FAVOURITE EMBOSSING METHOD

Morning Everyone,

First of all I'm sorry if I haven't visited your blogs lately.  Our daughter is getting married on Saturday and things have been a bit hectic with preparations and we have visitors arriving today so lots to do.

We have a new challenge over at As You Like It and we're asking for your favourite embossing method.  Mine is definitely heat embossing, especially on Christmas cards. I love all the shine.

Not had much time for crafting but this card was in my partly made pile so I finished it off for the challenge.  I've heat embossed the background stamp from Pinkfresh Studio and coloured the berries in with copics.  I've also added glossy accents to the berries but this doesn't show in the photo.  The sentiment is an old one from Clearly Besotted, also heat embossed in gold.

METALLIC OR GLITTER CARD STOCK

Morning Everyone,

There is a new challenge starting over at As You Like It and we are asking you to showcase a project using your favourite of either Metallic or Glitter card stock.

I use a lot more metallic than glitter, mainly because I tend to use glitter card only on Christmas cards, but when I heat emboss something mirror card goes so well with it.

For my DT card I have used a Stampin Up Magnolia stamp heat embossed in gold and coloured very lightly in pink and green.  Gold mirri card has been used for the mats and I've just added 6 glitter dots in the same colours.  Very simple, but I am pleased with how it turned out.

I haven't added a sentiment as not yet decided what to use it for.

TWO COLOURS

Morning Everyone,

This is my reminder post for Christmas Craft Creations where the theme this month is 'Two Colours'.

When I made this card earlier in the year I had some leftover embossing that hadn't taken too well and, knowing that this theme was coming up, I made my DT card from what was retrievable.

I cut three small circles with stitched dies and arranged them around the sentiment, which is heat embossed in silver and gold. I matted onto gold sheen cardstock and added a few sparklies.

There are two stamps on offer for the winner and you have until 7th June to enter so plenty of time to join in.

I would like to enter:
Incy Wincy Designs - Use a die cut or punch
Papercraft challenge - Add some bling

Have a good day and I will be back later with another card.

FEBRUARY RUDOLPH DAYS

Morning Everyone,

When I made a previous card here it wasn't my first attempt at embossing the images.  My first try didn't turn out too well so I trimmed the bad parts and made it into a smaller card.  Can't let the good bits go to waste!

The images are from a Simon Says stamp set and I've added shading with copics to some of the baubles for extra interest.  The sentiment is from LOTV and red and gold sequins give it a bit of sparkle.

I would like to enter:

Feb Rudolph Days - Anything Christmas
Simon Says Weds - Anything Goes
Sparkles - Use some gold

Thank you for visiting and have a good week.

FAVOURITE CHRISTMAS SENTIMENT

Morning Folks,

I hope you're keeping well and not too busy with Christmas preparations.  It's our last challenge at As You Like It for this year and we are asking which is your favourite Christmas sentiment?

I do like good old Merry Christmas and this one, which is from the Ornate Ornaments set from Simon Says Stamp always works really well when heat embossing.  I have heat embossed the ornaments in gold and coloured them with Tambai Starry Colours, which are varying shades of gold. The paints are quite shiny irl and I have taken a close up for you to get a better idea.

I fussy cut them and attached to a cream piece of card which had been cut out with a stitched rectangle and added gold twine.

This is a card I've made with gold heat embossed ornaments from Simon Says Stamp.  I have coloured them in slightly with different shades of red, inked round the edges, although you can't see it very well,  and added a few sequins for a bit of sparkle.

I would like to enter:

I've had a busy day today, food shopping and well under way with Christmas shopping, so hoping for an easier day tomorrow.

HAPPIEST OF BIRTHDAYS

 Good Afternoon Everyone,

A lovely sunny day here today.

This is a card made at the weekend with the Sketched Flowers stamp set from Simon Says Stamp.

I have heat embossed it in gold onto Bristol Smooth paper and then coloured with my Zig markers.  I have also  heat embossed the sentiment from the same set and edged the stitched square with strips of gold mirri card.  A few gold sparklies finish it off.

I finally had a cuddle of the new grandson at the weekend as my daughter and o/h tested negative so to get out of their house and get some fresh air they had a walk round to us.

I would like to enter:

Simon Says Stamp Weds - Add a Sentiment

Thank you for visiting and I hope you have a good week.

BEAUTIFUL FLOWERS

 Good Afternoon Everyone,

It's been far too hot for me these last few days and when I started to use my copics one or two of them seemed to be really sticky and not working properly. I'm not sure if it is the heat that affected them, but  I decided to spend Sunday afternoon cleaning them all.  It must have taken me about 3 hours!

Instead of going back to the copics yesterday, I had a play with my Zig clean colour brush markers and this is what I finished up with.

This is a first inking of this Simon Says Stamp set.  I stamped in Versafine black on Bristol Smooth and then clear embossed it.  I've just used one pink marker for the flowers and blue grey for the leaves.  I very tentatively, because I've not done it before,  tried some ink splattering with a small brush and grey ink.  I added two sentiments from LOTV and a few silver sequins.

MORE EMBOSSED CHRISTMAS CARDS

Good Morning Everyone,

I hope you all had a good weekend.  We went out for Sunday lunch yesterday, which was really nice, but other than that it was a fairly quiet one for us.

When I made my last card I decided to use the inner part of the stamp for a smaller card.  I had a rummage in my snippets boxes and found this grey and red piece of card to use.

The cards are only 4" square.  I have heat embossed in white and gold and cut them out with a stitched square die.  The 'Merry'  has been cut from snippets of mirri card and and also a  heat embossed small 'Christmas' sentiment.

I would like to enter:

June Rudolph Days - Anything Christmas goes

CAS FOLIAGE & BERRIES

 Good Morning Everyone,

I've decided I'd like to make a few CAS Christmas cards this year and, after seeing the challenge at the CAS Christmas challenge, this is what I've come up with.

I tried to heat emboss this Winterberry stamp from Pink Fresh Studio onto some textured ivory card but it didn't go too well so I've turned the card over on the smoother side to heat emboss in gold and then I've coloured the berries with red marker pens.   I have a few off cuts from the pieces that didn't work very well so I will probably make a few more with them.  I have matted onto gold mirri card and stamped the sentiment with gold metallic ink.

TREES AT SPARKLES CHRISTMAS

 Good Morning Everyone,

As it is the 1st of the month it is time for a new challenge over at Sparkles Christmas and I have chosen the theme this time as Trees.

For my DT card I have used a HoneyDoo stamp embossed in gold and then very carefully, as it isn't watercolour paper, painted with my Gansai Tambi paints in different shades of gold.  The sentiment comes with the stamp and I've also heat embossed that in gold.   A couple of sequins and little gold stars finish it off.

I hope you can join in this month and look forward to seeing your creations.

GOLD OR SILVER AND/OR GLITTER

Good Morning Everyone,

It is time for a new challenge at Sparkles Christmas and the theme this month is Gold or Silver and/or Glitter.

For my DT card I have used a Penny Black poinsettia which I heat embossed in gold and fussy cut.  The edge die is also from Penny Black and the sentiment, which is also embossed in gold, is from LOTV.   I have added a few sparklies too.

This isn't the original card I made for the challenge as when I saw the original on screen I wasn't happy and decided after much thought to make a fresh one.  It didn't take long as it is very similar to the first but with a slight alteration to the flower and sentiment placement.

Not long to go now to Christmas, but I think sadly  it will be a lot different this year for many of us.

I would like to enter:

Christmas Kickstart - Festive Florals
Classic Design Challenge - Anything Goes
Aud Sentiments - Anything Goes + a sentiment

MAGAZINE FREEBIE

Good Morning Everyone,

I hope you are having a good weekend.  I thought I would share this card with an image which was a magazine freebie first spotted on Jules' lovely card here. I wanted to start making more floral cards and thought it would be perfect.

I have embossed it in gold and coloured with Zig clean colour brush markers.  The red paper, which has faint hearts all over, is from a doodlebug pad and I have cut the image with a shaped mini scalloped die  from MFT.  The sentiment is from LOTV.

I would like to enter this into:

Cupcake Inspirations - 500th Birthday celebrations
Cute Card Thursday - Embossing
Crafty Calendar - Anything Goes
Creative Moments - Anything Goes
Penny Black & More - Say it with Flowers

I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend.  The winds have died down today so a lot more pleasant here and luckily no damage done.

Thank you for taking the time to visit and I will be back later in the week.

DIGI OR STAMPED?

Good Morning Everyone,

It is time for a new challenge over at As You Like It and we would like to see a project using your preference of either digi or stamped images (and don't forget to say why please).

I love both for different reasons, but for my DT card I have used a stamped image.  This was because I wanted to have another play with my Zig clean colour brush pens, which are water based, and I wanted to heat emboss the image before colouring.

I have used Simon Says Stamp Sketched Flowers which I bought for a bargain price from a lady on a Facebook group. I heat embossed in gold and then used various colours for the flowers.  I don't have a lot of the pens so my choice was a bit limited, but I am happy with the result.  I also heat embossed the sentiment which is from a magazine freebie stamp set.

THANK YOU AT AYLI

Good Morning Everyone,

I'm back with a DT card for As You Like It and for this fortnight we would like you to join in with a Thank You project.

For my card I've used my new MFT stamp bought from Dies to Die For called Captivating Mandala.  I've embossed it in white onto grey cardstock and used 3 Distress Oxides to colour.  The sentiment, also heat embossed, is from a Paula Pascual set.

The sponsor for this challenge is Crafty Ribbons with a voucher for the lucky winner.

I would like to enter these challenges:

SANTA AT SPARKLES CHRISTMAS

Good Morning Everyone,

It's the start of a new month which means a new challenge over at Sparkles Christmas and this month the theme is Santa.

For my DT card I've used a Santa from the MFT set Jingle All the Way.  I've used a background stamp purchased on Facebook, which has been heat embossed with clear embossing powder and I've had a little play by colouring in some of the little objects.  This was a bit of an experiment using different types of pens to see which worked best.  I tried copics, glitter pens, coloured pencil and a metallic pen, but everything is so small it's too hard to tell the difference.

Santa was coloured with copics, fussy cut and attached to the card with added  glitter and a little pom pom on his hat. The sentiment, which comes with the set, was heat embossed in gold.

I think I will try this with white embossing next time.

If you have any Santa themed cards we would love to see them, it's certainly not long to go now before we have to start sending them out.

I would like to enter these challenges:

Fab n Funky - Christmas
Simon Says Stamp Weds - Anything Goes
Colour Crazy Craft wk 43 - Anything Goes

A very wet day here and I think it's going to continue over the weekend, but wherever  you are, I hope you have a good one.

BIRTHDAY WISHES

Good Morning Everyone,

I hope you are all well.  I have a floral card to share today made with an old Penny Black wooden stamp called Gossamer.  I stamped it with Versamark and heat embossed in gold and then coloured it with my Zig Clean Colour Brush markers.

I die cut the SSS "Sending" three times, once in lilac, and stuck them together.  The birthday wishes sentiment is also heat embossed in gold.

I hope you like and I would like to enter these challenges:

Stamping Sensations - Anything Goes with Flowers
Allsorts - Feminine
Cute Card Thursday - Anything Goes
Papercraft Challenges - Handmade/Stamped Flowers
Dragonfly Dreams - Happy Birthday

Thank you for visiting and have a lovely weekend.

Silver Christmas

Good Morning Everyone,

My second card this week is similar to my last gold tree card.   I made a silver one at the same time as I knew the July Rudolph days challenge would be coming up and this is it.

I've heat embossed the Stampin Up tree and sentiment in silver and used silver mirri card for the mats.  The large sparkly ribbon was a bit too thick for me to manage a bow, but it will make a good card for posting. There are also 3 little sparklies in each corner and  I think the paper is from First Edition, but not sure.

I would like to enter these challenges:

July Rudolph Days - Anything Christmas
Crimbo Crackers #189 - Anything Christmas
Dream Valley #206 - Christmas in July
Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas - Anything Goes

Thank you for visiting and I love it when you leave a comment.

Have a good week,

INCLUDE A TREE

Good Morning Everyone,

It's the start of a new month so time for a new challenge at Sparkles Christmas and this month we would like your Christmas project to include a tree.

For my DT card I thought I would use my Stampin Up Snow Swirled tree again.  I have heat embossed it in gold, together with the star (which I think is really a snowflake) and the sentiment.

I did have a bit of trouble with the photo as the colour of the black paper didn't seem to come out right, but it's not too bad now.  The paper has tiny sparkly flecky bits on and it looks so pretty in real life.  I've added some gorgeous gold sparkly ribbon from The Ribbon Girl and matted the layers onto gold sheen card.

I hope you can join in this month and for more inspiration from the rest of the team you can pop over to the blog here.

I would like to enter these challenges:

Creative Moments - Anything Goes
Simon Says Stamp Weds - Anything Goes
Ally's Angels - Anything Goes
Crafts Galore - Anything Goes

Thank you for visiting. Have a good week and I will be back on Thursday.

CWTCUTIES - BEGINNING WITH B

Good Morning Everyone,

I hope you had a good weekend and managed to do something you enjoy. I omitted to say thank you to Brenda last time I posted for becoming my latest follower, so thank you and I hope you enjoy seeing my makes.

It's time for our first challenge of the year over at Christmas with the Cuties and for this month we would like to see anything beginning with the letter B.

I've failed a bit in that I've only achieved two B's, Birds on a Branch (although I could say bobbles I suppose), but it was a stamp that I hadn't inked up before and wanted to use it.  It's a Wild Rose Studio stamp coloured with copics and I've added a few little glittery details in the two top corners with some die cut snowflakes and branches.  The papers are from LOTV.  I wasn't too keen on the bottom paper being plain so I've embossed a few clear snowflakes to add a bit of interest.  The sentiment, I think,  is from Digistamp Boutique.

Kraft card was used for the mats and these are the snippets I've used for this card.  I often cut the middles out of my kraft layers as the card gets a bit bulky otherwise, so I end up with quite a few snippets.

Our sponsor this month is:

with a prize for the lucky winner

I hope you can join us this month to get you started with those Christmas cards.

I would like to enter these challenges:

February Rudolph Days - Anything Christmas
Pixies Snippets Playground - snippets used are the kraft pieces, sentiment, snowflakes and white branch.
Aud Sentiments - Bingo and a Sentiment (embossing, Stamp, Faux Stitching)
Papercraft Challenges - All the Critters
Stamping Sensations - All things Bright and Beautiful

Thank you for visiting and all your lovely comments. I will be back later in the week.
