The Sun is out!

And I'm so happy to see it. The cats are also enjoying it too. They get cranky with gloomy weather, similar to humans. Seeing the sun light come through this window in my stair way is fabulous.

It occurred to me the other day that I could make a cover for my couch rather than use towels.  The cats sometimes get sick and this has preserved my couch all these years.  So I started it yesterday.

Kitty here is the quilting I did on the Kaffe quilty hugs top.
These are pictures of a Heart Builders quilt that is finished except for the label and a wash. I am finishing up a lot of loose ends. Move them along!

Friday evening relaxation

After driving home from Florence through heavy rain storms and traffic I settled in to finish quilting this top for Heart Builders.  It is the last one so I can send all of them.

I have been really trying to stretch my machine quilting skills by trying new hand guided patterns.  The one I mastered this time was the orange peel.  It was a little awkward at first but by the end of the quilt I was fairly comfortable.  Feathers were mastered long ago.

Here are pictures from this morning where the light and shadow were perfect.

Playing With My Toys

I love a lap cat and Maestro is one who likes to give me therapy.  So this is a common scene at my house.  Of course it is not always Maestro.  Currently I have Sebastian on upper thighs and Maestro laying on my lower legs.  Ahhhhh.

So on to playing with my toys.  I quilted two tops today and enjoyed it.  🐸

Mr Tale has join the effort. He lays right beside me with hip contact.

A little fun on the long arm

I made a back for this top this morning before breakfast (pancakes and eggs).  Then after breakfast, quilted it with a gentle swirl.  The back is fun using odd blocks from the orphan bag which by the way need to be sewn up.  How did it get so full?

Enjoy the pictures of Maestro inspecting the quilt.  She thinks it's comfy!🐸

Petal to the Metal

This first picture was taken inside with afternoon sun on the quilt. The others are taken outside most in bright sun and the last two in the shade. With this quilt done, I am now confident to quilt a few others that have these petal shapes. Rulers are now my friends and I'm not afraid to use them.

Updates

I didn't post everything from last weekend. I did get another top quilted with lovely feathers.

This next one has its binding stitched and needs a wash, label and is ready for a new home. I am continuing quilting from my stack of love tops in the closet. I seem to be making a small dent, but it's progress. When you quilt like a maniac this pile grows so fast.

Feeling patriotic I found a panel and some nine patch blocks in the closet.  I attached the last two rounds this morning.  This is now ready for loading on the long arm.

I'm on a roll...

Yesterday I quilted two quilts.  Each has the binding made and stitched on.

This next one will be a baby quilt, a girl.

this morning I got this top quilted after making it larger by adding borders.
The binding is made and ready for stitching. This was on the long arm after the one above.

Playing with Arrow Heads and ...

I woke up this morning knowing I wanted to do a semi custom quilt job. I went through the QOVs I had and selected this one. I loaded it up and had the best time. I need to load it again and quilt the other borders. Sure am pleased with it so far.
And because blogger is not cooperating, here are my arrow head blocks I tried out. It is a flimsy now, thinking about borders.
Here is the back of the QOV. YUM!!!
D Oh and I also completed some dear Jane blocks too. Frog Quilter

Feathers and more Feathers

This morning I loaded a QOV and proceeded to quilt it. A few hours later I had a beautiful quilt mostly done in feathers. There was some swirlies too.

The back outside on the deck. You can't really see the quilting.

This next picture was taken inside to show the quilting. The back is white tone on tone.

I added a few more postage stamp blocks. These are not strip pieced. I start with 1.5 inch blocks, and create10 by 10. I can finish one in about 40 minutes. I'm going to name this one Confetti.

A love quilt

The back is not this bright. I had to take the picture inside to show all the texture. Quilted with superior So Fine top and bottom, cotton batting. I did a free hand feather swirl.

Sebastian waiting for me to finish so he can give me some lap therapy.
