Back 2 School....THANKS!!!

I usually try to bribe THANK my children's teachers each year with a GIFT!  This is this year's back2school bribe gift!
---------------------------------
4 dozen pencils fit in this glass jar...a perfect gift (if you ask me) for a teacher who I'm sure has to supply half the class with pencils by the 2nd-month....her last name starts with a "B" so I used the Monogram "B" and some "contraband" black ricrac...
-----------------------------------
For the card, I wanted to use Notebook (my favorite and happens to be no longer available - I stashed up while I could...lol)....
--------------------------------
One my NEW (and by that I mean this is the first time I've tried it....hehehehe) favorite things to do is the stamp the sentiment...I used one of my 'go-to' stamp sets....Thank You....and then add my own "doodles" with My Legacy Writers....
-----------------------------
For the bottom of the card, I took 2" squares of various B&T papers from the Notebook pp and crumpled them and then layered on top of each other.  I then died some Twill using Sunflower Ink and stitched (kinda) with Natural Hemp (separated the layers until I only had 2 or 3 and ran through an eye of a needle and sewed...the knots are french knots)

H2H Sketch Challenge....

This week is a sketch challenge using Wishes....

Here's the sketch....

Here's what I did with it....

----------------------
-------------------------
I layered a few White Daisy Just Blooms and put a Designer Pewter Brad (can now only be found in the Pewter Mini-Medley Accents) in the center
As you can see, I tweaked the sketch just a little but you can still tell it's basically the same layout!  That's one of the MANY REASONS I love Jeanette's how-to programs...they give me just enough inspiration and I can do the rest!

Don't forget to check out the other Design Team members' blogs and link your project back to the main H2H Blog using Mr. Linky!

I'm headed to DC as most other consultants but I will be checking in to see all the wonderful stuff you guys come up with!

H2H4 Challenge...RIBBON!!!

Another week means another Challenge over at the Heart 2 Heart Challenge Blog!!!  This week's challenge is to use at least 2 DIFFERENT RIBBONS!!!  Who doesn't LOVE ribbon....now's the perfect time to show us what you can do with it!

Here's what I did with the "challenge"...if you ask me, the only "challenge" was WHICH COLOR :0)

---------------------------------
I made the flower by freehanding a circle on a piece of B&T from my all-time favorite, Notebook Paper Packet...I then stacked about 5 or 6 B&T's underneath (some from Notebook and others from another all-time favorite, Game On)...cut out using a "wavy pattern" with my scissors...secured with a brad and started crumpling...I added a button for the Mini-Medley Accents Colonial White (had TONS left over from my Miracle Kit)...again using the Embroidery Floss Neutral Assortment (Black)...I freehanded the words "thank you" all around the flower for my sentiment.
---------------------------------------
My 2 different ribbons are at the bottom of the card...the 1st is the Black Grosgrain Floral Ribbon (I used the backside) that comes in the Designer Ribbon Rounds - Black Collection...and the 2nd is the Colonial White Crocheted Ribbon that's layered on top...it comes in the Designer Ribbon Rounds - Colonial  White Collection.  I stitched the ribbon together using the Embroidery Floss Neutral Assortment (Colonial white)...made the 'ruffled' part as I went stitching the flaps together so they would hold.
-----------------------------
I don't always photograph the insides of my cards but I thought I would show you what this one looks like...I think it's so important to dress up the inside just like you do the outside...it just makes for a nicer presdentation!

I hope you've enjoyed my take on this weeks H2H Challenge...be sure to play along by creating you own artwork and linking back to the H2H Blog using Mr. Linky (complete rules are on  my sidebar or on the H2H Blog).

In the meantime, dont't forget to check out the other Design Team Members' Blogs and see what they've done with the RIBBON Challenge!!!

You drive me BANANAS....

Day 3....

I had to ask my teenage son if "you drive me bananas" was a good thing...lol.  When I was planning all the days, this immediately popped in my head (number 1...QT loves dried bananas and number 2...I love this monkey image from Life's a Jungle!!!).  The more I read it...the more I thought that maybe driving someone bananas means that they make you crazy....I've decided that this "bananas" is a good kinda crazy!!!

I used Jeanette's CMM from January 11th which includes Cocoa, Crystal Blue, Hollyhock & Garden Green.  I used B&T from Notebook, Cocoa Textured Cardstock (did you know that the backside of textured cardstock is a lighter shade of the frontside???  That's whay my monkey body is...the backside of the Cocoa textured cardstock!!!) and Cocoa Ink, Garden Green Cardstock and Garden Green ribbon (from a retired Creative Basics, I think) and a Hollyhock Button on the front and Hollyhock Ink on the "U" from the Dimensional Elements Mongrams - U...and tan hemp.
