Winter Gnome

Today I am showing you my January card for my challenge for 2023--At Home With Gnomes.   I really like gnomes and I have quite a few stamps or sets, so I really, really need to get on it!  They sure are so dang cute!

This was a pretty easy card to put together--the fold is called center stairstep.    The gnome is from a newer Stampin' Up set called Kindest Gnomes.  It is a fun set and also has a set of matching dies.  There is a new stamp set from Stampin' Up that will also match these dies--it is on my January hostess club order!   I colored the sweet gnomes with my Copic Sketch Markers. The sentiment is one of the cute ones from the same set. I cut it as a tag and added some Bermuda Bay baker's twine.   The cardstock is Pool Party and the patterned paper is from Stampin' Up too called Storybook Gnomes.  I embossed the side panels with myt Softly Falling folder.

I hope you come back and join me during 2023 for more At Home with Gnome cards!

Easter Brings

This is card #4 for my A Card A Week Challenge.  January is Fancy Folds and here is my final card for the month.  I made an offset gate fold card and decided on an Easter card.  I used some a package of patterned paper from Doodlebug called Easter Assortment on both of the flaps and along the sentiment on the front. I also added some pink Baker's Twine along the sentiment.  The sentiment is from Verses Rubber Stamps and is called Easter Brings.

Here are two additional photos, showing the panels.

Here is the card fully opened, with another strip of the patterned paper:

I really like the look of this card and hope you do too.

I hope you will stop back for the next Tuesday to see my next card with the February theme--use a sketch from SCS!

Joy Fold

This is card #3 for my A Card A Week Challenge.  January is Fancy Folds and here is my third card for the month.  I made a joy fold card and decided on a masculine theme, using Stampin' Up's Adventure Bound 4 1/2 x 6 1/2 Patterned Paper Pack.

The Celebrate Die is also from Stampin' Up and I die cut it three times.  I then layered it three times, to give it more dimension.

Here are two additional photos, showing the panels.

Here is the card fully opened, with Happy Birthday from another Stampin' Up set.

I really like the look of this card and hope you do too.

I hope you will stop back for the next Tuesday to see my next card with a Fancy Folds in January!

Tri-Shutter Card

This is card #2 for my A Card A Week Challenge.  January is Fancy Folds and here is my second card for the month.  I made a tri-shutter card and I have not made one of these in years.  I used the Sending Love 6x6 Pack of Patterned Paper by Stampin' Up for each of the panels.  It is one month from today that we will celebrate Valentine's Day, so I am ahead of the game!

Here are some additional photos, showing the panels.  I layered the word Love from Stampin' Up over a die from Spellbinders called Lacy Ovals.

Here is the card opened a bit more.

The So Sweet Die is also from Spellbinders

I really like the look of this card and hope you do too.

Twisted Gate Fold

Here is my April Crafters of Faith card.  This is a great group that my friend Kelly started on SCS. This is our 28th month, so we are into year #3. Dawn gave everyone this challenge:

Scripture:   Romans 8:17-18 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us

ChallengeMake a card that reveals and image or sentiment. It could be a slider card or a card with a lift up flap.

This card challenge stumped me for a bit and then a saw a card in a basket by my desk that I made a few years ago at a class that my friend Amy taught at Camp Stamp-in-Oga. We made a Halloween card with a mummy as the focal image and I went with an Easter Card.  The fold is called Twisted Gate Fold.   It looks harder than it is--really, I mean that.  There are a number of videos on making it.

Here is another view of the opened card:

Here is the opened card, with the reveal of the sentiment.

And, finally, here is the card folded so it fits in an A2 envelope.

I hope Dawn along the others from the Crafters of Faith group like my card this month!  We are to post between the 7th and 10th of each month, so if you look on my sidebar, you may see other creations.  I know that there will be many posted in the COF thread on SCS too! Liz is up for our May challenge, so be sure to check back to see what I create!

5th Fancy Fold Card

Today is the fifth week of A Card a Week Challenge. One card a week--for 52 weeks--with a preset challenge for each month. January is Fancy Folds!  Each Tuesday, I will post a card that fits the theme of the monthly challenge.

Today is a version of a tri-fold card. It is also a way to highlight some of the fun patterned papers that I have in my stash.  I also used another fun die from The Stamps of Life, like the Thank You one on my card yesterday.

Here is another view of the card, showing the three layers or folds:

Week 4--Big Buckle Card

Today is the fourth week of A Card a Week Challenge. One card a week--for 52 weeks--with a preset challenge for each month. January is Fancy Folds!  Each Tuesday, I will post a card that fits the theme of the monthly challenge.

Today is a Big Buckle Card. I have not made one of these cards for years--maybe 10 years or more!  I like the look of this card for a masculine card, so that is what I went with, using an older Stampin' Up set called Traveler.  This challenge is also getting me to use more of my stash--or supplies!

Here are some other views of the card:

Today is the third week of A Card a Week Challenge. One card a week--for 52 weeks--with a preset challenge for each month. January is Fancy Folds!  Each Tuesday, I will post a card that fits the theme of the monthly challenge.

Today is a Bib Card. I might have cheated a bit as I have a package of these pre-made cards in my stash--but I have not used them too often.  So-I am going to count this as my third Fancy Fold Card!  I also inked up some older Stampin' Up sets--Flight of the Butterfly, Barn Door and Sincere Salutations.  This challenge is also getting me to use more of my stash--or supplies!

Inside/Out Card

It is the day after third Wednesday of the month and that means a Ready, Set, Go Challenge Card!  We each had another card to post to our blogs yesterday, so this post was pushed back one day.  The 3 Musketeers (Jeanette, Kelly and me) are back with another challenge this month.

Kelly came up with our challenge for October. Create an inside out card.    This is what Kelly wrote:  What's That?  Glad you asked.  It is where the inside of your card is now the front and the front is now inside! However you want to interpret that is up to you.  Be creative, use lots of color/ing and try to avoid leaving it 'blank' on the front.   Remember, we're thinking outside the box!  I hope you have fun with the challenge - now get ready, get set ... Go!

I pondered and pondered about the card for this challenge.  I had an idea to do a shutter card and put a full image on the inside.  I had a stamp class this past week at my local stamp store and we made a card similar to this, with a Christmas ornament on the outside in the circle, and patterned papers on both panels.  I thought I would use one of my favorite Christmas images from Penny Black for the inside image and a simple Ho-Ho-Ho in the circle.  I like how it turned out.

Sorry for the bad picture but it is a hard card to photograph, as the panels do not lay flat.....

Both of the green panels fold out to reveal the inside image.

Please be sure to check out the other Ready, Set, Go cards.  Here is a link to Jeanette's and Kelly's blog.  I am sure you will not be disappointed and will see a couple of great cards! I hope Kelly and Jeanette like my card and that you might too!  I am up for the next theme, so be sure to check back to see what we are up to on the 3rd Wednesday in December!
