Double Trouble #150 - The Crafter's Cafe "Flowers"

This is my Design Team project for Double Trouble #150 "Fancy Florals" and asking you to leave those patterned papers in their comfy little storage... skip  the patterned papers altogether, create a card using florals and share with our challenge partner at The Crafter's Cafe "Flowers".  Twisted Sister wanted us to include an insect to earn an additional chance in DTC's random draw.

Thus went to my stash of unfinished Copic Class Images which we attended quite frequently at a local scrapbook store with Instructor Jennifer Dove.  Remembered an image of a bee sitting among flowers which fit so well with this challenge... plus the colors were perfect for the ColorMyHeart Color Dare Challenge #569 "Shades of Red, Orange and Yellow) using all three colors.

My Bee coloring had been completed but only one of the flowers and one of the leaves were inked with colors not included in board; so applied the handy blender to remove as much of the color as possible and re-colored with acceptable colors in the Color Dare Board.

Since patterned papers were not allowed decided on a border of yellow cardstock and cut a die with stitched sun rays and then adhered to the card base. The shadowing around the image was Copic brush streaks using sparingly a good match of the yellow border.

Please hop on over and join us at Double Trouble and our partner for this challenge The Crafter's Cafe to check out the Design Teams inspiration.  We are looking forward to seeing the creative ways you make your floral(s) stand out without using patterned papers... hope to see you there.

Color Dare's Color Board #569 may be your desired colors too... check out their Design Team projects for inspiration also.

Have a Roaring Good Day - Mon 05/15 DTC #138 "Krafty Crafting"

Here is my Design Team card for Double Trouble Challenge #138 "Krafty Crafting" using brown paper Bags, Kraft paper, or something similar, and Twisted Sister's optional twist to include "an Animal".  This challenge we are partnering with The Crafter's Cafe "Animals".

Looking through my Copic class incomplete projects I found an adorable Whimsy "Little Lion" not yet colored. This was an extra image purchase during a Copic Class at our local Scrapbook store with Jennifer Dove... again, an easier task when you have visual instructions on the coloring; but I got through the sample of the coloring and think it turned out pretty good. I chose this image because I was planning on doing a monochromatic in Browns. The Try Stampin' on Tuesday Sketch Challenge #606 with a Optional Twist of "Dies and/or Punches" was an excellent sketch for the Little Lion.

I had so many choices of Kraft and Brown patterned papers and putting the patterns together was a little time consuming but happy with the choices... the banner being the most difficult.  The banner was made up of two Mix-In papers and Mocha cardstock.  On the striped pattern the edges were die cut using a Tailored Stitch Die spacing it so I could use one of the Zip Strips in between the scallops. Using Mocha cardstock cut another panel to place behind the stripe/zip strip.

Adhered the Little Lion to the completed Sketch with 3D thin foam tape to lift up the paws and the head rounding for dimension. Sentiment was added directed to patterned paper using Black ink and the inside of the card, bottom border was lined with the dots pattern and another scallop cut.

Please hop on over and join us at Double Trouble Challenge #133 "Pinch Proof" and check out the Design Teams inspiration, and then let us see what you create... hope to see you there. You may also want to hop on over to The Crafter's Cafe and check out their Design Team projects too.

You Cast a Spell on Me - Double Trouble #130

Here is my Design Team Card for Double Trouble Challenge #130 "Keep Us in Stitches" where Thing 1 (me) wanted to see stitching in the project and Twisted Sister wanted us to move from stitching and laughter into a world of Fantasy, wave a wand and include mythical or magicial creatures.

Looking through some of my previously colored images from Jenifer Dove's Local Copic Class in Arizona, there was  a Wizard image which was perfect for our pairing up with The Fairy & The Unicorn January Challenge. By luck there were two frames in the card kit which already had stitching. I had completed the coloring of the Wizard, but after opening up the card kit there was the sentiment scroll that still needed to be colored and assembled as a shaker... so this was completed first.

I'll usually make up my own layout of the images we color; but this card kit was so darn cute decided to put together the card exactly as provided... so I can take credit for the coloring; but the cute layout was all a part of the Jenn's card kit we had to assemble after we colored our images. Never had time to assemble in class but everything was put in the kit and worked on later at home, and in my case more than three years later...lol

Friendship Makes Life Colorful - Color Dare #498 "Shades of Green, Blue, Purple"

This is my Design Team card for ColorMyHeart Color Dare #498. The Color Dare's color palette reminded me of a paintbrush image we colored at Jennifer Dove's December 2021 Copic Boot Camp Class and all I had to do was to use shades of the three colors... how fun is that.

The rainbow stream of colors was a personal add-on with shades of green, blue and purple using Copic alcohol brush pens... this rainbow stream was not a part of the paintbrush stamp. Masked the paintbrush rainbow image, stamped on various ink blot flairs using inks of the same colors, added a sapphire border and adhered to my card base.

The sentiment was from a very old retired stampset.  Stamped on white cardstock using the same ink colors, overlapping each color, added a sapphire border and adhered with 3D thin foam tape at the base of the rainbow stream of colors.

On the inside of card, stamped various ink blot flairs at the the bottom and right-hand side.

Double Trouble Challenge #101 - "Happy Birthday" Using 3 Patterned Papers

Here is my DT card for Double Trouble Challenge #102 "Mix It Up" using at least three design papers with an optional twist to use the Try Stampin' on Tuesday Sketch #539 and optional twist "Winter Wonder". Twisted Sister had an optional twist to "include a penguin" in Celebration of National Penguin Day.  A lot of options here; but all you need to join the Double Trouble Challenge is to use at least three design papers.. how easy is that.

This card went together pretty fast because the image was already colored at Jennifer Dove's December 2021 Boot Camp and her image and card can be found here.  However, I used the TSOT Sketch for a "Winter Wonder" Birthday card.  Selected three design papers from CTMH Mix-ins and a zip strip and cut according to sketch.  The image was fussy-cut and adhered on sketch background with 3D thin foam tape for dimension.

You Deserve a You Day - Double Trouble Challenge #84

Here is my Design Team card for Double Trouble "It's a You Day", using Twisted Sister's optional twist to "include bling" and sharing with our partner Stinkin' Inkers Challenge # "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun".

Again, went through my container of unfinished Copic Class card kits and found a perfect girly-girl image... and much to my surprise all the coloring had been completed in class. Modified the image panel cut slightly and changed the design paper to strawberries instead of flowers.  Added the Nuvo drops and sentiment.

At Double Trouble Our Things 1, 2 and 3 sure bring on some wierd combinations but I like to challenge them all; however, you have the flexibility of doing just Thing 1 to create a theme "It's a You Day" girly girl project and be eligible for our random draw.

For those that really like more of a challenge may want to include Twisted Sister's optional twist and/or enter at Stinkin' Inkers "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun", our partner for this challenge, if you have met their requirement... and you will be rewarded additional chances for the random draw. Have a Magical Birthday - Double Trouble Challenge #80 "Something, Anything, Everything"

Here is my Design Team card for Double Trouble Challenge #78 "Something, Anything, Everything" using Twisted Sister's optional twist to celebrate National Crayon Day and include an image on your project that you have colored.  Again, went through my container of unfinished Copic Class card kits and found another Whimsy's wizzard images... much to my surprise it didn't even need a touchup.

The Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #414 had a window box which was perfect to set my frog on.  Pulled out my Wood Grain paper pack and selected one of the design papers to die cut the window/window box and also used as the background.  Fussy-cut my frog image and glued to the window box with froggy's foot on the edge and the other items in the box.  Made my window into a shaker with the sequins and then adhered to the background paper.  Using 3D foam tape put the window box and image at bottom of window.  The sentiment was layered with the wood grain and adhered to background with 3D thin for tape.

You Must Be Kitten - 2021 Spring/Summer Coffee Lovers Hop

Some of us from Our Little Crop Group attended many Copic Coloring Classes before the Pandemic at a local scrapbook store. The coloring packets were included in a plastic bag with all the cuts and trimmings and instructions to assemble a card.

These packets are stored in a plastic container beckening to be used... so below my card is the packet I chose for the 2021 Spring/Summer Coffee Lovers Hop.  There are times I used them just as is; however, I prefer to create my own card using some of the cuts and/or changing the sketch and/or colors.

Jennifer Dove's Copic Card Class packet changes:  Only used the plaid paper and image from the card packet.  Metal die used to cut the cup from the plaid paper and fussy-cut the bath cat image in two.  Pieced them together using tape and the bubbles and rubber ducky with 3D foam tape. My intial coloring was so much lighter so touched it up a bit for more dimension.

My background was totally different from the pieces in the packet... selected from my stash a background paper to use as wallpaper, added a die cut window with the outside view of another design paper with clouds.  Adhered the bath cat image with 3D thin foam tape in front of the window, scattered a few bubbles and sporadically added liquid glass to some of the bubbles. I was pleased with the new scene for bath cat... hope you enjoy it too.

Create Your Own Magic - Double Trouble Challenge #79 "A Magical Day"

This is my Design Team Card for Double Trouble Challenge #79 "A Magical Day" partnering with Dies R Us, using at least one steel die.  I was also able to include this in ColorMyHeart Color Dare's Challenge #435 "Green + 1 Color... I chose blue as my additional color.

Before the Pandemic I attended many of the Copic classes offered at our local scrapbook store given by Jennifer Dove. I knew the magic I wanted to create so went to my Copic cards that were not completed and chose one of the Wizard cards.  Her kits include all the pieces for her design... however I like to make it my own layout and choose only to use some of the items so that it's not the same as those attending the class.

The Wizard frame was cut using a Square Stiched Die.  I needed to complete the coloring of the frame and wizard, and then choose some patterned paper and embellishments. In CTMH Mix-In I found a perfect green plaid match for my background and layered it on black cardstock, added the stars and sentiment and done.  I have two more wizards that I need to complete so you may see them later this year.

You Put the Sunshine in my Day - Double Trouble Challenge #78 "Wearin' o' the Green"

Here is my DT for Double Trouble's "Wearin' o' the Green" Challenge and what a fun optional twist to include plaid in your project so that you can also enter your project at Use Your Stuff "Plaid".

I'm going back to my Jennifer Dove's Copic Class inventory to find an image with a lot of green and put a card together.  The kit included all the parts for my card and with some minor cutting changes my layout was very similar to the one provided.  So, this card only took me less than half an hour to create, but that doesn't include the time spent on the coloring.  Used distressing around the image and sentiment, wrapped twine around the card around the layers and completed using liquid glass to the raindrops.

At Double Trouble Our Things 1, 2 and 3 sure bring on some wierd combinations but I like to challenge them all; however, you have the flexibility of doing just Thing 1 to use green in your project and be eligible for our random draw.

Miss You - Double Trouble Challenge #65 "Something, Anything, Everything"

Here is my Design Team Card for Double Trouble Challenge #65 "Something, Anything, Everything", and including Twisted Sister's optional Twist "include a phone", using the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #383, a previous partner of Double Trouble. This is a sneak peek for one of the design papers (back and front) using the beautiful CTMH "Lovely" paperpack.

The design papers and zip strip were cut to close specification of the sketch and each layered with a thin border of Blue Belle (another sneak peak of the new colors available in September).

The adorable image was from a Copic Class attended back more than year ago which had never been colored.  It was perfect for the optional twist to "include a phone" for an extra chance at Double Trouble's random draw... and if it's not a cell phone you get another chance.

Colored the image, scanned/printed two additional copies and fussy-cut parts of the images and layered them with thin foam tape on each other for dimension.  Fussy-cut the phone base from the handset receiver and placed on prepared background with more thin foam tape for additional dimension.  Rather than cutting the phone cable from the image I simply drew a phone line from the receiver to the base.  To balance out the third window I decided to use the word bubble as my sentiment.  I was so pleased with the dimension and hope you can see it in my photos.

Dreams Live Here - Double Trouble Challenge "Dog Days of Summer"

This is my Design Team card for Double Trouble Challenge #63 "Dog Days of Summer" to include dry or heat embossing.  Twisted Sister also has an optional twist to include a dog or your favorite critter... and if you have included a "critter" you can enter your project in 2 Crafty Critter Crazies.

Doing some organization in my Craft Room I pulled out a container with many of my Copic Coloring Class stamp images that were either partially or fully colored but never completed as a card.  So I pulled this Whimsy "lazy cat" for the optional twist just needed to complete the coloring of the upper tree leaves and butterfly and assemble a card... so this made it a quick card to put together.

The paper selected already had a great sentiment on it which was perfect for lazy cat.  I used a Versamark pen to heat emboss the sentiment in princess gold, and also heat embossed a fishbowl as an embellishment for the right-hand corner of the card to balance the layout.

Please join us at Double Trouble "Dog Days of Summer" and if you want to use Twisted Sister's twist "dog or favorite critter" you can earn an extra chance at our random draw. And if you submit the same card to 2 Craftng Critter Crazies you have earned another chance at our random draw.

Please follow us on Double Trouble Challenge and receive notices of our new challenge on the 1st and 3rd Mondays of the month, and if there is a 5th Monday we run a special one week challenge like this one for our "Something, Everything, Anything", which will be coming up the end of this challenge.
