West of Farewell Spit to Hawera: Long period southwest swell 3 metres rising to 3 metres. Northerly swell 2 metres developing. Elsewhere: Westerly swell rising to 2 metres. Poor visibility in rain, with possible squally thunderstorms.

Monday: Northeast 15 knots, rising to southeast 30 knots in the morning, then to 40 knots in the afternoon. Sea becoming very rough. Moderate westerly swell dying out.
Tuesday: Southeast 40 knots, becoming southerly 30 knots but 40 knots east of Farewell Spit to Hawera late. Sea very rough.
