MXGA: Make the X-Men Great Again 😂

This old fan letter from the Claremont and Cockrum days of the Uncanny X-Men feels right at home in 2019, don't it?

THROWBACK THURSDAY: GIANT-SIZE X-MEN #1

I ran across this audio dramatization of Giant-Size X-Men #1 today while I was writing my Daily Sketch email, and I just HAD to share:

Which One of Mike Hawthorne's X-Men Re-Designs Do You Like Best?

I came across some of Mike Hawthorne's Exalted X-Men redesigns this morning on Facebook and was like "Hmm... Good stuff."  But when I saw this Storm redesign, I just HAD to share!

STORM deserves her own book... but HEY, here's X-Men Gold #34. That's just as good, right?

Am I the only one exasperated by the fact that Marvel can't make a Storm solo book work?  No.  No I'm not.  Anyways, here's a preview of X-Men: Gold #34.

The second-to-last issue Greg Pak's STORM solo comic is in stores now. And it looks AWESOME!

Okay, so STORM is definitely going away after issue twelve, along with a bunch of other books ahead of the big Marvel Secret Wars thing (don't ask...). I'm not sure if the plan is to bring STORM back for a new number one, but I know my vote...
Anyways, here's a preview of STORM #11...

You had me at "World War Wendigo"... OR... PREVIEW- Amazing X-MEN #11

Because you are not a recovering Marvel Zombie like me, you might not know that the Wendigo is a mystical cannibalistic spirit that possesses people and transforms them into super-strong rampaging white wookies. But only in Canada, because it's magic. CANADIAN magic, son! Anyways, one Wendigo can give the Hulk a good slapping around, so you don't want none of the Wendigo blitzkrieg they are dealing with in Amazing X-men #11, which is part 4 of the 5 part World War Wendigo storyline (so you consider yourself alerted to the spoilers in this preview)...

My concerns about STORM, and 4 things @Marvel should do about it

I bought the first couple issues of STORM, the new ongoing series about Marvel's most prominent female super hero. I enjoyed them both, especially the first one. But there's definitely something bothering me about this series already...

Is X-(wo)Men as dope as it appears to be?

This fresh cover by Team Dodson drew me into this preview of X-(wo)Men #19 by Marc Guggenheim and company.

Can STORM live up to expectations?

I haven't bought a Marvel comic in a long time, but the debut this week of Storm's new ongoing comic by Greg Pak and Victor Ibanez might be more than I can resist...

Wolverine vs The Black Panther. FIGHT!

Three of my favorite Marvel Universe characters (Storm, Wolverine and T'challa the Black Panther) are on the cover of Wolverine #8 (I guess this is the New 52 Wolverine or something... I haven't been paying attention), and it features the mighty Alan Davis/Mark Farmer amalgam on the art. I'm still not gonna buy it, but thanks for trying Marvel!

PREVIEW- X-(Wo)Men #1, featuring (mohawk) Storm, and the return of Jubilee

For decades, Marvel's X-men has been the gold standard for diversity in comics. And I'm not just talking racial, national, and ethnic diversity. X-men has always featured the most complex and capable female characters in the superhero genre, so I guess it was just a matter of time before an all-female X-team hit the shelves, led by alpha-female number one, Ororo Munroe, better known as Storm. Here's some preview pages by superstar artist Olivier Coipel...
