Saw this at our - how my T and I always say ALDIschönenSachen ("all the nice things" ALDI is pronounced like "all die" (LOL - no one dies here!! "die" is "the" in German! - "all the", it´s pronounced like "dee")).
Can someone explain the logic to me?
I always thought eggs came from chicken? And that name (MooMoo) in German is often used by prude parents for explaining girls have a vagina.

And in a minute I´ll have pickled eggs (well, one - and a carrot), hmmmm. Made the eggs two days ago, hope they are ready!
Yesterday - and maybe today!!! - it was warm enough for enjoying books (plural, LOL) on the balcony!

It comes with stories, comparing food to Ferrari-cars and all! I sure giggled a bit reading this.
It´s not only a cook-book, it´s about Italy, Tuscany, mainly, where we had one of the best holidays, too!
You learn a lot first-hand of Italian culture, the people. Well, it´s Jamie, after all, right?
And no. I´m not paid saying this. He´s just a brilliant, fun writer and chef.
And I enjoy this book immensly.
The other is on Einstein and CO, rather heavy brain-food, LOL - and yes, I read such stuff "for fun".
You understand how their brains work, I can´t get "dumber" going through this, right.
Please wish me luck - weather-wise. The books are waiting!
And the sport, taxes. And bank-stuff, and an application. Can´t believe I did all this also driving 1 1/2 hours to/fro work plus working 8 hours!
Frankly... I want to retire for good...

I certainly don't understand how their brains work, I wish I did, I wish I was smarter from the beginning, no good wishing for it now, what would I do with a brain suddenly smarter at my age? anyway, I'm smart enough to do the puzzles in the daily newspaper, that's good enough and my math is good enough that my budget always works out right.

Those cows are cute, but do people really use egg cups? I guess some people do, but not me. I'm not that fussy. But if you like cows I see no issue putting eggs in them. And I haven't seen that Jamie Oliver book, but I'm with you about Tuscany. Hope you're having a great day! hugs-Erika

Löwenbäcker great Henry, and now you have me yearning for German cakes and bread. My favourite was the Kartoffelbrot (potato bread) and Zuckerkuchen. We bought them at the local Plant marked, where there was a cafe cum bakery. Or at the Back-factory - do they still exist, I wonder. Now I stop before I go eating the German cookbook ;)

Oooo, I love those egg cups, too. David bought two for himself, as I rarely eat eggs. His cups are white, but they do the job. Love blue and white, my favorite color combination. Enjoy your books.
I have egg cups but have never used them. Those ones you got are lovely.

As someone who took a year of German in high school and remember NONE of uit, I knew the DIE was dee, not dye. LOVE those new to you egg cups. You are SO lucky to find things on the street.

I've never tried pickled eggs but I will see if we can get them here, I'm sure we had those china bowls when I was growing up.

Amy, pickled eggs I´ve never seen in a store.
I use this (Ingo´s) recipe:
cook 10 eggs for say... depending on the size 6 1/2-7 minutes, so they´re still a bit soft.
Take about 45g salt, 2 tbsp mustard seeds, 1 tbsp pepper-corn, 2 bay leafs and... just for good looking black tea, say 2 tbsp, put that in enough water to later cover the eggs (that you let cool down, otherwise they get hard!).
Cook the mix for 5 minutes, let it cool.
Take a spoon and crack the eggshells, but leave them on, then put the eggs into the cooled water-mix.
After 2 days give it a first taste, and when tasty replace most of the mix with plain, cold water, otherwise the taste gets too strong.
I think it´s tasty and eggs are very healthy. A mini-bit of work, but eggs for 10 days :-)
For me, as Ingo somehow doesn´t like eggs anymore.. Men, huh..
I really like the egg set. You should have taken all 4. Also pickled eggs are just NOT my thing.
