Sparkly Snowflake

Hi and welcome to the second-to-last Fusion challenge for the year.  Today I chose to primarily play along with the sketch but also pulled in a couple of colours from the photo.

There's lots of glitter paper on this card so it's very sparkly!  To make this card, I die-cut the silver glitter panel first using the Circle Trio Shaker dies and then used those cut-outs to position the snowflake die on the white panel.  The snowflake die cuts out the snowflake from the main panel leaving behind the negative space which is a cool look.  I then cut the outer frame circle 9 times and stacked three together to create three circles.

I stamped the sentiment and then assembled the card, placing some blue sparkle paper behind the snowflake cut-outs.

Thanks so much for visiting.  I hope you'll check out the wonderful cards made by the rest of the design team.

Products used:

Stamps:  Merry Mistletoe (SSS/Avery Elle)
Ink:  Versafine Onyx Black
Cardstock:  White, Silver Sparkle, Blue Sparkle (MFT)
Dies:  Circle Trio Shaker (MFT), Christmas Circle Cutouts (Impression Obsession)

Missed

Hi and welcome to the last challenge of the year over at Freshly Made Sketches, where our hostess is Jennifer Timko.

Using Jennifer's sketch I made a card for my angel son, Matthew, who would be 23 today, NZ time.  This is a bit of an odd birthday card, but I can't really wish him a happy birthday and this sentiment sums it all up anyway.

Matthew loves sloths so I have bought several sloth stamps over the last 18 months.  I coloured this one with Copics (very rusty colouring!) and fussy-cut the images.  I adhered some patterned paper onto a black panel and then used foam tape to add the sloth pieces.  The card base is pale gray.

Thanks for visiting!  I hope you'll visit the challenge blog and see the cards made by the rest of the design team.  This challenge is open for a few weeks to give people time to join in over the Christmas period.

Products used:

Stamps:  Sloth Peeker (Impression Obsession), Greetings & Salutations (MFT)
Ink:  Amalgam (Gina K), Versamark
Cardstock:  Soft Stone (PTI), Black Licorice (MFT), X-Press It, Whatever the Weather (SugarPea Designs)
Accessories:  White EP, Copics

Sparkle Hello

Hi and welcome to a new challenge from the Fusion team.

I chose to just play along with the sketch this time and came up with this card:

The leaves were made using a technique I saw on a video at Memory Box on using napkins for die-cutting.  I didn't have any white napkins so I used a paper towel instead.  I pulled out my Gansai paints and just slapped on various colors, including gold.

To tie in the gold, I die-cut the sentiment from gold sparkle cardstock.

Thanks for visiting.  Please check out what the rest of the DT have done with this challenge.

Products used:

Cardstock:  White, black, gold sparkle, paper towel
Dies:  Leaves (Impression Obsession), Simply Said Hello & Thank You (MFT), Striped Sentiment Strip (MFT)
Accessories:  Gansai Tambi Paints

Falling Leaves

Hi and welcome!  I'm thrilled to be Guest Designer at Addicted to CAS today.  The team have chosen a fabulous code word, which opens up so many opportunities:

For my card, I wanted to use a panel of alcohol inked Yupo paper from my play session last week.  For this panel, I used oranges and yellows along with some gold mixative.

I die-cut the panel with several leaves dies and set them aside while I worked on the rest of my card.  I die-cut a white panel with the Striped Sentiment Strip die and then gold-embossed this gorgeous sentiment onto the wide panel.  This panel was added to a Hot Fudge card base with foam tape. Then I spent an age arranging the leaves!  I finished the card with some clear Nuvo Crystal Drops.  Here are a couple of different views of the leaves:

Thanks so much for visiting and thanks to the Addicted to CAS team for inviting me to join them!  Head on over and check out their challenge.

I'm linking this up to a few challenges:

Inskpirational have a gorgeous autumn photo inspiration, as do The Card Concept where I'm entering in the Clean and Layered category and Muse card challenge, where I was inspired by Stephanie's leaves, colors and gold embossing.

Blue Leaves

Welcome!  I'm here with a card for the newest Fusion Challenge.  Check out this graphic!

I love both options so much I decided to create a fusion and after playing around with some alcohol inks, I came up with this card:

That tag is so gorgeous in real life.  The blues are so rich and the silver mixative adds such a beautiful metallic look.  I've had alcohol inks since I first began stamping but watching Jennifer McGuire's video a couple of weeks ago inspired me to get them out and get inky and this was one of the panels that resulted.

The leaves were die-cut from patterned and solid paper using some beautiful Impression Obsession die sets.  I sponged around the edges of the leaves to add a bit of dimension and added a tiny twine bow.  The sentiment is silver-embossed onto black and I finished the card with some black Nuvo Crystal Drops - although one of them was a bit bigger than I planned 😄

Thanks so much for visiting!  Head on over and check out what the rest of the DT have done - you'll see a few more fusions and some all-round gorgeous cards!

Knit One

First things first - a message to my mother:  Mum, DO NOT read this blog post as it contains a photo of your Mother's Day card.  Step away from the computer :)

Now back to business.

It's time for my favorite challenge - Freshly Made Sketches.  This week it's my sketch!

In case you haven't realised, this week I've made a Mother's Day card for my mother ;)

My mother is a knitter and when I saw this Impression Obsession stamp called Knit, it was a pretty easy decision to buy it.  I love how realistic it looks!  I combined that stamp with some stamps and dies from Verve called Lean on Me as well as some leaves from Clearly Besotted.  This card is an equal opportunity card!

I colored the flowers with copics and painted them with Wink of Stella.  I then stamped the leaves with Old Olive ink before fussy-cutting them.  I layered these onto a partial circle in Early Espresso.  I kept the sentiment panel nice and simple so that the sentiment stands out.  A few candy dots finishes off the card.

The inside uses a sentiment from SU's Wonderful Mother set:

Thanks for looking.  Head on over and check out the inspiration from the talented design team.  I really hope you give my sketch a go.

Products used:

Stamps:  Lean On Me (Verve), Happy Phrases (Verve), Leafy Accents (Clearly Besotted), Knit (Impression Obsession), Wonderful Mother (SU)
Ink:  Early Espresso, Old Olive, Memento Tuxedo Black
Cardstock:  Early Espresso, Whisper White, Xpress-it
Accessories:  Pointy Flowers die (Verve), Copics, Wink of Stella, Circle Nestabilities, Brights Candy Dots

Cheers
