenge inspiration from the Aurora Wings Stella DT for the Joyous Occasions challenge.  I hope you will join us for this fun challenge!

My husband and I will be celebrating 42 years of marriage this month and I thought that this would make a beautiful anniversary card for a best beloved!  The image is coloured mostly with Copic markers and I have added little touches of sparkle pen and glitter detail.

Lovely Lillies!

Hello to all.  I spent a lovely relaxing afternoon yesterday colouring this sweet image from Coloriage Wild.  I really enjoy colouring these pages.  The paper is the most amazing quality!   I have coloured the image and flowers with FC Prismacolour pencils.

The image has been placed on a blue mat background to make a CAS project to showcase the image.

A closer look at this sweet image. She really is a beauty!

Hello lovely people.  I hope you are getting to enjoy some of the lovely weather we have been having in the UK!
I have not been crafting or on the internet much over the last week.
We have been off out and about and had a lovely time.

I have managed to do some colouring in the evenings and would like to share this cute image from Coloriage Wild.  The image is coloured with pencils, with touches of white gel detail.
The background is various distress inks and a spot stencil.
I am pleased with the shaby/chic look created.

It looks really lovely in real life!

A Spring Thank You!

Hello to all.  I am back with an update on my cute freehand Easter bunny sketch.
I finished colouring his fur and added some further depth and dimension to his head and ears.
This project has been so much fun and I have enjoyed creating this illustration/artwork.

Bertram Bunny is the main focus for the card.  This is an Easter specific project but would be useful for a general 'Thank You' card.

Materials list:
Freehand sketch with graphite and Polychromos pencil
Coredinations card and designer papers
Stamped tag, distress inks, flowers, gems and burlap ribbon from my stash.
Wood grain embossing folder detail applied with Tim Holtz texture hammer.

A picture of Bertram as a work in progress.
A light sketch was drawn to place his features and outline shape in graphite pencil.
The infill continues with Polychromos pencils to create fur detail and depth and shade!

The Easter Bunny visits!

Hello to all.  I have had a very busy week and lots going on.  I stole half an hour for some freehand sketching this afternoon.  I was so pleased with what appeared on the paper that I thought I would share it with you.

This is Bertram Bunny.  He is a freehand sketch with graphite pencil and further detail with Polychromos pencils.
He is my first Easter Bunny and I will try and get him finished for the end of the week.

Hope this finds you all well!

A little freehand sketching- Robin!

Hello to all!
I have not drawn any freehand art for quite a while.
This is my first attempt at sketching and colouring a Robin.
The CAS card has been created for my husband.

Materials are:
Stamping card
Faber Castell Polychromos pencils
White gel pen
Black Matt cardstock for base.

Here he is as a work in progress.
You can see the details of my sketch lines.
I added a little more depth and colour to his red breast!

Challenges entered:

We have robins in the garden all year round.
They are particularly attached to my husband, who looks after them very well.
We also have an array of blackbirds etc. Last summer we had 4 huge blackbird chicks in the rose bush. They were massive and reluctant to go forth and fend for themselves.
I think a couple of them have returned for the winter.
We have a huge dominant male blackbird, he is beautiful! We call him Larryson, as we think he is the son of Larry, the blackbird we fed previously.
Enough of my waffle, this has been made for my husband. Hope he likes it!

Colouring Book Practice!

Hello to all!  Sharing a little colouring book practice with you all today!
It was miserable yesterday, cold, wet, with at one point huge hailstones.
I stayed warm and cosy in my craft room and coloured this amazing image from Coloriage Wild.

This colouring pad from Emmanuelle Collin is full of delicious images and I am enjoying working my way through these!
The image is coloured with Faber Castelle Polychromos pencils.

I will be entering this in The Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge.
We are now on Day 29, tomorow will be the final day.
I have not managed to submit a colouring every day, but most days.
You can see these on my Instagram account.
Its been loads of fun and I can't wait for the next one! Thank you to Kathy of The Daily Marker for running the event!

Going Coloriage Wild!

Hello to all.  My card share for today features one of the beautiful images from the Coloriage Wild colouring pad by Emmanuelle Colin (thank you Santa!).
This pad is choc full of cute, fabulous images printed on superior quality papers.  A complete and utter joy to colour!

A real spring thing going on here, so the colours are bright and beautiful.
The new Daily Marker 30 day Challenge has just started on FB and Instagram.
I coloured this last night so that I could join in.
Materials used:
Coloriage Wild - Emmanuelle Colins
Faber Castelle Polychromos Pencils
Green backing card and colourful dots.
White dots are made by dabbing with rubber masking gum which was removed after colouring (a sort of reverse bokeh effect).

I can't tell you how delighted I am with this book and will be sharing lots more colourings as I get back into the swing of things.

Happy crafting fun to all!
