NON CARD PROJECTS AT AYLI

Morning Everyone,

A mew challenge starts today at As You Like It and the theme is  to share your favourite "Non Card Projects".

The only thing I am making at the moment that's not a card are these knitted poppies.  Our village church has put a request in the local magazine for them as they want to make a cascade from the top of the church tower to the ground for Remembrance Day in November.  I thought that gives me plenty of time to make a few so found two different patterns on the internet and these are the first four I've made.

I've actually run out of wool now as I didn't have a full ball so am awaiting a delivery of more tomorrow.

Have a good day and I will be back soon.

MATCHING PAIRS

 Good Morning Everyone,

Happy New Year.

We have a new challenge starting over at Allsorts and the theme is "Matching Pairs" or there is always the option of Anything Goes.

For my pair I have covered a plain white bag with paper from Craft Creations and made a matching tag.
The circle on the bag is a Tattered Lace die, as is the tag, and I have stamped the Merry Christmas, which is from LOTV with silver metallic ink.

My sister in law gave me a lot of the white flowers so I thought as they are glittery I would add a bit of decoration to both bag and tag.  I've changed the handles of the bag to white ribbon.

There are three prizes on offer from Lavinia stamps.

You have two weeks to enter and I hope you can pop over and see the inspiration from the rest of the Design Team.

Thank you for visiting and I will be back later in the week.

FAVOURITE NON CARD PROJECT

Morning Everyone,

It is time for a new challenge at As You Like It  and this time we would like to see your favourite non-card projects.

I have made some fun Christmas  pom pom tags for the younger members of the family.  I always seem to run out of tags and end up making some in a hurry, so I thought I would get ahead of the game this year.  I got the pom pom idea from Pinterest and after searching through my scraps of Christmas papers I found some with suitably small patterns.

They are made by die cutting an oval in white card then cutting it down the middle and fastening the two halves together at the top with a small strip.  Patterned paper was cut with the same oval and glued on.    Turn up cuffs were made by stamping the same sentiment, either in red or by heat embossing in white, and cutting them into small rectangles and adding to the bottom of the hat.  I made small pom poms in colours to match each tag and glued them on together with twine.  The insides of the tags have been left blank for my own message.

MONEY WALLET

 Morning Everyone,

Back again and this time it is the start of a new challenge at As You Like It where we would like to see your favourite way to decorate a money wallet or gift card holder.

When we give money for birthdays it always goes in the birthday card (not through the post though) so if I do make a money wallet it is always at Christmas time when cards have already been sent and the wallet doesn't get opened until Christmas day.

I have made a pretty pink one here for one of the girls with a sheet from a First Edition 8"x8" pad.  I followed the basic instructions on a Youtube video and made a band to keep it closed with a Spellbinders poinsettia attached, which I have decorated with glitter and pearls.  The Merry Christmas is stamped in metallic silver.

The sponsor for the challenge is:

with a voucher for the lucky winner.

I would like to enter this into:

May Rudolph Days - Anything Christmas

Simon Says Monday - Not a Card

Thank you for taking the time to visit and have a good day.

FAVOURITE WAY TO DECORATE A GIFT

Good Morning Everyone,

It's the start of a new challenge at As You Like It and for this challenge we are asking you to show us your favourite way to decorate a gift.

When I give either of my daughters something like jewellery I like to put it into a pretty gift bag to make it look more special, much better than a tiny little square box.

I have covered a small gift bag, which is about 4.5" x just under 6" with pink card and cut a piece of Stampin Up specialty paper for each side.  I have decorated one side only with some pretty flowers, shiny leaves and silver beads.  The sentiment has been heat embossed in silver.  The curly ribbon just happened to be in the craft room and suited this perfectly, but I would normally just put tissue paper in the top.

FAVOURITE NON CARD PROJECT

Good Morning Everyone,

It it time for a new challenge at As You Like It and the theme is "Favourite Non Card Project", not necessarily paper craft, it can be any type of hobby.

I normally would say cross stitch, but I haven't done any for ages. I do like making Christmas decor though so I can bring it out each year and it seems like new again, if you see what I mean.

I've had this box frame in the craft room for ages and can't even remember why it was originally there so I decided to make a Christmassy thing with it.  I used a few dies, stamps, a diamanté snowflake received in a kit, which I wouldn't put on a card and a flower which seemed too big to go on any of my cards.

It was really hard to get a good photo of it as I kept seeing my reflection in the glass, but it does look really nice and sparkly in real life.

ANYTHING BUT A CARD

Good Morning Everyone,

It is time for my reminder post for Christmas Craft Creations where the theme is "Anything But a Card".

We give our grown up children money as well as a few presents so I decided to make a money gift envelope. I had a look at measurements on Pinterest and scored my white card and decorated with papers from the Snow Princess pad from LOTV.  I didn't have anything to fasten it with so make a band to match and added two small glittery flowers and a foliage die cut from my little box of unused bits.

This is the only one I've made so I'll probably have to get my skates on to make another so at least the 2 girls have one to open.

Not long to go now until the big day.  I've been busy on-line shopping for presents this year but will have to venture out when we are able to to get a few extra little bits.

Thank you for taking the time to visit and I hope you will be able to join us this month.

NON CARD PROJECTS AT AYLI

Good Morning Everyone,

It is time for another challenge over at As You Like It and we would like you to show us your favourite non card projects (and don't forget to tell us why please).

Recently mine has been finishing Sam in the picture.  I found him half made in a bag of materials when I was having a sort out, together with the pattern.   I couldn't believe it when I saw the magazine that it was over 20 years ago when I made Sally and she has been waiting for Sam all that time!   I thought it was about time I finished him so Sally could have a companion to sit with in the craft room.

The sponsor for the challenge is:

ANYTHING BUT A CARD AT CWTCUTIES

Good Morning Everyone,

I hope you've had a good weekend.  We were out at a quiz on Saturday night, very enjoyable but didn't do very well I'm afraid.

Anyway, it's time for the start of another challenge over at Christmas with the Cuties and the theme is Anything But a Card, so as long as it's cute and is a christmas project, we would love you to join in

I decided on a small gift bag that I had and used an image kindly provided by our lovely sponsors at Crafty Sentiments. I've coloured him with copics, distressed the edges of the papers and added faux stitching with a gel pen on the blue paper, which was a freebie from a magazine.  I also glittered up 2 die cut snow flakes and cut them in half and added them as shown.  The little tag was made with a scalloped circle and glittered snowflake.  A small ribbon bow and that's it!

I hope you like and can join us this month, only one more challenge to go.  I can't believe how fast this year has gone.

I would like to enter:

Rudolph Days November Challenge - Anything Christmas
Pixie's Snippets Playground - snippets used were the white glitter card under the image and the tag.
Crafteezee Shop - Anything but a Card
That's Crafty - Winter Wonderland
Creative Craft Cottage - Christmas is Coming

Thank you for visiting and I hope you can leave a comment, I do love to read them.

AYLI DT - Non Card Project

Good Morning Everyone,

I'm back again, but not with a card this time as it's the start of a new challenge at As You Like It and the theme is for you to show us your favourite type of non-card project.

Before card making grabbed me cross stitch was a favourite hobby and this is one of my makes from a while ago.  It's a Heritage cross stitch kit but not sure of the name.

This is one picture I actually completed but haven't had framed as, since we've had a lot of work done on the house, it's now too modern for such an old fashioned picture.  I suppose I could put it in my craft room though.  I am ashamed to say I do have quite a few unfinished cross stitch projects, large ones, so if I do anything now it has to be something small that I can do while watching tv.

with a $25 gift voucher for the lucky winner

If you'd like to pop over to the challenge here you'll be able to see the lovely inspiration from the rest of the DT.

AYLI DT - BOX OR BAG

Morning Everyone,

I hope you are keeping well and have not had too much snow.  It was a rainy here yesterday so hopefully we seemed to have missed this latest batch of icy weather.

It is time for another challenge over at As You Like It and this time we would like you to tell us if you prefer to decorate bags or boxes and to showcase a project.  I have chosen a box as I think they are sturdier than bags, they are fairly easy to make and can make smaller presents such as jewellery look a bit more special.

For my little pillow box I have used paper from an 8" First Edition pad, Gilded Winter, but I stuck it onto a piece of white card first to make it that little bit stronger.  I have decorated it with a gold edged ribbon, a large white flower which I edged with gold coloured stickles and some pearl and gold embellishments.  The little gold balls are rescued from the Christmas crackers we had last year.  I've also added a little tag stamped in gold metallic ink.

The sponsor for the challenge is

with a $10 voucher for the lucky winner.

If you'd like to pop over to the challenge here you'll be able to see the inspiration from the rest of the team.

CHRISTMAS WITH THE CUTIES DT - TAGS

Morning Everyone,

It's time for the start of another challenge at Christmas with the Cuties and the theme is Tags.  It doesn't have to be a tag on it's own, it can also  be featured on a card as long as it's cute and christmassy.

These are the tags I made with images kindly donated by the sponsors, Sasayaki Glitter.  I printed them onto Neenah Desert Storm cardstock and coloured them with copics.  I used a white pencil to colour in the snowman and penguin, a gel pen for the snowflakes and liquid appliqué for the snow. They were finished off with little silver bells, small wooden snowflakes and ribbon from Stampin up.

I hope you will be able to join us in the challenge and if you'd like to pop over here you'll be able to see the lovely inspiration from the rest of the team.

I would like to enter these into the following challenges:

AYLI DT - FAVOURITE NON CARD PROJECT

Hi Everyone,

It's time for a new challenge over at As You Like It and for this fortnight the theme is to show your favourite non card project (and let us know why).

I don't do a lot of other crafting now I've found cardmaking, but I did decide last year to make more Christmas projects for the home. I love making Christmas cards so I thought I'd have a go at a few other bits.   I am in the middle of a Christmas cross stitch at the moment so I can't show that, but I have made this decoration from a mdf bauble. It's too big to hang on a tree as it's about 7" tall, but it can stand or hang on a wall.

The mdf has been covered with some First Edition paper and embellished with a frantaged Merry Christmas chipboard, a large flower, frantaged holly leaves, berries and stamens.  I have also added two tiny embossed snowflakes, pearls, lovely sparkly ribbon and a gorgeous pearl button .

The sponsor for this fortnight's challenge is

with a prize of 3 digi stamps for the winner

So, if you'd like to pop over to As You Like It you'll be able to see the lovely projects from the rest of the team.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

ABC Christmas - D for dimension
Winter Wonderland Tribute - Anything Goes
Fab n Funky - Christmas

Thank you for visiting and I love to read any comments you may leave.
