My last aquisition for my riboon and lace box tower
foi uma caixa de Mon Cheri para guardar uma fitas que ainda vagueavam pela mesa. Aquele vermelho brilhante destoava com as outras, mas ainda não tinha encontrada a inspiração para a sua transformação!
was a Mon Cheri box to keep some ribbons that still wandered on my table. That bright red stuck out like a sore thumb among the other boxes, but I still hadn't found the inspiration for its upcycling!
Foi então que há dias encontrei este tutorial no Graphics Fairy que transformavam caixas de bombons:
Then some days ago I found this tutorial on Graphics Fairy for upcycling candy boxes:
Ora aí estava a inspiração que precisava! Munida de esponjas e tinta acrílica branca, lá fui esponjando a caixa. Podia ter usado um pincel, mas a esponja dá uma melhor cobertura além de conferir textura. Usei um secador de cabelo para acelerar o processo de secagem.
So there was the inspiration I needed! Supplied with sponges and white acrylic paint, I started sponging the box. I could have used a paintbrush, but the sponge gives a better coverage while also confering texture. I used a hair dryer to accelerate the drying process.
Com uma outra esponja passei pigmento acastanhado nas bordas da caixa. Algum de vermelho de baixo tingiu suavemente a tinta branca, ficando um efeito interessante.
With another sponge I dabbed brown pigment on the edges of the box. Some of the red below softly tinted the white paint, giving it an interesting effect.
Imprimi os rótulos do tutorial e recortei um deles:
I printed the labels on the tutorial and cut one of them out:
Colei o rótulo com cola de decoupage. Quando secou, passei a esponja com o pigmento acastanhado nas bordas do rótulo.
I glued the label on with decoupage glue. When it was dried, I dabbed the sponge with brown pigment around the edges of the label.
Para finalizar colei uma tira de renda à volta da tampa com cola branca.
To finalize, I glue a trim of lace around the lid of the box with white glue.
E violá, a caixa vermelha de Mon Cheri ficou transformada e já não destoa na torre das caixas :D
And voilá, the red Mon Cheri box is now upcycled and does not stick out anymore among the tower of boxes :D
Foi super divertido!
