Love This Face

Good morning.

Off to work for me today so I finally remembered to schedule a blog post!

Today's page is the second and final from my recent Two Scrapbook Friends DT Kit, using the Hugs and Kisses collection by Simple Stories.

This is a sweet little mini collection perfect for those valentine, love inspired or general girlie pages.

I paired this time around with Kraft cardstock......who can resist a little Kraft here and there?

Love This Face

So you can see that the whole page centers around the background die cut......and the gorgeous little girl in the center there of course!

The 'heart' background is a 4"x6" overlay in the Silhouette store called Doodle Hearts which I stretched to approximately 8"x12".  I then randomly filled some of the hearts with patterned paper.

The bottom section of the background is letters I 'welded' to the overlay to form part of the title.  This is what I love about the Silhouette.....the possibilities are endless!

I decided not to glue these down and left them hanging as I like the shadow they create in this tone on tone area.

As always with collections from Simple Stories, there are co-ordinating stickers so I made use of a few of them starting with the word 'Love' for the title.

This was actually the inspiration for the whole page!

Finally, more stickers and layers to embellish the photograph, and a little messy thread to finish things off.

That's about all from me for today, but you can grab this collection for yourself either at the online store or in person at Two Scrapbook Friends.

Have a great day and I hope to be back Thursday with another page for ya.

Till then,
Jayne.x.

My Furry Valentine

Good morning.

It's Friday.....an extremely COLD Friday for sure, but never the less it's the perfect time to get your craft on!

I'm killing two birds with one stone today in the form of 2 DT projects.......I try my best not to do this but my time was fairly short the last couple of weeks so needs must!

I was given a great new kit from Two Scrapbook Friends containing the Hugs and Kisses collection by Simple Stories.  Perfect for those Valentine pages, but if you're like me and not much into lovey dovey photo shoots, it works great for the everyday too.

Also as it's Friday, it happens to be time for a brand new Sketch challenge over on the Scrapmuch? blog.

Team B is up this week so here's my take on this weeks sketch using the Hugs and Kisses line.......

Here's the sketch for you to play along with:

I flipped my page 180 degrees as I'm sure you can tell, purely because the background paper I chose to use has a flower cluster in the bottom left corner, and that's where I wanted to place my title.

I happened to have 2 sheets of this paper so I fussy cut the flowers from the second and stuck them over top with foam dots.

More fussy cutting for the line of hearts which were taken from another sheet of PP, then stitched with embroidery floss.

Finally, the photo (a selfie of me and my boy!) and lots of layers using a combination of papers, chipboard, paper clip, pin badge and the perfect co-ordinating stickers you can find in this collection.I also added a little embossing to the background using a stencil and pale pink embossing powder, and a little 'print' with a rubber stamp and black ink.

I also added some embossing to the background using a stencil and pale pink embossing powder, and a little more 'print' with a rubber stamp and black ink.

I think that's about all.

You can obviously find the Simple Stories line over at the Two Scrapbook Friends store so you can grab your own supplies.

Also I'd love for you to play along with this weeks Sketch-y Friday challenge with Scrapmuch?  You have until the end of the month to play along......just link up your creation over on the Scrapmuch? blog to be in with a chance of winning some goodies.  You can check out a little more inspiration from the rest of the team whilst you're there too.

Have a wonderful weekend.  We have an extended one here due to extreme cold temperatures and schools being closed......I wonder if it's too cold to shop?

See you next week,
Jayne.x.

Little Red Wagon #223 - Love!

Morning.

As I scheduled today's post last night, I'm wondering if this morning we are now in the midst of Winter storm #...... (who cares what number it is, just more of the white stuff!) as predicted by the forecasters?

Hibernation is becoming more and more appealing by the day I tell ya I'm so sick of this Winter.

Yes I realize I live in Canada and we have Winter every year so I have no right to complain blah, blah, blah........but I'm English so I'm taking advantage of my natural ability to moan about the weather!

At least I get to scrap today (if I dug myself out of my driveway that is!).

Anyhow, on to happier things......joyful things......romantic things.......I'm talking about the 'Lovefest' that's happening this week over at Little Red Wagon.

Yep, Jodi's taking the helm and in honour of the fast approaching most romantic day of the year (that's Valentine's Day for those of us who've been with their partner for more than 20 years!), she'd like to see a creation inspired by the word 'LOVE'.

Easy right?

I came up with a card which will be heading to the man in my life (no....not the puppy!) who has put up with me for the last 23 years (yes I really am that old!)......my hubby.

Here goes:

Look at those lips!  Not quite my shade but I like em anyway.

I thought I'd put in a little effort this week and go for an easel card.

It really was a little effort on my part because the Silhouette did most of the work!

I do like those lips though (which incidentally are a freebie file by Nicole Nowosad that you can go grab for yourself right here) so much so I stuck another set on there to act as the anchor for the easel.

Papers are Echo Park from a couple of years ago - I think they were the only 'Valentine' kind of collection I have in my stash.......a true romantic I know!

Why not spread a little 'LOVE' yourself and join in with this weeks challenge by linking up over on the blog.  The Girlfriends have a little inspiration there for you too.

I'll be seeing you later in the week with another scrapbook page so till then, have a good one,
Jayne.x.

Little Red Wagon #202 Frame It!

OK, so it's Regan's turn hosting the challenge this week over at ..........

and she'd like to see a frame on your project.

Done, and it's CAS all the way for this girl!

Here goes:

I did finally use one of the Crate Paper fabric frames I've been hoarding, since my girlfriend bought them for me quite a while ago........thanks Carola!

Digi is from Saturated Canary and coloured with Copic's.

I tried a slightly darker skin tone and I'm still trying to decide if she looks as though she has a slight sunburn!

Oh well, we live and learn.

Feel free to join in with this weeks challenge over on the blog, and don't forget to check out the creations from the rest of the girlfriends.

That's it from me, see you soon,

Piggy Love!

Good morning.

Here I am with my second Valentine card of the season, a day late but who cares!  It did actually get to the recipient on time which is the main thing.

Anyhow, nothing conveys the big 'L' emotion like a pig.....yes?

Maybe not, but again.....who cares if the image is super cute!  Almost makes me want to run out and buy a pig.......almost!

Here we go:

Details for this one are pretty much the same as yesterday's card..........digi is from Sliekje and coloured with Copic's

..........papers are from last years Valentine collection by We R Memory Keepers, and the layout is based on Sketch #88 over at The Deconstructed Sketch.

That's about it from me so have yourselves a great long weekend.

I'll be back next week with something suitably crafty, I hope.
Take care,
Jayne.x.

A whole wagon full of love!

Happy Valentine's Day!

I'm here to shower you all with a whole wagon load full of love.......on a card at least.

Thought I'd better actually post a Valentine card, seen as it is the big V Day.  As always, I'm running a little behind in the card making department so there will be another on here tomorrow.  Ahh well, you can never have to much Luuurve huh?

Here goes today's......this one was given to my youngest.

The image was a freebie from eons ago from Sliekje......she really does the cutest animal images and is pretty generous with her freebies!

Colouring is with Copic's............

.........papers are last years Valentine collection from We R Memory Keepers, and the layout inspiration was provided by Sketch #87 over at The Deconstructed Sketch.

Hope you have a wonderful day.......share the love!

See you tomorrow,

Love is.............

Hello again, another Sunday has rolled around, which means it's time for a new challenge over at the One Stitch At A Time Challenge Blog. Our sponsor this week, who is offering a gift voucher to their on-line store is........

The theme of this weeks challenge is 'New Beginnings', that could be New Home, New Baby, New Love/Engagement/Wedding, or even just using your vast amount of 'New Stash'......you get the picture?

So, onto my DT project for this week, here's at least one guy who is gearing up for Valentines' Day..........'Lil' Cupid'.............

Fairly vintage this week. I worked with an image from Floppy Latte Designs called, as previously mentioned, Lil' Cupid, and you can find him over at the Stitchy Bear Stamps Store. He was coloured, as per usual with a combination of Prisma pencils and Copic markers, and there is quite a scattering of ultra fine glitter on there too. The sentiment is another digi I picked up a while ago through the Free Digital Stamps blog, and was created by Raindrop Echo Designs. I'm not sure which song John Lennon included these words in, but I thought how lovely they were, and would fit perfectly with what I was intending here.

I should have maybe mentioned, that the 'New Beginning' I had in mind was probably an Engagement. The papers I've used are from Basic Grey's Cappella line, together with plenty of ink and distressing. I had this idea of Cupid delivering an ancient message of love, so that's where the 'scroll' idea comes in. I added various bits of bling, ribbon and flowers and used foam dots in places, to get the dimension I wanted.

I'm not too pleased with the photo I've used here, as the light picked up the transparent bling swirl sticker, which in real life is pretty sheer. Oh well, it was too late to take another, so you'll just have to take my word for how good it looks really! (lol)

Well, that's it from me, so go visit the OSAAT blog and check out the other DT creations. I'll be entering this into a few challenges I'm sure, so I'll be back later with the deets.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Be Mine............

Good morning everyone, hope you're having a good weekend. This Sunday (ie. today) marks the return of challenges over at the OSAAT Challenge Blog. Which basically means, for me at least, I will finally get my lazy blogging behind back into gear..........on a Sunday at least!

Our sponsor for this weeks challenge is............

So, Christmas is over which means the theme this week, in preparation for that one love filled day in February, is of course............Valentine, or love in general. Maybe you're like me and everyday is filled with romance, chocolates, birds singing in the trees..............yeah, we can dream right! Reality kicked in pretty swiftly then, when I glanced across to the kitchen where the pile of dishes sit in the sink, awaiting my love and attention!

I have, however, poured a whole load of my affection into this weeks DT creation, so here goes...............

Pretty sweet if I say so myself, and I think I will actually save this for my Hubby, as the ribbon has "Be Mine" splashed repeatedly across there..............may rock the boat a little if I hand it to someone else don't ya think?
So, I made a little extra effort this week (being the first challenge of the New Year and all) and made a card and matching 'favour' box. First up, here's a closer look at the card, and then we'll get into the details................

This cute little image from Kelley' Kids, which you can find in the Stitchy Bear Digital Stamps Store, could be yours for free, as it's part of the January collaboration pack, free with any purchase of $10 or more.

I coloured her with a combination of Prisma pencils and Copic markers, then fussy cut around the image, before mounting onto a die cut from a Nestie. The flower was a dollar store find, along with the folded doilies it's attached to. Ribbon is Martha Stewart, and the crochet trim and heart button are from one of my favourite local scrapbook stores....Two Scrapbook Friends. DP's are from the new BoBunny line I picked up last week and cardstock from Bazzil. Think that's everything, other than the fact that I glittered her wings, and most of the hearts are finished with Glossy Accents.

Onto the favour box..........

..............No, I didn't make this solely using my own brain power! I used a template for the box, which I downloaded for free quite some time ago, from Cuddly Buddly Crafts. I used the same image as on the card of course, just enlarged, cropped and printed it in a frame using Word, then cut using my Nestie. Ultrafine glitter and Glossy Accents make an appearance again, along with the same Martha Stewart ribbon. I also used a Martha Stewart border punch on the center band.

I think that's all folks! Hope you like em. If you'd like to check out what the rest of the DT have come up with this week, hop on over to OSAAT and take a look.

I'll be back later with some challenge entries.

Enjoy the rest of your day.

Love...........

OK, for today's card, something waaaaay different from my 'Lollipop's' and 'Bella' stamps I usually grab for. We're going..........Vintage! I love this style of card but never make one very often, cause I think I'm scared of messing it up. Anyhow, when I saw this beautiful image...........'LOVE' by Stitchy Stamps, (which you can find at the Stitchy Bear Store right here) I knew I needed to roll back the years and go for it. I know it's not perfect, as I kept itching to add a little more, but I am pleased with it, so here goes..............

Did I mention that I 'LOVE' this image.....so classic. I also 'LOVE' the papers from Graphic 45.........been hoarding them forever!

I coloured the image of course with my Prisma pencils, and a touch of Copic markers for skin tones and the word "love". I glittered the letters and fur and then fussy cut around the image. The telegram is cut from a sheet of the DP then inked, and the ticket is from a K&Company vintage pack. Ribbon and the pearly swirl are from a $$$$ store and the stick pins are from Jenni Bowlin. I also stitched and distressed the edge of the papers, and the sentiment is cut from a Nestie, printed from Word, and inked. Phew, that's all the 'deets' over with.

This classy Lady will be entered into a number of challenges of course, one being over at Flourishes Timeless Tuesday, whose challenge this week is to chose a particular print from Cafe Baudelaire Prints, as inspiration. I chose the following, so I'm hoping you can see a connection.............
The other challenges being entered are as follows:
