Voice of the Sea - Color Dare Challenge #506 Inspiration Photo

This is my Design Team project for ColorMyHeart Color Dare #506 "Seaside Inspiration Photo". This color challenge shouts out brush color blending and using many of the colors to create a sea scene for the CTMH Stamp of the Month "Voice of the Sea".  This was my second attempt on a sea scene.

Used many colors and just blended and blended and blended until I felt the colors were blended similar to the inspiration photo. For the wave movement white gelly roll pen was squiqqly added...  but may have gotten carried away on the waves.

Chose the bird on the tree stump and a few shells for my focal point, did some more blending on the objects using the same colors, fussy cut all, and then placed on the sea background with 3D thin foam tape.  Two of the sentiments from the stamp set were stamped with Memento black ink directly on the background.

As I was cleaning up and putting away my supplies... my first attempt on blending was a wave stencil and questioned should I trash it or stash it.

Neither was an option... it caught my imagination.  Pulled out the same stamp set and decided to create a school of fish in colorful water... three fish and stamped on sentiment, done.

However, sent a photo to my daughter and she thought I might have stamped my fish upside down... and I had.  Determined not to throw it in trash I lifted the school of fish and turned it right-side up and restamped the sentiment on a separate panel and adhered with 3D thin foam tape, done.

Nope... somehow there was a smudge in the bottom left corner... oh no, now what?  Brought out the stamps again, stamped over the smudge with sea foliage and added a second one.  It was still missing something... added one more fish to the school at the upper right-corner, done.

Nope... it needed some bubbles.  Bubbles were added using Nuvo Crystal Drops, done... YES

Hugs - Double Trouble Challenge #82 "Flowers"

Here is my Design Team card for Double Trouble Challenge #82 "Flowers" and using the Color Palette and first-time partner at Make the Cards Color Challenge #13 "Candy Coated".

Don't you love this combination of colors for a pretty floral... of course who lacks floral stamps or images.  Chose a foral stamp and die set that had not yet been used along with the stitched lattice background die, a perfect setting for my floral.  Cut an A2 size panel using Lagoon cardstock, die cut the background lattice in Mint cardstock and adhered to the Lagoon panel.

The hard part is to closely match my Copic Sketch brush pens with the "Candy Coated" color challenge and my cardstock... believe I met this challenge.  I used the thin dies to cut the floral but also did a little fussy-cutting where the florals overlap each other, adhered with thin foam tape for dimension and a little glitter pen on the flowers.

A sentiment die "Hugs" was selected and cut using both Mint and Lagoon cardstock, adhered Mint direct to lattice and layered off-set with Lagoon for dimension.

At Double Trouble Our Things 1, 2 and 3 sure bring on some wierd combinations but I like to challenge them all; however, you have the flexibility of doing just Thing 1 "Flowers" and be eligible for our random draw.

For those that really like more of a challenge may want to include Twisted Sister's optional twist and/or enter at Make The Cards Challenge, our partner for this challenge if you have met their requirement... and you will be rewarded additional chances for the random draw. Please join us for this fun challenge

Happy Bee-Day - Double Trouble Challenge #52

This is my DT card for Double Trouble Challenge #52 "Die-lirious & Punchy", using Twisted Sister's Twist "Bees/Honeycomb" and partnering with Bitten By the Bug Challenge "Spring Equinox".  Bees are here...Spring has Sprung.  Sought out one of my favorite stamp sets for the honeycombs.  Using the triple time stamping technique, cut the three panels in White Daisy cardstock, placed the three layers in my Misti and stamped a variety of the honeycombs on the corners using assorted yellow inks.  Added the yellow borders on each of the panels and glued all on my card base.

Bitten By the Bug waived their standard of having to use Cricut cuts and for this challenge they will allow you to use any cutting machine. My Bugaboo digital was printed and a couple honeycombs stamped on white cardstock and cut with my Brother Scan and Cut. Love my Scan and Cut but miscalculated the cutting edge so it cut off one of the bee's antennas which I had to glue back on. The bee was colored using Copic Sketch brushes and adhered with 3D thin foam tape for dimension, along with one of the honeycombs. The sentiment were small alphabet dies in which I used my Cuttlebug to cut a set using honey cardstock, adhered to another set using black cardstock for a shadow and then placed and adhered each letter to the card.

Bitten By the Bug is a challenge that usually requires cuts from your Cricut machine, however, we CUT a Real Die'al with them.  For this challenge they are accepting the use of hand punches, die-cutting machines, but NO fussy-cutting!  Besides using a Cricut you are free to use a Silhouette, a Brother Scan and Cut or other similar devices. In your blog post be sure to tell us what you used.

Please follow us on Double Trouble Challenge and receive notices of our new challenge on the 1st and 3rd Mondays of the month, and if there is a 5th Monday we run a special one week challenge "Something, Everything, Anything".

Cheer - Color Dare #372

This is my DT Card for ColorMyHeart Color Dare #372 "TicTacToe", using the theme at Heart2Heart Challenge "Evergreen".  Since I was using Evergreen my decision for the background paper was used because it had most of the colors in the Color Board which would give me a good start on a TicTacToe selection for both Row 1 and 2.  Aside from some time spend on the piecing of the Evergreen Trees this card was fairly quick to complete. 3D thin foam tape was used on the trees and deer for dimension.

Please visit Color Dare and see DT members' inspiration, along with other participants that have entered these challenges join us in this fun color challenge. Color My Heart Color Dare challenges are carried forward for two weeks, so please join us and also check out our previous Challenge #371 Inspiration Board.

Double Trouble Challenge #39 - Something Anything Everything

This is my DT Card for Double Trouble Challenge #39 "Something, Anything, Everything" using Twisted Sister's Optional Twist "Think Pink" in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness.

A few weeks ago I had attended a crop at one of our local paper crafting stores and my friend and September Guest Designer at Double Trouble Challenge, Jean Chaney, shared this parchment crafting technique with me which included embossing, coloring and perforating on parchment or vellum paper creating depth and lace with just a few tools. It's a time-consuming process, but pleased with result...so have purchased the few tools, and $45 later, anticipate creating another project.  I was able to combine with one of our previous partners Heart2Heart "Mixed Fonts"
