Making Merry, Christmas Elves from Beccy's Place

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

I hope you are all well. We aren't around for a while. I will catching up with things we are around again.

Beccy from Beccy's Place has created some fantastic elf images that are great fun to use. My first thought was to make some Christmas tags. I ended up making three slimline cards. I was using the Making Merry Digital Image set.

I do love those Snowflake Corners.

Aren't those images fun.

I was able to use some lovely papers.

This is a lovely set of cards just right for posting,

Here is my bonus project. I decorated a gift bag. I coloured the image and I drew the background. This is the sort of thing that I find very relaxing.

Here are all of my makes together. They are lots of fun.

John Next Door Christmas Release One

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How was your weekend? We had a nice time. On Saturday it was my husband's birthday and with our son-in-law's he picked up our new car. This also meant that I got to spend some time with our daughter like we used to do. We even watched some trashy wedding themed telly together. When we were all back together we shared a nice meal and some birthday cake. On Sunday we had a quieter day though we did pop out to a garden centre. We just need to get our old car taken away.

At the weekend John Lockwood aka John Next Door released part one of his Christmas selection. Here are the samples I made with the dies and stamps.

Aren't those dies just stunning. When you use the small poinsettia die you get so many flowers.

I do like making slimline cards. The sentiment was foiled with my Kaleido.

The dies work well on a gift bag.

I love these snowflakes I should have used them more.

That mandala is so pretty and there are so many ways to cut it and arrange it.

Here I put two of the Baroque frames together. They are ideal for ribbon. I love those corners.

Another one with the Baroque frame.

I think I used most things on this card.

This is a picture heavy post. I did have fun with these dies and stamps. Foiling with the Kaleido works very well especially now I have learnt to leave the ink to dry for a long time. I have also changed my stamping platform.

Have a great week.

Presscut Art Deco Dies for Crafts-Too and John Next Door

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

I hope you are having a good weekend. Having seen my parents last week there has been a lot to sort out. I have manged to fit in a little crafting. My A4 die cutting machine finally gave up on Friday. I am working on getting a replacement. I do have the Kaleido but I need an A4 machine for bigger dies. My hubby is being very supportive. I am sure something will be sorted soon.

Here are the cards and other bits I made with the Presscut Deco dies that are being released by John Next Door on the Craft Store at 6.00 pm today.

I do like extending the use of the dies I am given. This is a shaker card with some butterflies in the centre.

Often when I have the coloured card out for one card another card will suggest itself. This time I have made a square card with a rectangular die. This time I made flower with the Small Flowers die.

I think this is my favourite card. I just love the colours and the way the die work. I added  flowers made with the Periwinkle die. I used an off cut from the background paper. The sentiments I used came from the Deco Butterflies die set.

I love making boxes. The acetate I used in this one came from packaging and has gold dots on it. When I had made the box I went out to buy the chocolates to go in it. The colours were just perfect. I added another Periwinkle flower.

Here is a gift bag with more Periwinkle flowers.

This was a fun set of dies to use. Look out for them in other makes. I am sure I will be using them a lot.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend. I have two weeks of invigilating coming up.

Crafts Galore Encore Challenge #85 - Anything Goes - Sponsor Polkadoodles

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How was your weekend? The weather was nice to fit in some walks and a spot of gardening.  It is just possible we will be getting the letters for our vaccinations next week. I really hope so.

Being the first of the month the new challenge starts at the Crafts Galore Encore Challenge blog. The theme is Anything Goes and the sponsor is the fabulous Polkadoodles

Here is the card I made. The backing paper came from the store as well. It is just so pretty and it set the tone for my colouring. The lace I used was in my stash.

There are so many wonderful images and craft supplies in the Polkadoodles store. Click on the logo and you will be taken there.

This image is called Sky's the Limit and it is available HERE.  I  made a blue background on my computer. The image being a PNG laid over the top of the background. I coloured the image with my Faber Castell Polychromo colouring pencils. I do find colouring very relaxing.

I did print the image in two different sizes. I so enjoy colouring that I coloured both. I found a gift bag in my stash that needed decorating so that is what I did.

Here are the two together. I think they make a nice set.

Not Just Cards Challenge Blog - May Challenge - Anything Goes

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

Here we are at the beginning of another week. I hope you are all okay. It was my birthday at the weekend. I did have a lovely day. It strange how the simple things now seem to be so important. I was in touch with all the people that I care most about and that is what matters. We have also been doing an online Murder Mystery and the interrogation of the suspects was on Saturday evening.

Today the May challenge starts at the Not Just Cards Challenge blog and the theme is Anything Goes.

I was asked by a friend to make a gift bag and card for a one of their friends whose 50th Birthday Party they had been invited to. I made the gift bag to match the packaging on the gift that had been purchased. The papers I used are from an old set from Do-Crafts. The decoupage was in the set too. The card stock I used came from Anna Marie designs. I bought some 12" x 24" card from them and it is very useful for larger projects. It was nice to have something other than a card to share for the Not Just Cards Challenge blog.

Why not come and join in with our challenge. Click on the logo and you will be taken there.

Here is the card that I made to match the bag and of course the present. I used the same paper set. I have had the papers for ages. It was good to use them. I used a mix for dies to personalise the card and the gift bag.

This is the picture our daughter drew for my birthday. I am a huge Star Trek fan. We knew her hubby was a keeper when he wanted to come to Destination Star Trek with us.

In the end the party was cancelled and these things had to be posted. As the plans for our friends and our plans had changed we invited our friends round for a meal and that is the last time we saw them. Of course we have kept in touch with Zoom chats. It is just isn't the same.

Stay safe and take care.

Festive Trio - Card, Tag and Gift Bag all matching

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How has your week been., Mine has mostly been filled with invigilating. I did manage a room of children with three different papers and two different end times all by myself. I have one more session this week and some more next week. The weekend will be busy. We will be sorting out things for Christmas and our upcoming holiday. On Sunday we will be visiting both sets of parents.

Here is a trio of matching Christmas items that I made.

I bought the John Next Door Magazine box kit and it came with a lovely Snowflake embossing folder. I used glitter card for one of the mats when you walk past they all catch the light beautifully.

The sentiment came from the Happy Snowflakes set.

To make the flowers I used, from the John Next Door Christmas dies,  the Poinsettia die and the Swirl Poinsettia die. I created the leaves with the Poinsettia die.

I did actually make the bag first the design was in the magazine and it fits a small bottle of liqueur and some sweets. I made the tag to match. This little set will be going to one of my lovely friends that I used to work with.

Crafts Galore Encore - August Challenge - Anything Goes

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? We are still hospital visiting. My mother-in-law went back into hospital. Last time they let her out too soon.  Both of my in-laws are in their 90s I think there are going to have to be some changes to their living arrangements. This is my first blog post today. The second will follow soon.

Today is busy in blog land being the first of the month. The new challenge starts at the Crafts Galore Encore Challenge blog our theme is Anything Goes.  The fabulous sponsor is Fred She Said.

I fell in love with this digi set as soon as I saw it. I matched it with some tartan paper and some tartan ribbon,

There are many wonderful and varied images in the store. Click on the logo and you will be taken there.

This cute little Westie comes in the Winter Westie digital stamp set that is available HERE.  I made a background on the computer I placed the PNG image on top and he was coloured with Promarkers.  I cut the image and the mats with some Tattered Lace oval dies. I just had to add a ribbon.

This is a Crafter's Companion die set.

Then I made a matching gift bag. Here is my tutorial to make the Gift Bag.

Here they are together.  Can you see how the dogs face each other. It is so easy to flip a digi image.
I did make some Christmas cards with these images I will sharing them later.

Easter Makes for our good Friends

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

I hope you have had a good week and are ready for the weekend ahead. I am home alone today. My husband and his brothers are off to see a house they own to try to decide what to do with it. My plan  is to work on the card I am making for my husband's special birthday this year. It is quite complicated and will take me a while to complete. It is okay for me to share about it here as he never looks at my blog. He is very supportive though.

I bought our friends a small bottle of flavoured gin for Easter. I was looking at the bottle and I decided to make a gift box for it. Then I made a matching card. Finally I made a matching gift bag for the fudge I bought at the same time as the gin.

Lets start with the card.

I have had the Gerberas Dies Pop Out Panel from the John Next Door range from Crafts-Too for a while now. It was easy cutting the panel three times to make this card. I did press each of the petals out.

I decided to make an Opera Box for the gin. I wanted the box to be taller than the original die. So I checked on John's Blog and I cut the card to the length I wanted it and I scored five panels at 5cms each. The Pop Out Panel fitted nicely onto the box panels. I backed each panel with yellow. I made a Gerbera for the top of the box.

On my blog I have a page for making a gift bag. I made this one a little taller so the Pop Out  panel would fit.

Our friends were thrilled with the gifts and the card. I know they liked the gin they sent us a photo. I do hope they make some more panels that will fit the Opera Box die set.

Tattered Lace - Bunny Bathtime

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

I hope you are having a good week. The weather has been amazing here. I hope it is where you are too.

A couple of weeks ago, out of the blue, I got an email from Tattered Lace asking me to make some samples. I was a bit surprised as I stepped down from the team some time ago. Anyway I was curious so I responded positively and I was sent a die to work with.

These are the samples I sent in. The die I was sent is called Bunny Bath-time and it is part of the Modern Romance collection.

I made an easel card the die was cut in white and coloured with my Promarkers. The background was created with the shaving foam technique it was made some time ago but it seemed to fit with this die.

I decorated a notebook. This would make a nice gift.

I wanted to make a card with just the mummy bunnies.

So I had all the bunnies in the bath left over. To make the card I generated the sentiment on the computer.

Gift bags are always nice to make. This time I paper pieced the die.

Here are all the samples together. The die was released yesterday. I haven't seen any of the shows so I don't know if they were used. I have just sent off another set of samples I really must stop there. Time is running out to make things for the wedding.

Happy Crafting
