Jolly the G...Jiraffe!

We have a new grandson in the family!  Cole Andrew was born February 15 and he's a perfect little package.  I bought this TeddyBo digi a long time ago, waiting for a special occasion and this is it!
The card is to attach to his baby gift, which is a new stroller.  The image is TeddyBoBea_065, Jolly the G..Jiraffe.

The papers are from First Edition's Up, Up and Away collection and the tiny sentiment is from PaperTrey Ink's Mixed Messages set.  The ribbon is from one of Really Reasonable Ribbon's monthly clubpackets (love that ribbon!).  The flowers are from my stash and the postage stamp is Inkadinkado #96740.  It's one of my favourites and I think it was an Ebay purchase a long time ago.  I also tried a couple of new things... usually I sponge/rub my shading colours in but this time I thought I would do the 'dot' thing - I admire this on other people's cards but am not so sure if I'm crazy about it on mine.  Then I found this fabulous product made by Ranger and it's called Embossing Tinsel.  Just the name of it caught my fancy but it's very cool stuff to use... where you put it on thicker, it melts in like embossing powder but still has a lot of texture but what I really like is the little bits of it scattered around the edges.  Love the texture of that stuff!  And lastly, nothing is ever complete without a little sparkle so I added Diamond Dust Stickles on the hat.

Teddy Bo Cat

It's a new month so time for another sketch and challenge at A Die for a Sketch.  The only rules for entering the Challenge #3 is to follow the sketch and use a minimum of one die cut on your project.  Easy, huh?  Here's a pic of the sketch:
This is the first time ever I've used a Teddy Bo image and this one is called fairyd_tb_cat.  I love that silly look on his face... it's like 'whaaat'?  I used Copics to colour him and although he looks very orange in the picture, it's not really... his tummy, ears and footpads are pinkish while the rest of him is more orange/yellow so it must be the lighting.
The dies I used is Quickutz for the circles and then I got a new Memory Box die named Cherry Blossom which I purchased from Simon Says Stamp and I really like it!  It has a little tab between two petals that you pull together which gives the flower dimension without doing any rolling or folding.  The bow is from my stash and so are the pearls.  The paper is Basic Grey's Plumeria.  I coloured the image, then rubbed in some of Tim Holtz's Tumbled Glass distress ink for the shading and then dotted with a glue pen and added Stampin Up's Dazzling Diamonds Glitter.  Copic colours I used are:  Cat - E99, E97, E95, E93; Tummy and paw pads - R24, R22, R20; Scarf - V17, V15, V12.
Be sure to check out A Die for a Sketch and see what the rest of my teamies have created for you to check out.
