spring is in the air

I get so excited when I see the trees budding and the daffodils blooming. It never gets old!

Mr. Bee is excited too!

Spring cleaning is on my brain and I need to make a plan. I've been checking pinterest for some organizing and cleaning tips (I don't have as much time as I'd like) and hope to share some links here on the blog soon!

instagram inspiration

Hello!

It's been a while! I am working on lots of things that I can't share right now. :)

I was looking through instagram (find loads of inspiration there) the other day and came across an adorable bunny pillow and checkered pillow and thought what a cute and simple card it would make!

I found this sweet pillow duo on @felicityjanestudio 's instagram.

So to re create the pillows I used my Spring and Stripes and Dots stamp sets.  For the stripes I inked the stamp up, stamped it on a scrap paper and then onto my cardstock (I didn't want it to be too bold and dark).

I decided to add a pop of colour and stamped my speech bubble from my Read All About It stamp set.

Daffodils - SALE!

 Hello!
I hope you all had a lovely weekend!

It's a beautiful sunny spring day and it made me reach for my Daffodils stamp set.
Then I thought...why have a Daffodils stamp set SALE! This whole week Daffodils will be 15% Off!
I didn't have a lot of time this morning so I used my water colours to make the background and once it was dry I stamped the daffodils onto it. SIMPLE!

I heat embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder.

Pop on over to the JD blog and check out Ange's gorgeous card!

for you

Hello!

I had some left overs from the card I made yesterday and it was big enough for me to die cut a tag and make a cute tag to go along with the card.

The stripes are from my Stripes and Dots stamp set. Fun and easy background to make. The squirrel is from my Nuts About You stamp set.

As always I used my Graph'it markers to colour. :)

life is good

Hello!

Popping in to share I card I made this morning. :) The inspiration behind this card was a gift bag I bought (I should have taken a photo of it) last weekend for a birthday my kids went to. It was white with different coloured stripes....which I recreated using the thin stripe from my Stripes and Dots stamp set. Easy and cute background!

Just check out these BFF's! :)

I did some masking and coloured with my Graph'it markers. I used my Spring and Nuts About You stamp sets and a SRM sticker for the sentiment.

I found a dupe for Ranger's Glossy Accents....it's Hobby Line's Schmuckstein Kleber! Try and say that 5 times if you're not German! :) I used it on the heart above....leaves the same raised glossy effect and I use it to glue my gems and sequins...it's brilliant! :) I buy mine at Muller.

Pop on over to the JD blog and check out Miriam's adorable card!!

Wool you be mine?

Hello!

I hope to hold a workshop at the end of this month and this is one of the projects I will do.
Valentine's is around the corner and my Seamus stamp set is great for Valentine cards.

I stamped Seamus and then drew the banner with my Pigma Micron marker pen. I stamped the hearts on another white piece of scrap cardstock, coloured, cut and adhered them to create the heart banner.

I coloured with my Graph'it markers.

Make sure to pop on over to the SRM blog for more JD stamps being revealed and I believe a chance to win some of my stamps!! :)

This adorable project paired SRM goodies and my Spring stamp set.

I will announce the winner of my giveaway tomorrow!

for some bunny special

Hello!

Popping it to share this card I made yesterday....I mentioned one of the things I want to do this year is send out cards and I know exactly where this card is going! ;)

I used my Doodle Flowers and Spring stamp sets to create this card. I did some masking too.
I drew the stems to the flowers and leaves. I also drew the cloud to balance it out.

I coloured with my Graph'it markers

I added clear sequins to some of the flowers.

BTW giveaway here, big news (and giveaway) here!

Have a lovely weekend!

warm wishes + stretch your stamps

Hello!

Hope all is well!

I'm going to show how I stretched my stamps with a little masking. I used the bunny and chick from my Spring stamp set to create a Christmas card by adding the snowman's hat (from my Warm Wishes) stamp set and drawing a hat on the chick.

For the chick I took some washi tape (post-it's are great for this too...I usually use post-it but ran out of them) and cover the top of the chick's head where I want to draw the hat. Draw the hat with a pencil first than trace over it with a marker and erase the pencil.

Ink up the stamp, remove the washi tape and stamp.

I did the same with the rabbit.

I too the snowman stamp from my Warm Wishes stamp set and masked off everything but the hat, after I inked the hat and took off the washi tape I rubbed off the ink where I wanted the ears to be with a baby wipe.

Don't worry if it doesn't look perfect...once you colour it those little mistakes won't show. Also you can fix any lines (if they didn't stamp clear) with a marker (I use Sakura Pigma Micron) and use a white gel pen to erase any tiny mistakes.

Again, same thing with the ears....

I embossed polka dots on the vellum to create the snow...I adhered the sides of the vellum at the back so the glue doesn't show through at the front.

I coloured my images with Graph'it markers and as you can see any tiny imperfections are gone once coloured in.

Have a great day!

stretch your stamp sets + giveaway

Hello!
Hope all is well!

I have a lot on my mind...stamps being one of the things! :) For those who follow me know I struggle with time and balancing my house/home responsibilities and JD. Most of you know my kids have weird school hours (going at different times, basically I'm never kid free) and it's tough being a full time stay at home/work at home mom.

One of the things that I struggle with is monthly releases. Do you know that I actually haven't inked up some of my own stamp sets. Don't get me wrong...at the end of the day it's my job and it's business and I'm grateful I have the opportunity to do this. So my thought for today and making this card (which btw isn't finished...it's just a peek) is do you really, I mean really use your stamp sets to it's full potential?

One way is altering your stamps and mixing sets to create a project.

I used the snowman's hat from my Warm Wishes stamp set on this bunny from my Spring set. I'll share soon how I went about it as well as other ways of altering your stamps.

And I also wanted to giveaway my Spring stamp set.

If you're interested leave a comment here (it's open internationally).
I also want to thank you for your patience...with Judith stepping down it's a slow transition. Some of you are receiving orders that are coming from both me and Judith (because the newest sets are with me and the older ones are with Judith - she is sending them to me in batches...it's going to take time so please be patient).

Have a great day!
