Journey Altered Shaker Hoop by Lanette Erickson

Today I’m sharing an altered hoop with a fun shaker twist! For the base of this project, I used Finnabair’s Time Traveler’s Decoupage Fiber Paper—the vintage tones and elements are absolutely perfect for creating a steampunk-inspired background.

I then built a dimensional cluster using a mix of chipboard, metal embellishments, and resin pieces, layering them to create lots of mechanical detail. To bring everything together and add that beautifully aged look, I used plenty of Finnabair Rust Pastes for rich texture and an authentic rusty finish.

If you’d like to see how this project came together step by step, be sure to check out my full process video on the Finnabair YouTube channel.

Thank you so much for stopping by today! I hope this project inspires you—even in a small way—to carve out some creative time and play in your art space.

Until next time,

Hugs & FUN creating!

Lanette

Dragonfly by Lori Woods

Hello creative friends! The detailing on Finnabair’s new moulds is exceptional- when I saw the new Machine Dragonlies mould I knew I wanted the mould to be the star of the show.

I decided to keep the background in black and white and used one my favourite texture pastes, Graphite, with a new Decadent Walls stencil to create this. I added some colour with red jewel paste on chipboard and then used a completely contrasting colour of teal for the dragonfly so it really popped. You can see all the beautiful veining on the wings of the dragonfly and it didn’t take much to make it an eyecatching piece!

Wild Spirit– Mixed Media Canvas by Margarita Shkludova

Hello, creative friends! Margarita Shkludova here.

Today I want to share with you a new canvas inspired by Native American culture — their deep love for nature, vibrant adornments, and the strength to live fully despite life’s challenges.

This piece carries a powerful, almost tribal energy. Rich colours, feathers, and bold textures come together to create a sense of connection with the earth and the spirit world. To build the background, I used decorative chipboard by Finnabair, which added incredible depth and texture. Layered with paints and matte waxes, the chipboard turned into a striking foundation that enhances the whole story of the canvas.

The mood here is both wild and contemplative — a reminder of resilience, beauty, and harmony with nature. It feels like a visual song of freedom, courage, and belonging.

I invite you to watch the video tutorial on creating this canvas. Enjoy watching!

Let your art speak with spirit.

See you soon!
