Inspirational Friday with Mariëtte / L'inspiration du vendredi avec Mariëtte

This card I created for the Magenta Card Chain February 2022


The basis is a piece of water color paper in a slimline size where I placed three masks in heart shape. With a brayer I rolled out several colors of distress oxide inks onto the watercolor paper. With a blending brush I added shading around the heart masks. Did the stamping and stenciling in the background. Removed the heart masks and added some color in the centre of the hearts with a blending brush.

Stamped the birds on a seperate piece of water color paper, colored them and fussy cut them out and adhered them onto the hearts. I used the text labels as a ground for the birds.

Inspirational Friday with Mariëtte / L'inspiration du vendredi avec Mariëtte

This card I created for the Magenta Card Chain  January 2022


I started to stamp the heart flower onto watercolor paper and colored it in with my new Arteza watercolor gouache paints. I took a little sneek peak of it before heading on:


I stamped the flower again on masking paper, so that I could cover it up and start working on the background. The coloring on the background is also done with the watercolors and added some stenciling with matching colors of distress inks. Did some stamping into the background with black ink and added a text.

Magenta Card Chain - February calll for sign up

During the winter months we organize on our Magenta Style Passion Studio facebook page a monthly card exchange and registration is now open for our February exchange.

Inspirational Friday with Mariëtte / L'inspiration du vendredi avec Mariëtte

 I created this card for the Magenta card chain


On watercolor paper I glued down some torned book papers and washi tape and concentrated that in the middle part of the card. Added a layer of white and clear gesso and than started to add color.
I used a die to cut of the left edge so that it looks like a torned paper out of a spiral block. To finish the card of I adhered a butterfly as embeslishment and added a text label.

Magenta Card Chain

Yes! We will start up our monthly card chain exchange on the  Magenta Style - Passion Studio facebook group. Don't miss the fun and come join us!

This card is created with the Nuance pigment powders. I stamped the sunflower randomly on watercolor paper with versamark and heat set it with white embossing powder. Than I wet the centre of the flower with some water and sprinkled the Rosebud Nuance color on top of it. With a paint brush I spread the color a bit in the centre. For the outer petals I used the color Golden yellow.
The background color is done with the Nuance Grass green and Anthracite
