Mmmm Hot Chocolate

How's it going?

Just dropping in with another well overdue (to be blogged anyhow!) layout!

This one is the second from my Two Scrapbook Friends DT Kit using the Cozy collection by Authentique so as you may guess, it's a Wintery kinda page.  The title sort of gives things away, and although I'm guessing most of us wouldn't settle down with a steaming hot mug at this time of year, in my book, you can enjoy something sweet all year round.

So here we go:

Mmmmm Hot Chocolate

The background started off with a layer of clear Gesso, then mist smudged with a watery paintbrush.

There's also texture paste stencilled on there and some stamped coffee mug stains.  A little collection of embellies in the top corner, and I do love that 'knitted' print paper.

More layers of punched papers and Gesso splattered chipboard behind the photo's, and a little journalling printed onto vellum.

Finally, a small cluster of flowers and chipboard snowflakes.....all dabbed with more Gesso.

That's about all folks so I'll try to get back again over the weekend with another page.

Have a good week,
Jayne.x.

True Happiness

Well hello there!

So let's catch up shall we?  There's been far too little blogging around here recently and as I still have Winter pages to post, I think I'd better get moving before this Winter decides to make an appearance.

You'll have to forgive grammar and spelling today as I'm not moving all that quickly.......the results of a Birthday sleepover for my eldest last night.......5 girls, lot's of food, movies, chatter and a full on pillow fight complete with war paint at one point - but it was all good fun and we did sleep.....eventually!

So, today's page is from what feels like eons ago (because it was!) and was part of a DT Kit from Two Scrapbook Friends......the Cozy Collection by Authentique.

This first page uses some treasured photo's of my girls when there were small.....I just love the expressions on their faces, but I have been told by certain people (you know who you are!!) that this is not a 'Jayne' page at all!

Not sure why but I guess you can decide for yourselves:

True Happiness

It starts with a fab little background cut from 'Birch' grain paper on my Silhouette and layered on top of Kraft.

There's also a textured white embossing powder dabbed here and there for a snowy effect.

A few layers of stickers, paper and thread hold the photo's, and I do like those brass mittens and natural hemp.

Finally the action shots......framed with Kraft, photo corners and a little white Gesso around the edges.

The title was also cut using my Cameo.

There we go.....one down......a few more to go!

Have a wonderful day enjoying the sunshine I hope and I'll see you in a couple of days,
Jayne.x.

Sketch-y Friday at Scrapmuch? - Snow

Good morning.

I'm totally flying by the seat of my pants this week.......hubby's away, no day off work this week and of course my girls seem to have more things scheduled than ever!

All this means I'm stretched in 3 different directions and definitely not much time for crafting, but fortunately I did just about manage a layout for this weeks Sketch challenge over at Scrapmuch?

(I'll be back with a second post later today, for this weeks Little Red Wagon......only 2 days late!)

So, another great Sketch provided by Laura and this one was calling for a little mixed media.

Snow.

I'm sure you can tell from my expression that I'm a huge fan of Winter!

This was one of those 'shovel 4 times in a day' kinda days from last year......the best!!!!

I started the page by dabbing Mister Huey's white mist onto the background, with a scrunched up plastic bag.

I then added Martha Stewart Texture Paste through a stencil, and cut a few random sections of hexagons to layer........patterned papers are from Carta Bella.

The snowflakes are cut using a punch and I dotted a few pearls/rhinestones here and there.

Finally a little lace tape along the photographs (which I framed with a coat of White Out) and some journalling to set the mood.

Here is the fourth and final sketch for October's Scrapmuch? Challenges.......

......and you know how much you'd like to play along, so what are ya waiting for?

Just link up your own creation over on the blog, and you could be in with a chance of winning some goodies!

Have a great day, but I'll be back again in a couple of hours for this weeks (late) Little Red Wagon post......just as soon as it's light enough to take a photograph.

Have a good one,
Jayne.x.

'Snow' Much Fun!

Are ya?  Are ya having 'Snow' much fun?!!

NOT.

At least my kiddo's were in the photo's on this page.  Me.....not so much......totally sick and tired of the freezing cold white stuff, but I'm sure you've heard that story before.

Here goes today's layout:

I kept things pretty simply, just allowed the background to do it's thing.

The title was created with my Silhouette.....

.... and various die cuts/embellies were scattered here and there.

The background die cut is from Jillibean Soup and patterned papers are from Bazzil.

Have a great weekend and I'll see you Monday,

Little Red Wagon #217 Christmas.

Hi there, how's it going?

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and Santa was good to you!

Apologies for not being around here much this last week but the crafting cupboard has been closed while I took a few days off.......I say this this, which really means I worked Christmas Eve, had Christmas day with the family and was back in on Boxing Day......the joys of working retail!

In between everything I feel as though I've been baking constantly.......4 dozen Christmas cookies, 3 dozen mince pies, 2 dozen chocolate eclairs, 1 tiramisu, a platter of chocolate dipped strawberries etc.etc. and a partridge in a pear tree!

Of course I feel blessed to have the luxury of enjoying all these things so no complaints here.......just not much time for crafting!  This now means of course that I'm late with this weeks post for..........

Oh well, can't have everything!

It's Rosanne's turn to host this weeks challenge and she'd like to see anything Christmas.

I have a cute little project to share with you today as Santa was really good to me.......I must have been a very good girl this year because my long awaited gift arrived in the mail last week, courtesy of my hubby........my very own Silhouette Cameo!

Anyone that knows me is aware of how much I wanted (needed!) this thing, so it's probably a good form of self preservation on my hubby's part, cause he longer has to hear the pining, whining and general nagging!

Anyhow, at this point I'm not too sure what I'm doing with it but I thought I'd have a little play.......an experiment of sorts for this weeks project, so here goes:

I feel as though I've cheated which of course I have, because other than a little glue and the slightest effort, the machine did most of the work! I also now realize that it's not really Christmassy - more Wintery but......too late!

I added a little vellum behind the windows for effect and a touch of ribbon to the top, so I think it's pretty cute especially if you add a battery tea-light in there (if only I had one!).

That's about all for now, so head on over to the Little Red Wagon blog where you can check out even more Christmassy creations, just in case you haven't seen enough this season(lol).

I'll be back whenever I can steal a few more minutes of time, so till then have a wonderful weekend,
Jayne.x.

Little Red Wagon #215 - Christmas Birthday.

Good morning on yet another freezing cold day in these parts.

I'm definitely NOT a Winter person so it's about now I start getting grouchy and dreaming of hibernation!

To make matters worse, our puppy has decided he LOVES snow, so what  used to be a quick dash outside to do what needed to be done (!), has now turned into an epic journey of discovery, rolling around and frolicking in the white stuff every time we venture out there!

Thermals will be added to the Christmas list me thinks........hope I've been a good girl otherwise the dogs gonna loose out.

Anyhow onto the purpose of today's post, (but just in case you're wondering, no I have not succumbed to any nasty bacteria my kiddo's may feel the need to share.......yet!).........it's Little Red Wagon Day........

Tammy's leading the charge today and as she's a December baby, she'd like to see some Christmassy kinda Birthday cards.

Don't think I've ever made one to be honest, but what I can gather from anyone I've ever come into contact with who has a Birthday within the close vicinity of Christmas, they usually get the 'double up' kinda card/prezzie. This in turn might peeve them, I'm guessing, just a little.......rightly so!

Now as I'm not one to rub salt in the wounds I thought I'd make a sweet, perfectly appropriate Birthday card with no hint or suggestion of recycling, or anything Christmas!

I love the look on this girls face - the kind you see when they find the dreaded Christmas sweater under the tree, and perfect for our topic of conversation!

Digi is from Saturated Canary and coloured with Copic's, while papers are a 2012 winter collection from We R Memory Keepers.

That's about all so head on over to the Little Red Wagon blog for some Christmassy Birthday inspiration from the rest of the Girlfriends.
You can wish Tammy a Happy Christmas Birthday while you're there too!

Have a great day and I'll see you Friday,
Jayne.x.

Cheers!

Good Monday morning, how's it going?

I'm doing a really good job of ignoring the pile of laundry that's just sitting there staring at me! I'd much rather blog.

I'm here with a little winter creation as the snow sitting outside my window has definitely set the scene. This one's probably heading across the pond to my Uncle who's Birthday is next month, so on that note........'Cheers!'..........

This cozy mouse is a 'freebie' I picked up eons ago from Torico's Digital Gallery, but unfortunately I can no longer find any links for it.

The image is coloured with Prisma pencils and mineral spirits, with a little Glossy Accents on his eyes.

Papers are from last years Bo Bunny winter line and the layout was inspired by a previous sketch from The Deconstructed Sketch.
The snowflakes were made using a couple of different sized punches..........

and the sentiment was printed using Word.........

That's it from me for today. I'm now gonna completely ignore that laundry and go get groceries........the lesser of two evils!

Have a great day

3 in 1........

.........there's something quite satisfying about completing a challenge, especially if you manage to combine numerous challenges, and still meet requirements. That can be a whole other challenge, so I'm quite happy with this card I created last night, that I'll be entering in 3 different challenges. From The Greeting Farm, here's Anya......in the snow........

So, here they are (in no particular order), we have

Cute Card Thursday #126 A sketch by Fran : this was a great sketch......lots of layers.

Flutter By Wednesday #118 a recipe challenge.......... 1 part sparkle, 2 parts DP, 3 parts buttons or gems (and of course you have to have an angel, butterfly or fairy on there) : I think I got everything in.

7 Kids College Fund challenge No.2 Strip It Down........use no more than 2 layers of DP on your card : this was quite a challenge as the sketch mentioned previously, has loads of layers. I made up for the lack of DP, with loads of card stock, embossed or otherwise!

So, I coloured with the usual combination of Copic's and Prisma's, used plenty of glitter, sponged around the image with a grey ink, also used some handmade paper on there to create that soft 'downy' fuzz. The angel is sort of pieced together with various shapes of chipboard I had (covered with card stock and inked). DP's are K & Company and Basic Grey's Kioshi.

Well, that's it for now..........I have to get working on my card for Stamping Bella's, Bellarific Friday.
