One Layer Happy Birthday

Hello & Happy Tuesday!

It's week 5 of the school holidays and I feel it's zooming past. I don't feel ready for them to be over quite yet, I'm enjoying the non routine of life. Creating has been a little bit hit and miss this past week, but I did manage to make a quick one layer birthday card for my Mother In Law yesterday.

I'm trying hard to embrace the soft stencilling and I achieved this by not inking my blending brushes at all with fresh ink. I simply used what was remaining on each of these coloured brushes and I am delighted with the results.

I wanted a silhouette image to layer over the Stencil - MOD Background Builder and decided upon the one from Just Because and the sentiment from Happy Days. A few enamel dots in Pebble finished my quick make.

I hope you are all well and enjoying the remainder of the summer. Who knows, we might get a nice Indian Summer for September  - here's hoping!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!

I couldn't let the day pass without popping by to wish you all a happy, healthy & wonderful 2023. I hope it brings you all you desire.

Did you have a good festive season?

I really enjoyed some downtime with the family and time away from the studio. So much so that I actually had to clear the decks before I could make anything. It actually felt good to give it a good tidy and put things back where they should be!

I felt a little rusty getting inky and other than being inspired by the fireworks last night, plus the Pantone Colour of 2023, Viva Magenta I totally just went with the flow with my card.

I used the Stencil - Party Confetti inked with Concord & 9th Honeysuckle. I then stamped the 'happy' from Festive Sentiments and the New Year from Christmas Sentiments. I then added a trio of bursts from Mid Century Modern Florals.

A little busier than my usual clean and simple style, but I am hoping to venture outside of my comfort zones more this year. And not just when it comes to creating. There are so many wonderful things coming this year following a few doors I opened at the end of the year.

To start though is the first NEW RELEASE of 2023!!

Let's just say, if you love the Mid Century Modern Collection, then you're going to love it. Sneak Peeks are coming on Monday 9th January and the NEW products will be available on Friday 13th January. Keep an eye out on social media, as some little sneaky peeks might just pop up.

Two For Tuesday

 Hello & Happy Tuesday.

It's been a while since I did a Two For Tuesday post and it just so happened I made a couple of one layer cards using a mix of Flower Power and Sentiments Outlined. I kept the layout the same for both, but just switched up the flowers and sentiments.

I started by stamping the sentiment in black ink from Sentiments Outlined and then scattered the solid flower from Flower Power #7 in Sorbet and Honeysuckle C9 inks.

The leaf is from Flower Power #6 and stamped in C9 Parsley. I finished the design with some Gloss Dandelion Yellow Nuvo Drops to the centre of the flowers. I also coloured the sentiment with an aqua shade of Copic Marker.

For my second card I used the rose from Flower Power #6 and this time stamped them in Poppy and Honeysuckle C9 inks.

I thought the 'Have a Perfect Day' sentiment was a nice choice and this time I stamped it in turquoise and coloured in the closest match of Copic Marker.

Two fairly quick cards and wonderfully mail friendly!

That's all from me today. Thanks for stopping by.

Brand Ambassador Inspiration - WILD

Good morning

Anita here with some inspiration for you.  More often than not when crafting I reach for florals so I decided to go off on a tangent this time and picked out the WILD clear stamp set and a couple of co-ordinating stencils.

For my first two cards I combined the stamp set with the Tiger Print Stencil.  Here's the first one...

Rather than go with the traditional tiger stripe colours I thought I'd try tone on tone with black, and I love how this turned out.  I laid the stencil over some black cardstock and pressed through it with my VersaMark ink pad, going over it a few times to ensure all the areas were covered.  I then heat embossed the stripes in black, but this would work equally well with clear embossing powder too.  I die cut the panel with a stitched rectangle and then went over the surface with an anti-static powder tool before stamping the sentiment and paw print also in VersaMark, which were then heat embossed in gold and copper.  I then popped the panel up on 3D foam onto my card base.

And for my second card, a one layer card with a completely different feel using the same Tiger Print Stencil...

This time I used a heart die to make an aperture out of a scrap piece of card and used this as a stencil.  I ink blended onto my card base, first with Kitsch Flamingo Distress Ink, before placing the Tiger Print stencil over the top and inking over it with a Festive Berries Distress Ink.  I then simply finished by stamping the sentiment in black and adding some gems.

And for my final card I combined the stamp set with the Giraffe Print stencil...

I began with a die cut panel of light coloured kraft cardstock and stamped the word WILD in the centre.  I then masked the inside of the letters, by cutting out the sentiment which I had stamped onto post-it notes.  Next I masked off around the edges of the panel to leave a slim border and then ink blended through the Giraffe Print stencil using Distress Inks in Tea Dye and a touch of Rusty Hinge.  When all the masks were removed I then stamped the remainder of the sentiment in black.  To help the sentiment to stand out a little I added some Wink of Stella for some sparkle.

I had great fun making these and I hope you like them.  There is a third stencil in the series, the Zebra Print stencil, which I'm yet to get my hands on.  It's currently out of stock but please do check back at a later date if you want that one, I'm sure Bev is working to get this one back asap.

Thanks so much for joining me today, I hope to be back with more to share very soon.

Take care

Two For Tuesday - Hello Lovely

 Happy Tuesday!

It's been a little while since I did a Two For Tuesday and as the weather at the weekend was absolutely dismal I spent some much needed creative time in the studio to cheer myself up!

I was inspired to dust off Hello Lovely and a few of my Distress Oxide inks as it has been a while since I have used both!

With Hello Lovely being such a large detailed stamp with a bold statement it can be used in so many ways. You know I am not an expert when it comes to colouring AND these days its a tie between not having enough patience OR being needed for something! So opting for a quick colour solution is always welcomed - haha!

I didn't time myself making these cards, but at a guess I'd say they took me 15 mins each, so half an hour max. I think the longest part was the masking.

On this first card I masked a rectangle in the centre of my card base. There are lots of masking type stencils out there, but I don't have a rectangle and I have a roll of Post-it tape that works wonderfully. It can sometimes be a little over sticky and take off card with it (see the bottom right corner of this card) when removed, but only if I forget to go slow.

I used Distress Oxides in Worn Lipstick, Festive Berries, Picked Raspberry and Abandoned Coral from top to bottom to create this beautiful background. I then simply stamped the Hello Lovely peony cluster in black ink over the top. I added a sentiment also from the set and my current favourite accent stamp, the trio of circles from Floral Vines.

This lead me onto my second card today...

I wanted to keep my colours and layout the same, so for this card I created ink blended stripes and I absolutely love how it turned out. Again I used Post-it masking tape and it worked really well. I took it slow to peel off this time ;)

I'm loving this colour combo of pinks and reds too, I think this card shows each of the colours off better and it's more striking.

What do you think? Are you a fan of red and pink together?

That's all from me today, its a busy week in The Studio this week with some restocks coming - yay! Plus it's my birthday on Friday AND I get my first Covid vaccine on Saturday so I am trying to get ahead a little.

Thanks for stopping by.

Brand Ambassador Inspiration - One layer Christmas card made with non-Christmas stamps

Hi there!

Hannelie here showing a Christmas card made with a floral stamp set... and it's one layer for super easy mailing!

I used a simple triangle mask to create my Christmas tree. Mine was cut with my Silhouette cameo, but you can use a die or even cut a mask with a ruler and craft knife. I blended some light green ink with the mask in place and then started stamping the largest bloom of the Kindness-blooms-clear-stamp-set . I stamped from the bottom up , dark to light, simply overlapping the flowers. I then used the dot from the set to decorate the tree and the flower center for the star on top of the tree. I used the word "JOY" from Festive-sentiments-outlined-clear-stamp-set as the trunk of the Christmas tree. Finally added some glossy accents to the 'baubles' and added tiny dots of gold liquid pearls to the star.

I hope this will inspire you to be creative with your supplies !

Thanks for stopping by today :)

DT Inspiration Rahmat - No line coloring on One layer

Hello everyone Rahmat here.

I am up with a one layer card with no line water coloring today!

I have used the Snowdrop set here.
I used Vaersamark watermark ink to stamp the image and used Staedtler Marsgraphic 3000 duo brush pens to water color. I could have finished it in one day, but I had taken time to color this one, and finished it over 2 days(approximately 2 hours in total).
Once I was happy with the coloring, I used the Natures treasures set to stamp the grass using Stampin' Up - Wild Wasabi ink. I then added some glossy accents to the flowers.
Once it was dry, I added the green splatters.
Finally stamped the sentiment to finish off.
Day 1

Finished coloring

A close up at the glossy accents on the snowdrops

Thank you for stopping by, I really appreciate your kind  feedback :) Have a great day!

CAS Colours & Sketches #263 - Sketch

Hey!

This month our hostess is Fiona and she started things off with a fun colour combo last week and HERE this week has this super sketch to inspire your CAS card making...

So many wonderful ideas sprung to mind when I sat down to create my card, this sketch has so many options. However, this is how I decided to use it...

I decided to make a one layer card and I also wanted to join in on the current challenge over at AAA Cards HERE, who's current challenge is ombré.

Life is a Song is one of the February 2018 Release clear stamp sets that I didn't give much inky love to, so I thought I would use it. I used my MISTI to stamp the ombré diagonal lines in opposing corners and also to stamp the ombré music sentiment.

Super simple from me today, but I hope I have inspired you to join in on the challenge?! If you need a little more inspiration, pop on over HERE to see what the CC&S Design Team have created.

CAS Colours & Sketches #256 Sketch

Hey!

I am back THIS week and again your hostess for the January challenges over at CAS Colours & Sketches. I loved seeing how you were all inspired using last weeks colours. This week is sketch week and I have this to inspire you (hopefully)...

Cute stamps are not my 'go to' when it comes to purchasing or using and I haven't really designed that many either! However, when I saw the Stampin' Up! Sale-A-Bration Party Pandas, I couldn't resist and they landed in my recent order ;)

Having seen the current challenge HERE over at "Less is More" I decided to ink one up for my one layer card using my sketch.

I thought she could be holding a Valentine's envelope in her paws, so I decided to ink a masked die cut heart and added some Uniko love sentiments from Simply Said Blocks and Pure Florals: Rose.

A pretty quick CAS card and not much waffle from me today, I've a Ben Bean day today and there is much playing and learning to be done!

I hope thatI have inspired you to join in on the challenge?! If you need a little more inspiration, pop on over HERE to see what the CC&S Design Team have created.

Thanks for stopping by!

Uniko Sponsors "Less is More"

Hey & Happy Weekend!

I'm super duper pleased you have popped by this morning as today the countdown to the October Release continues AND myself and Uniko are proud to be sponsoring the challenges over at "Less is More" this month  - YAY!

This week is one layer week and the theme is stars, so I couldn't pass up the opportunity to create another Guest Design / Sponsor card!

It seemed totally appropriate to ink up Background Builders: Seeing Stars clear stamp set from the September 2017 Release and I just *had* to pair it with a NEW Uniko Stencil being released on Monday - whoohoo!

Can you tell that I am just a little excited about this new product?!

Last weekend I treated myself to some more Distress Oxide inks and I have used Peacock Feathers and Picked Raspberry with this fun Wonky Stripe stencil. I did some simple masking on my base card before applying the ink and blending them to create a lovely purple shade too :) I still nee a little practice with stencils, but I am loving these inks!

I then used my MISTI to stamp the sentiment from Festive Sentiments and the stars in VersaFine Onyx Black ink and heat embossed them with Stardust EP. The birthday sentiment is from Happy Succulents and I went in and added a few tiny stamped stars.

I hope I have inspired you to join in on the fun?!

That's all from myself for now, but be sure to head on over HERE to see what the "Less is More" Design Team have created to inspire you and to join in on the fun too. I hope to see you in the gallery!

I'll be back AGAIN soon with the last of the October 2017 product introductions!

CAS Colours & Sketches #214

Hey!

It's Tuesday and time for another CAS Colours & Sketches challenge. My apologies for being MIA last week, with the recent Uniko Release HERE and two crazy beans I was so exhausted by the time they went to bed I didn't have the energy to craft :(

Anyway, I am back this week and I've a card to share using THIS weeks sketch by our lovely hostess this month Patricia...

I had so many ideas for this sketch as it is so fun and versatile, this is what I settled on...

Since seeing this weeks challenge over at "Less is More" HERE, which is a theme of leaves and a one layer challenge week I've been itching to ink up Natures Treasures I and join in! So, I combined the challenges ;)

I used a die cut circle mask and my trusty MISTI to stamp 3 of the leaves from the set in 3 different Stampin' Up! ink colours, Pear Pizzaz, Old Olive and Lucky Limeade. The sentiment is from Pure Florals: Cosmos and I chose this sentiment as it is one of the longest sentiments I have and represents the sketch beautifully.

Anyway, be sure to check out all the Design Team inspiration HERE on the CAS Colours & Sketches blog and I hope to see you in the gallery :) Challenge End Time: 6:00 p.m. Eastern U.S. time/11:00 p.m. London U.K. time Monday, March 6, 2017
