...I had brought home so much food that I really didn't need to get much this week... ...I did a little bit of food prep for the week...a big pot of yellow eyed beans... ...I ran the two big zucchini that my sweet brother and SIL gave me through the food processor...directly into a baggie... ...and then I took a wooden spoon and separated it into four 'chunks'... ...so that when it's frozen I can just break off a piece containing roughly enough for a zucchini bread...and I laid it on a tupperware lid so that it would freeze nice and flat... ...I washed the rest of the bok choy...and got it ready to be used up this week... ...and took the remaining cup or so of the zucchini... ...and made zucchini bread... ...and cooked it in the outside oven...haha...toaster oven...and made some squash out there on the Griddler... ...the bread turned out perfectly... ...and we're still picking a handful of little tommy-toes every day or two...

...we started the weekend with waffles...always a good thing... ...I did the weekly shopping...nothing really of note...the Silk was on sale two for $7...so I got three...I'm sure I can use those up before the July 9th date... ...oh...this is of note...Philadelphia Water Ice...they had a couple of other flavors I'll be sure to try... ...this one is Blueberry/Coconut/Pineapple...it's very sweet and tropical and yummy... ...just a couple of things on the food prep front...baked tofu of course...some shaped as chick'n for the grill...some scrambled for tofu scramble...and some just in squares... ...and I had bought kale thinking that I would add it to smoothies...but it's flavor is too strong for that...I know people put kale in their smoothies all the time...but it's just not for me...so I just decided to cook it...and the Man asked why I didn't use the InstaPot as it would have been quicker...but it was just a small bunch...so I just put it in a pot on the stove... ...and finally my Niece-in-law (is that a thing)...you've seen her here on the blog before...has a birthday this week...so I crocheted a little facial scrubbie out of some fairly soft cotton scrubby yarn...it's not as rough as the one you use for dishcloths...and got that into the mail...

...I'm afraid this is a pretty boring 'regular' vegan eating sort of a day... ...breakfast was a bowl of mixed cereal and an apple with some Silk Cashew/Almond milk...I'd have regular Almond milk if I had any... ...for lunch...the Man says I got a couple of hockey pucks out of the freezer...haha...one of a rice mix and two of a black bean chili... ...and I made a sweet potato in the Foreman grill...and added a spoonful of sauerkraut to my bowl... ...in the afternoon...I got hungry so I did what I often did in college...made a bowl of ramen...I think this used to be called oriental flavor...now it's called soy sauce flavor...and I ate the whole thing...haha... ...dinner was baked tofu, carrots, cabbage, potatoes, and a small cucumber and tomato salad...I put Heinz 57 on my tofu... ...after dinner and before bed...I made some peanut butter and banana nice cream...

...not movie night... ...we thought if we were going to see this year's show...we'd better go to a game...HA!... ...this year's theme...TRAINS... ...as usual the band did an awesome job...

...so...we attended Scout's final Band Banquet... ...it was at a lovely farm venue... ...our table was decorated with a photo of the seniors...they didn't actually sit with us...they had a long table up front for all the seniors... ...the cake and cupcakes...fire themed because of their show... ...the seniors very own cake was a fire hydrant...so cute... ...this is my plate...a yummy (rather large salad)...and the caterers assured me that the corn and potatoes and green beans only had olive oil and pepper for seasonings...it was so nice... ...a few highlights from the slide show...it was fun to see all the photos and reminisce about Scout's final year in band...sorry for the angle...I keep my camera low and just snap what I can get...I'm not one to 'watch' the show through my camera... ...Scout getting his pink senior band chords...he'll wear them with his honors chords at graduation...I did not know that pink was the colour for band chords...I didn't even know that anyone other than academic honors wore chords...so...of course I googled it...here... ...all the loot...each senior got a booklet of photos...and a 'senior' photo...and a frame...like the one on our table...a few tiger paw white chocolate lollies...the baggie has his band school letter pins...but the letter is missing...the director explained that they didn't have them in time for the banquet but they would get those in a few days...just a little late...

...another bittersweet 'last' from Scout's senior year...

...another one of our Senior Year Lasts... ...Scout's final Christmas Band Concert... ...they started out in front of the stage with a rather long warm up session where each group...brass...woodwind...etc. gave us a little sort of solo... ...then up on the stage for the concert...from 'Rest'...by Samuel Hazo... ...Joy to the World...of course... ...and the finale...Sleigh Ride...by Leroy Anderson...

...it was another wonderful concert...

...Saturday was Scout's final Christmas Parade...
...we got there early...the police had just blocked the road...
...so we parked and walked up the street...there was already quite a crowd waiting for the parade to start...
...just your typical small town Christmas Parade...with firetrucks...
...floats...
...and lots and lots of old cars...
...and then finally the main attraction...not Santa...the Band...
...their regular uniforms...and blue Santa hats...

...so Scout has marched in his last High School show...

...they honored all of the seniors with a little party... ...and at the game...all of the parents escorted their senior onto the field...

...well it turns out that the problem is with Windows 10/Edge...I searched but did not find a solution...but we happen to have an old XP laptop that we keep around just because it has Office on it and Scout uses it for papers/powerpoints and such...it's slow...but it works...and I can upload from it...so that's what I'm using for now...until I find a fix that works...I tried several things from the Microsoft forums but none has worked so far...ARRRGGGHHH!

....anywhooo...

...Scout is once again part of an award winning band... ...the Band prepares for the performance... ...Scout gets his fire screen ready... ...and they take the field... ...and they took home the trophy on the end...the one that's as tall as a person... ...and finally a close up of Scout... ...for your listening pleasure...they got a standing ovation too... ...and someone quickly painted over the big boulder in front of the school...it is often painted with birthday greetings...I'm amazed that they 'allow' this sort of graffiti...but I've noticed other schools in the area that have a big rock like this one...
