Yes another bag of blocks pulled out and sewn together. I don't remember when I made these blocks. They are cute though. After sewing rows, I wanted a spot where your eye could rest a little. I auditioned a few fabrics and favored the confetti on white but I picked that creamy yellow as it had the subtle movement I wanted. Each row will have a strip of this fabric. It will also encase the blocks. It will be finished up as Quilty Hug.
My sewing time is limited as I get tired easily. Just to do a little bit means the world to me. Progress is progress. Other than this sewing I have been hand appliqueing.
Enjoy🐸🐸🐸

Scrappy Blocks
Here is an update on these blocks that I have been working. I still have lots of parts so I will continue until something else catches my eye. 🐸

Apple Core Quilt
I finished the quilting on this apple core top this morning. After the top was loaded and I was quilting along I discovered that I had shorted the backing fabric. So I took it off the frame and added enough fabric for the top about 3 1/2 inches. Since this is fairly simple quilting I finished it up this morning on my regular sewing machine. This will be donated as a Quilty Hug when we resume chemo.

Apple Core
I continued assembly of the massive amount of Apple core blocks that were cut using the AccuQuilt. I got it down to two halves and thought I could make two lap quilts with each one, with a little more effort. So I did. I trimmed and added a 3.5 inch border. This will go to the many chemo patients I support. One down one to go and never again. It's tedious sewing. Any pieces that are remaining will become Apple core four patches. They will be block squared. 🐸

A Quilty Hug
I quilted this top yesterday afternoon in a burst of energy before dinner time. I went with simple fun circles of different sizes. Two different fabrics for the back.
This quilt will be one of my Quilty Hugs to give at our next chemo session.

Progress on blocks
I took a bunch of chunk scraps and ran them thru the AccuQuilt cutter. The first picture is the last pile needing pressing.
All the triangles sets are now sewed to either a guy color (think light blue) or a lady color (think pink).
These two piles of blocks will be put together for quilty hug quilts to be handed out at one of our chemo visits for treatment.
After trimming I will be playing with laying them out, the fun stuff.
These scraps were tamed to two inch strips. They will be sewn together to make 4 patch units.
They are waiting to be pressed and cut. Scraps make more scraps and more quilts. What a cycle!

Tops are born
I sewed these two tops this week, one after work for two days. I will add a border on the one with strong blocks. Big surprise, I still have about twenty blocks left. So I'll dream up another version. Enjoy!

My blocks told me...
That they wanted to be set with snow ball blocks. So I listened and here is the start of that conversation.

Plaids on plaids
I quilted this top today and I am so pleased. I even found a red plaid like fabric for the binding. Woot!

Project Updates
I decided to participate in Temecula Monday mini. I'm using the sizes that I have, 1 1/2 inch strips and blocks. So mine will turn out larger but that is OK.
These are my hearts from this week. The cow one needs a few more stitches but I couldn't resist showing it.
Here is the plaid on plaid quilt top. I think it might be finished. Maybe another red border. Any suggestions?

Catching Up
I am catching up on all my commitments. Proposals, QOV's and quilting for others. I quilted the last of three QOV's yesterday and I have top loaded that I will start as soon as I finish this post. It feels really good to get caught up and not have things hanging over my head.
I started appliqing some hearts and they are so cute. A heart is needle turned on a 4.5 inch back ground. They are so fast to sew. As you can see blogger is not cooperating this morning.
The small heart quilt (this is the back) is for the Cotton Robin which I participate in every time it is offered. I can't show the front, it will be mailed tomorrow.
And the plaid on plaid top continues. I'm thinking I will put a strip of the light plaid fabric around these nine blocks and go from there. The top will tell me what to do next lol.
Enjoy your Sunday. Here in the south it will be HOT today but that is normal for us.

T Shirt Quilt, drunkards path
This T shirt has been what I have been working on this weekend. My patience was tested many times but I persevered and finished the quilting. Today I need to make binding and sew it on. I dug out one bag of many (no surprise there) and am sewing them into a flimsy.

More cute churn dashes etc
I took today off from work to catch up. I started making rows of the latest T Shirt top. I have been assembling one row a day.
Other things included cleaning my sewing room as it had gotten out of hand. I can only take so much clutter in the sewing room.
I used all the precut churn dash pieces and made some others as well.

New acquisition...A Mini
Our state spring guild has its annual spring meeting on Saturday. It turned out to be so much fun. We always make it a girls weekend so matter how far or close the location.
Of course there are a few vendors in attendance. I could not believe my eyes to spy a feather weight sitting on the table of B who specializes in vintage items. The price --- I could not not get it!
The pictures show the mini and my sewing in the hotel room.
