FAVOURITE EMBELLISHMENT?

Morning Everyone,

A little late with my post today for As You Like It where the theme is "Favourite Embellishment".

If I don't do a full on fancy card my favourites are pearls or enamel dots, which ever suits the card best.  I have used pearls this time as they are more elegant looking and balance the card off as I thought the white space looked a bit too bare.  I have used my CraftAddiction slatted circle die and flowers from Spellbinders.  The birthday tags are also from CraftAddiction and the colour scheme of turquiose and gold is to enter into their Facebook page challenge.

The sponsor for the challenge is:

I would like to enter:

Word Art Wednesday - Anything Goes
Simon Says Weds - Anything Goes
Creative Moments - Anything Goes

Early visit to the dentist this morning for a check up and thankfully all clear. That was one reason why I'm late with my post. I really don't like going and worry about it beforehand.  Anyway, better late than never!

See you soon and thank you for visiting.

DINO-MITE WISHES

Morning Everyone,

I hope you are keeping well.  It was really cold here yesterday so I spent the day inside.  I did try to go out and do a bit of tidying in the garden, but the wind was just too cold so I ended up making this card to enter into the Colourful Options challenge.

It's a cute dinosaur from Spellbinders and I've cut her out with snippets and placed her on my arch die and used backing paper from LOTV.  The sending sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp and I've used the computer for the Dino-mite Wishes. This is a photo of a few of the snippets used:

I would like to enter:

Colourful Options - Pink and Purple
PIP Challenge 2607 - Anything Goes

Thank you for popping by and I will see you again soon.

MERRY CHRISTMAS STENCIL

Morning Everyone,

I hope you are keeping well. There's a lot of colds and flu about, but fingers crossed we'll escape it.   I bought this Spellbinders stencil in a sale from Oakwood Direct a while ago as I thought it would be nice and flat for posting and decided to have a play.

I used various inks of shades of green and pink, mainly copying the colours from the packet picture, as it was my first attempt, but will try and be more adventurous in future.  The sentiment comes with a die as well but I opted to stencil direct onto the card.  I've added various sparkly centres to the flowers and then matted with gold and deep pink paper.

I would like to enter this into:

Color Hues - Pink and Green
Christmas Kickstart - If It's Christmassy Link It Up
Crafty Calendar - Christmas

Christmas present wrapping for me today.  Whatever you're doing I hope you have a good one.

FIGGY PUDDING

Morning Everyone,

It's been a while sisnce I posted anything other than a DT card, but thought I'd have a play with this sweet die set from Spellbinders called Dancing Figgy Pudding.

I cut the little pud from a few snippets and inked the face at the edges.  The eyes and cheeks are just tiny bits of black and pink stuck to the back and I've added glossy accents to the berries.  The paper is from a piece from a LOTV pad and the sentiment from a Paper Smooches stamp set embossed in silver.

I would like to enter:

Penny's Paper Crafty - Anything Goes
Rudolph Days - Anything Christmas
Snippets Playground - Use snippets

Short and sweet today. I've been completing a few DT cards as I like to get them made up in advance at this time of year before the Christmas madness starts.

See you soon.

RIBBON OR TWINE?

 Morning Everyone,

It's time for a new challenge over at As You Like It and and we are asking whether you prefer ribbon or twine on your projects.

I've had several attempts at my photo for this card but can't seem to get a good picture.  I've settled for this one, it is a bit darker than in irl but the others were too light.

Just lately I've been using more twine as I find it easier to tie a small bow and it's not so bulky as ribbon.
I have used a Spellbinders set called Hello You.  Die cut everything with coloured card and used ink for the darker shady bits.  The frame is from Pinkfresh Studio and the die inside the frame is an unbranded one from Amazon.    The orange paper is from a LOTV pad and mini tags from CraftAddiction.  I do like how you can imprint the words on these rather than having to use a stamp.

We are sponsored by:

I hope you can join us and you can pop over here to see the rest of the DT inspiration.

I would like to enter:

Beautiful Blossoms - Anything Floral
Crafter's Cafe - Anything Goes
Classic Design - Anything Goes

Thank you for looking and have a good day.

SQUARE OR NOT AT AYLI

 Morning Everyone,

We have a new challenge starting over at As You Like It and this week wold like to know whether you prefer to make square cards or not and don't forget to give your reason why please.

I do make both square and rectangular cards but square are my favourite as there seems to be more space on them to fit things in.  I usually make 6" square, but this one is a 7" and I definitely needed it for the large sentiment which is from Memory Box.

The cocktail glass etc are from Spellbinders and I have cut it out with gold card and then used coloured card for all the extras with a bit of inking on them for more depth.  The sentiment has been cut twice, once in white and once in gold and I've offset it a tiny bit so you can see the gold.  Some pearls and a little pearly heart finish it off.

The sponsor for the challenge is:

I hope you can join us and you can pop over here to see the inspiration from the rest of the design team.

Have a good day and thank you for your visit.

PINK CHRISTMAS

Hello All,

I decided to have a play with my Simply Wonderful die and stamp set from The Greetery that I've had for ages and never used.

I heat embossed all sentiments in silver and cut the 'wonderful' with the co-ordinating die.  I then cut flowers and foliage from Spellbinders Christmas blooms set, flowers in pink and foliage in silver cardstock.  It took me ages, on and off, to decide on the layout but got there in the end and added bling to the centres of the flowers and attached it all to more silver sheen card.

I would like to enter:

ABC Christmas - E for embossing and F for focal sentiment
Christmas Kickstart - Positively Poinsettias
Creative knockouts - Embossing Delight
NBUS  - never before used stuff
Word Power April challenge  - Sentiment as focus

Have a good weekend and lets hope the weather stays as nice as it has been today here in the UK.

FEMININE or MASCULINE?

Morning Everyone,

It's the start of a new challenge at As You Like It and we are asking whether you prefer to make feminine or masculine projects and don't forget to say why please.

For me it's definitely feminine. I'm fine with cards for young boys but when it comes to adult I always struggle for inspiration and, if I do make a male card, I'm normally not very happy with it.  Also, I have so many flower dies/stamps and embellishments to use.

For my card  I have used a Stampin Up woodgrain embossing folder for the background, a Craft Consortium circle die, an Altenew die cut sentiment and Spellbinders Be Bold Blooms for the flowers, which were cut from snippets.  A proper variety of brands for this one!
Some of the snippets used:

EMBOSSING FOLDER/STENCIL

Morning Everyone,

This is my reminder post for Christmas Craft Creations where the theme this month is to use on your Christmas project either an embossing folder or stencil or even other.

For my card I have used a Spellbinders embossing folder called Forever Green on the bottom half of the card, although it's not very easy to see in the photo.  I have used Spellbinders dies for the floral arrangement, which were all cut from snippets, a sentiment stamped in red which I think was from a free magazine set and dotted ribbon to finish off with.

There are two prizes on offer and the entry deadline is Tuesday, 12th March at 6pm so still plenty of time to enter.

I would like to enter:

Feb Rudolph Days - Anything Christmas
Snippets playground - Snippets used were all the floral arrangement and white layer.
Paper Funday challenge - No patterned paper
Classic Design challenge - Anything goes

Thank you for visiting and have a good day.

SNIPPETS CARD

 Hello Everyone,

I'm running in with a last minute snippets card for the Snippets Playground where the theme is for  'Anything BUT Christmas' so I decided to make a birthday card with my NBUS Spellbinder dies called Club Blooms.

All the flowers, leaves and white part of the card are from snippets.  I do love using dies to try and use up some of my many snippets, but the trouble is the pile never seems to go down much! This is my little pile of snippets, some before cutting some after.

I would like to enter:

Snippets Playground - Anything but Christmas
Penny's Paper Crafty #562 - Anything Goes
Paper Funday - Anything Goes/let's Celebrate
Beautiful Blossoms - Anything with Flowers

Thank you for visiting and have a good weekend.

CORBEL TREE

Morning Everyone,

I hope you are all sorted for Christmas. This is a simple card made with a tree die from Simon Says Stamp
called Corbel Tree Collage.

I have used hammered cardstock and surrounded the die with a Spellbinders frame from their Venise Lace set.  I have added a snippet of green grungy paper underneath from Craft Consortium and a silver heat embossed sentiment cut with a stitched rectangle die.

I would like to enter:

Christmas Kickstart - Anything Christmassy
ABC Christmas  - Anything Goes
Word Art Wednesday - Anything Goes
Snippets Playground - snippets used were the sentient and green paper.

This is my last post before Christmas so I would like to wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

CAS AT CHRISTMAS CRAFT CREATIONS

 Morning Everyone,

This is my reminder post for Christmas Craft Creations where the theme this month is CAS.

For my card I have used a Spellbinders die called More Holiday Decorations, which I bought in one of their sales a while ago.  I've used mirri card for the string and cut the lights from oddments of glitter card.  The sentiment is a mixture of two stamps from different companies.

I hope you will be able to join in. There are three lovely prizes on offer and you have until Tuesday, 12th September to enter so still plenty of time.

I would like to enter:

Corrosive Challenge - Anything Goes

Thank you for visiting and I will be back tomorrow.

NO STAMPING

Morning Everyone,

This is my reminder post for Christmas Craft Creations where the theme is 'No Stamping'.

For my card I have used a Spellbinders die purchased in their recent sale for the sentiment and added a poinsettia, little flower and pearls in red. I cut the sentiment twice, once in the centre of the white rectangle and then again in red and glued the red onto the white. This made it easier than just trying to place the red one in the correct position.

There are two prizes on offer and you have until Tuesday, 13th June to enter.

I would like to enter:

Allsorts - Anything Goes
Crafty Calendar - Anything but Square
Gem of a Craft - Anything Goes
Corrosive challenge - Anything Goes

Thank you for looking today and have a good one. It looks as though it's going to be a warm one here in the UK.

FLORALS

Morning Everyone,

This is a card I have made from snippets for the Snippets Playground.

I think dies are such a good way of using up snippets and this one is from a Spellbinders small die of the month last November, I think.

This is a photo of the snippets used.  It's not always easy for me to take a photo as I don't often plan ahead and decide on the layout as I go along, but there are not a lot of options with this die so I decided on yellow and orange for the flowers before hand.    I cut the larger die again in a darker shade of green to add a bit of shading.

The sentiment is one of my favourite and has been heat embossed in gold.

I would like to enter:

Snippets Playground - use snippets
Classic Design - Anything Goes
Crafts Galore - Anything Goes
Rabisco - Anything Goes
Simon Says Weds - Fabulous Flowers

The sun is shining here today, but still very cold.  Have a good day all and thank you for taking the time to visit.

MORE BE BOLD BLOOMS

Good Morning Everyone,

Time for a new challenge at As You Like It and we would like to know whether you prefer to make feminine or masculine projects.

I much prefer feminine as I like to add pretty things such as pearls, flowers and anything sparkly.  Floral cards seem to be my fave at the moment  too.

I have used my Spellbinders Be Bold blooms again for this one in pink and white.  Some of the flowers are cut in pink card and some in white with pink ink added to them.  I have cut an aperture with an oval die into some wood grained card and arranged the flowers around.  The sentiment is heat embossed in white.

The sponsor for this challenge is:

with a prize for the lucky winner

I would like to enter:

Allsorts - Summer flowers
Daisy Chain - Flowers
Crafty Calendar - Anything Goes
Crafty Catz - Anything Goes/add a sentiment
Snippets Playground - Flowers were cut from snippets

I hope you will be able to join in with the challenge and thank you for taking the time to visit.  Have a good day.

BE BOLD BLOOMS

 Morning Everyone,

I hope everyone has had a good weekend and some fun time with family over the Bank Holiday weekend.  A just for fun card today made using my new Be Bold Bloom dies from Spellbinders.

I've had the background piece on my desk for a while and can't remember why I didn't use it before so decided to use it with these dies for a pretty floral card.  I collected all my small snippets of plain card and put them in a separate box to cut the flowers.  I still have loads of the paper left so will be using them again sometime.  My favourite Happy Birthday sentiment was embossed in silver and added with a purple mat.

A fairly quick card to make, apart from the die cutting and glueing.

I would like to enter this into:

PIP challenge 2223 - Anything Goes
Crafty Calendar - Anything Goes
Dream Valley - Summer Colours
Diva's that cut paper - (Beautiful Blooms) for Summer Days
Snippets Playground - all the flowers were from snippets

Thank you for visiting and any comments you leave are appreciated.
