Always bring your own sunshine

Hi everyone!
We're heading into the second half of our current Dream Factory challenge, and I would like to briefly remind you about it.

Sweet Little Things
"Anything small-sized goes"

Small animals, small objects, small card sizes, small homemade gifts, etc.

.....................................

I’d also like to remind you about the challenge on our new blog, “The Little Things”
The theme is: Easter

Please remember, we focus on small formats such as ATCs,
tags, Memorydex cards, bookmarks, etc.

I combined the two challenges and created a Memorydex card.
I cut out the bunnies with scissors; everything else was die-cut.
Arranged everything on the Memorydex card and added the sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by.

And maybe you'd like to join us for both of the challenges,

A small gift...

Hi everyone!
Time for a new challenge at the Dream Factory
Our movie for this month is:

Sweet Little Things
The French movie with the original title “Les petites victoires”
is about the small victories in life.

We say:
"Anything small-sized will do"

Small animals, small objects, small card sizes, small homemade gifts, etc.

We were recently invited to dinner at a friend's house.
As a small gift and thank you, I made this paper lamp.

It consists of many narrow strips that are glued slightly overlapping onto an open, round base.
At the top, the strips are simply laid on top of each other one by one and then twisted. It holds together on its own, but you can add a little hot glue to the opening to be on the safe side.

Place the lamp over an LED tea light and the magic happens...

For this lamp, I punched stars out of some of the strips and decorated the twisted area with die-cut leaves and a cord.
I don't want to praise myself, but the hostess was absolutely delighted! Hope you like it too :)

If you are interested, you can find detailed instructions for a larger paper lantern here.
....mine only has a diameter of about 6 cm.

Let's Be Silly

Hi everyone!
We're heading into the second half of our current Dream Factory challenge, and I would like to briefly remind you about it.

Sing

This month's theme is
“Anything Goes with Animals.”
...any kind of animal!

These days, I enjoy making ATCs. These small cards are really fun to create.

For this one, I used the silly cats and dogs from Your Next Stamp. I colored them with alcohol ink markers and cut them out with scissors. Glued them onto a fun background and added an embossed sentiment. The crown on the dog's head is made of texture paste. I colored it with alcohol ink markers, cut it out, and embellished it with a few rhinestones.

Hakuna Matata

Hi everyone!
Time for a new challenge at the Dream Factory
Our movie for this month is:

Sing
A fun movie full of animals and cool music!

This month's theme is
“Anything Goes with Animals.”

This is what I came up with!

I stenciled a sheet of paper with brown tones, punched out a square,
then backed the opening with a brushed background.
I arranged three of the animals inside the frame and then placed the foliage around them. The meerkat I placed outside the frame, next to the embossed sentiment. The animals are colored with alcohol ink markers.

All animals are from Katzelkraft – Did anyone recognize the pig?
I altered it to look like Pumbaa so it would match the meerkat and the sentiment. LOL

As luck would have it,
our little crafting group was organizing a card swap on the theme of zoo or jungle at the same time.
So I combined the two and made a total of eight cards.

It was fiddly work cutting out all the animals, sticking each tiny leaf onto the branches,
die-cutting and brushing the foliage...   ...but afterwards it was really fun putting it all together!

...hanging out with you

Hi everyone!
We're heading into the second half of our current Dream Factory challenge, and I would like to briefly remind you about it.

Love Actally

Love, Hearts, and/or Valentine's Day

The movie poster inspired me to create the pattern in the heart - luckily, I had a suitable stencil.
I punched out a large heart. From this, I punched out a smaller one. I slightly shifted the two hearts and glued them together. Stamped the cat, cut it out, and glued it onto the hearts.
I splattered black ink onto a blank card and glued the hearts and cat onto it. Punched out a very small heart from red glitter cardstock, glued it to the cat's paws, and finally stamped the sentiment.

Grand comme ça!

Hi everyone!
Time for a new challenge at the Dream Factory
Our movie for this month is:

Love Actually
It's actually a Christmas love story,
but we're using it for our first challenge of the year.

So, for the next 4 weeks,
it's all about
Love, Hearts, and/or Valentine's Day!

I'm not really a fan of Valentine's Day, but once a year I can convince myself! Haha
The background of my card is dry-embossed with small arrows and hearts -- hard to see, but it is!
I added a strip of washi tape under the frog's feet als well.
Frog and hearts are colored with alcohol ink markers and aqua markers, cut out and glued on.
The sentiment says: I Love you this much!
