Covered in Wax - altered books (and Creativeworld invitation!)

Hi there my creative souls!
I've just got home from Phoenix show - Creativation - and oh boy, this was a ride! We've started early with classes and Art Venture to finally set up our new booth on Friday and meet our lovely visitors on Saturday morning... this and a lot more you can see on our Instagram accounts: mine, Prima and Prima- Mixedmedia - check us out!

Today I'm getting ready for the next show - Creativeworld in Frankfurt, so those of you who are coming - please visit me there! Here you can see my demo schedule - visit us at Notions Marketing booth!

And as a treat, I've got 2 samples I've created for this show using mostly 1 product - my new Art Alchemy Waxes. They are simply amazing and luscious: sparkly, metallic and iridescent, even with antiquing, brown undertone - all that packed in a cute, metal tin similar to lip balm... oh wait, did I mention they smell nice too? You have to check it out!

Her is the combination of Art Basics Heavy Black Gesso over texture made with stencil and Modeling Paste - and with a pretty modest (!) composition with just a bit Art Pebbles and Mechanicals. Can you see these lovely colours?
As you can see Waxes are able to create beautiful, soft layers of colour revealing the beauty of the texture in the same time! And when applied with fingers, they are just perfect for highlights - it is so simple! You want to learn more? Check my tutorial videos here!

I have to admit I just love those cold, deep ocean-inspired colours. A touch of glass glitter makes the project special too!

I couldn't resist and I had to add some seashells I collected this Summer during my short vacation in Ireland. As always, Art Basics Heavy Body Gel worked miracles... all my embellishments and findings stay safely on the book cover!
I hope you feel inspired - and you will keep watching me and my travels online. All the new products will be shipping any moment now, so please keep your eyes opened!
Expect some more Facebook Live videos from Creativeworld too - I'll do my best to share as much as possible!

See you soon - keep your fingers crossed for me, please!
huge hugs!

I know that for most of us it is a very busy time - we are getting ready to meet our family and friends, make the Christmas food and just getting the whole festive mood on... but I'd like to take this minute to send you our best wishes and say huge THANK YOU to you all!

First of all - thank you for being here, visiting the blog, FB page, social media in general - you make this place full of life and give us all purpose of creating, inspiring, finding new ideas. I'm so proud and happy to see this place grow, fill with beautiful projects and be the source than many people go to, come back on the regular basis - this is what we were hoping for changing my personal blog into Finnabair website with tutorials, ideas and product information. It's hard to express how much I appreciate your support, presence, the constant flow of love I can feel coming our way from you - this is just priceless for me and I have to admit this is the best fuel to make me going!

I'd like to send huge thanks to a group of very special people who I'm sure you know very good already - my Creative Team Members, from present and past terms who are the most supportive, most talented and inspiring creative souls. I'm truly blessed to be able to work with them and I'm absolutely sure we wouldn't be where we are now if my Team wasn't on board!
This year we have our wonderful Brand Ambassadors joining us too - and I'm so grateful they decided to jump on my idea of making the Finnabair Family bigger. I'm sure you enjoy the classes, tutorials and everyday inspiration they are providing every day.
Thank you so much to you all!

We would like to wish you all a blessed Holiday time - quiet, filled with all that you need. We wish you love and peace, tonnes of positive energy, courage to create whatever your heart will tell you and great people around you who will give you support when you need it the most. I hope you will find time to play, to enjoy whatever you like to do - taking time for yourself is so important!

Here you've got some peeks at the decoration we've made this year - how do you like my rose-decorated Christmas Tree? I had a great time working on this design...

Angel Wings - playing with new product!

Good to see you here again.
I'm back today with one of my CHA projects - some of you could see it visiting Prima booth or in one of the videos which were taken during the show. I had a great time creating it - can you imagine the joy of unpacking your very own designs, touching the packaging, ripping it apart and having your pieces of joy in your hands? (insert deep sigh here...)

This mixed-media collage on the wooden panel can be easily translated to a scrapbook page too - my good advice your be to prime the paper with layer of gesso first and using thicker background - the whole composition is rather heavy!

There are TONS of new product included - you can see some of the new Mechanicals - hearts, screw heads and cogs, there is well hidden new Art Ingredient: Texture Powder which I used to create this beautiful, mint tone texture paste... and there is more!

All the colour here except the tea splatters which I've made with my home made tea stain are in fact my brand new Art Alchemy products - Pixie Dust shimmering sprays and Opal Magic acrylic paint. You can tell, I am really addicted to mica powder and shimmer - I can't imagine a single project without a bit of shine! Just look at this beautiful, delicate opalescent finish on the little stones and Sandra Evertson's resin wing (I took it out from one of Relics and Artifacts packs!).

Most of the new products - except the Pixie Dust sprays will be available in your local shops from the end of January (USA) and mid-February (other countries).
We will stock them all in our Mixed Media Place Store of course, but make sure you will check with your local retailer - maybe they need a small hint... or they ordered it already?

For now - here are the links to some products I've used - available in Mixed Media Place:

Make sure you will check this space on Friday - brand new tutorial is coming and... you know what?
Check my Social Media spaces: FB page, Instagram and Finnabair and Friends Open Studio group for some giveaways which are coming soon ;)

sending best wishes

New Finnabair Products: Mechanicals and more...

Hi, everyone!
Let me tell you how absolutely thrilled I am to finally be able to reveal some more of my new products!
I hope you've seen the post about my Art Alchemy paints and texture brushes.
Today it's time for a new series of my beloved Mechanicals. Ta-daaam! :)

As much as I'm fond of my Mechanicals line, I thought it was time to spice things up a little. ;)
I added some exciting new elements - all inspired by various shapes and sizes of gears and rotary wheels.

To add some lighteness to my new Mechanicals, I came up with some pretty metal butterflies and added stars, hearts, screws and knobs.
Some of the new Mechanicals embellishments also got a brand new rusted finish. I hope you'll like it!

But that's not all... There are also Art Pebbles. Are you curious? :) Just see for yourselves!

But that's not all, folks!
How about some Art Stones? They are a special new product to enhance all kinds of projects. They are really light, come in different sizes and are just perfect to create mixed media textures.
You will see in the video below how to use them and I hope you will feel inspired to adopt this new art baby of mine. ;)

I simply can't wait to hear from you what you think about my new products!
Do you have your favorite yet?
Keep an eye on Prima blog as there are more sneak peeks of my new line coming soon!

Art Alchemy and Texture Brushes Sneak Peek - new products coming!

Hi again my dear friends, yes THIS time of the year is coming!
After long months of working in secret, testing and playing with options - new products are (almost) here! I hope you can imagine how excited I am and I literally can't wait to see you all using my new babies...
There is a lot going on in the backstage now including my recovery from long travels, working on CHA projects, moving my studio and my life, so maybe for now I will just leave you here with them, so you can have a first quick look?

First of all - I'm very proud and happy to introduce you to the new group of my products - Art Alchemy which will include beautiful Metallique Acrylic Paints and Opal Magic Acrylic Paints: pure colourful shine ready to apply to any of your mixed-media projects. These highly pigmented, smooth, fully metallic colours will steal your hearts!

By the way... do you know that Opal Magic Paints are two-tonned? How cool and inspiring is that... just imagine all these iridescent, changing colour effects you can apply to your artworks... I couldn't be any more excited!!!

What would be the paint without proper brushes?
But wait - why not making the brushes even better, adding extra kick to them and create ultimate combo that will not only give you great quality synthetic brush you know and love but also a silicone palette knife and texture tool to add your favourite textures to your mixed media projects? Why not having them in one - saving time on looking for those tools lost somewhere on your desk, saving storage space (especially when travelling) and  (of course) saving money...
I hope you will love them as much as I do! 2 different sets available...

Just check them out!

I hope these beauties gave you some appetite for more, as of course there is A LOT more coming!
I'll be back with more sneak peeks very soon, so stay tuned!!!

Sending you warmest hugs from windy and rainy Ireland

Where to start? More Videos and Giveaway Winner :)

Hi there people, it's me again!
I hope you have a great creative weekend - myself I'm struggling to find motivation to do something more creative than just editing and putting things from one lace to another - I guess you have to blame wonderful moody weather outside! But I can feel there's anew project coming... it's just around the corner or maybe a few good cups of tea away! :)

First of all - thank you for this amazing response to my Giveaway. We've reached almost 400 comments which is a huge number. Wow. Thank you for visiting my blog and taking time to participate! You are so loved!
Reading your comments I've noticed that idea of Art Basics and Art Ingredients working together is new to many of you - which is great, as you will have a lot of fun playing, experimenting and discovering the possibilities just like me :) There were also the questions from you - mostly: where to start? Here I can help!

I think the best way will be to take a cup of tea, coffee or any other during you prefer and have a peek into my Art Files: Tutorial Videos section of the blog. I've updated it today for you adding all the new demos and techniques which were taped in the last couple of months. I'ts all waiting for you!

My second suggestion will be following our great Creative Team blog posts with tutorials - posted every Monday and Friday here and follow my Art Recipe Wednesday - my own projects with product info, some visual inspiration and tips and step-by-step information for anyone to try! There is also our You Tube Channel if you want to stay tuned and find our CT Videos with ease. Check it out!

My next tip will be following Prima You Tube Channel - my products are being used by many of the artists showing their tutorials during Live with Prima shows - why not subscribing and following the on FB too?

I hope my suggestions will be helpful and you will dig a bit in the sources to get some information and inspiration out of them!

To give you a good start I've got 2 brand new videos - demos I've made for Scrapbook Expo during Winter CHA 2015 featuring my new Art Ingredients of course: Mica Powders and Micro Beads!

And finally - time to announce our Super Lucky Giveaway Winner!

Huge congrats to Lynn Stevens from Trash to Treasure Art blog!
Lynn, please contact me on my email please! We'll be happy to send you the prize! Woo hoo!

Keep your eyes open guys, something is telling me there will be more prizes to win very soon...
