T This (Mostly) Summer´s Week

With this yummy  drink I join Elizabeth´s T - spot the two Henries 🦁?

The journal:

Monday: Have the day off. From Summer we went to Autumn, I´m knackered...

Tuesday: I look like a boxer, who has lost, I am not talking about dogs. A darn mossie got me not even 1 cm from my eye - all swollen and it itches! And I don´t dare to use tea tree oil so close....
Cleaned the whole condo - we have a clean, free kitchen again! And my back hurts!

Ingo booked Perth.

Means I need to go the hard way with the certificate. Oral exam as pilot-project end of November instead of mid-February the safer way.
I am a very shy, introvert person. PRESSURE. DOUBTS. WHAT DID I DO?!

Wednesday: Webinar on digital images - theory and practice. Wonder how the dude breathes, he talks and talks, so fast I am breathless and my eyes keep falling shut.

Perth is really booked. See here.

Thursday: 05:00 a.m. - 26C!!!! 79F, YAY!!!!!! And I have a Webinar, inside, buhuuuu.
Also I can only watch as my graphics processor is too weak for Photoshop.
Getting private stuff done whilst 3 of 14 do the training.

Heaviest rain, Ingo could only drive walking pace. Me at home: Heaven! Later sun is out, went to the post office. Light summer-rain in sun - bliss!

So SAD. Ended "Once Upon A Time". Surprise: Robin Hood is female, her Dad is Captain Hook and says yes to her asking if she may marry Alice.
Luckily here in Germany ss-marriage is no problem, nice or sad to see it "promoted" in fairy tales?
Thank you, River, for introducing me to this series! "With hope"  - that´s how it ended with.

Friday: Another knife-attack, in Hamburg this time, one man dead, Syrian "refugees", "family honor"....kept stabbing, that man. I should skip the news, really...
19C/66F, not rising.. Summer???
fK popped very spontaneous by for a cuppa, nice. At least someone uses the "Thomas"-cuppa, it´s her Brother´s name.
She showed me all her boogies and the train being build, super-interesting. The electric is partially under the ceiling!!!
Consequently I finished studying at 05:00 p.m. (coincidence). Part 1 of Chunk 17 finished, test including. Phew. Knackered.

Weekend: Saturday: Read1 1/2 books on the balcony.

Started Deadwood. Like being back at ALSTOM, the f-word falls often. Will never understand the run after gold... But kinda ... I´ll switch and start "HAVEN".
Attended another "Webinar": "The Star Trek physics." - see next Sunday.

Sunday:More reading on the balcony and a BBQ - SUMMER 🌞

Week-munchy:

The series
"Things that are misrepresented in films

T. rex only saw moving things

According to a 2006 study, the prehistoric predator's visual acuity may have been 13 times better than that of humans. This means that "Jurassic Park" (1993) was completely wrong on this point."

And... can you believe it?

From Light Parcours Braunschweig:
"We rise by lifting others - Freedom doesn´t rule"
A good motto for the month, huh, at least the first part.

Henry 🦁 you saw in first pic.

T STands For Clear Desk

With this yummy drink I join Elizabeth´s T!
For real I went in once, saw the prices, turned and left. Is there gold in their coffee?
(The?) two Starbucks-stores in town have closed.
But this was yummy! 🥰

The journal:

Monday: Good news: I am not dumb!!! The whole weekend I thought I was, but Admin T said it was Telekom´s fault my work-smartphone did not work!
So, went again and got a new one and this time we installed everything together.
Met 4 colleagues for real, and boy, some act totally different from teams in real life.
Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde...
Also met one of the bosses.
80 minutes brisk walking counts as sport. (Payed sport!!!)

Tuesday: Fun with Admin T. Got loads of work done, but... Tired, soooo tired. Is it this dark, grey weather?
Managed to force myself to 4 sessions of training in hopes I´ll feel better the next day.

I do it like this now (in case you need inspiration):
Left monitor: picture-slideshow - of a holiday, food or such.
Right monitor: left side: TV-program, right side the sports-program. If TV gets interesting I interrupt.

Fully awake after sport, Supernatural, bed.
Same with you? Come bedtime... fully awake, I hate this!

Wednesday: Fun with Admin T, work moderate for both of us hence...
Nice teams-chat with K, too.
Still made good progress at work.
4 sessions of sport.
08:09 p.m. door-bell. Thought, GACK! Mistaken as LIGHT again!
Went anyways.
Main-door opened, person put on light, stepped up to me, showed his ID and said he´s the bailiff - WHAT???? -  if I know a Mr. M and where he lives...
What crap working hours does this man have? And what a shit#y job, too.

Thursday: Work was exhausting and frustrating, but we´ll find ways.
Teams-chat with K on studies on diverse thinking.

Lunch: Threw quickly some on-the hand-stuff together, like a "frittata", flipped with the €2 plastic-plate > three meals, old stuff used up yummily.
Later  was SO tired.
Made myself to do training > felt refreshed. Thank you, stubborn brain, it did me very good!

Friday: ...03:00 a.m., church-bells ringing, someone yelling outside... repeating sleepy-head:  "There was a clown-beating?!!!" - "oh, no, not again..." - "... Town meeting!!"
That´s how my weekend started after work (with Gilmore Girls).
What a day. I needed one-on-one help with the phone, LOL, with cam on! I think Admin T has fun also! ;-) Yes. You can say I have my private Admin!
Nice chat with K and found a great tutorial. Same ole, though, I see everything in English just to find a newer surface and in German.
Lunch: quickly threw a Brussel´s Sprouts-soup together with the rests, three more meals!

Hence... lunch-pic:

Ingo does not like it... more for myself?

Weekend: Saturday: We want to make Soljanka. Grocery-store REWE has just crappy letscho, so I went to EDEKA. Huuuuge store, where to find letscho? Finally asked. The young girl looked like a cow in lightning (German saying?), "What is letscho???" - showed me to another staff. As young as her, no idea either. He gave me his cell and asked me to write it down, boy, really?! So, now we had a pic.... long story short, after some search dude #3 finally found it.
Recipe on on Thursday - was  YUM!

Sunday: Met W. He came rolling in by push-bike! And easily made it up the three flights of stairs. I hope I´ll be as fit at 85! He told me to tell Ingo to clear the kitchen table. Ingo did - finally, yippee! (It´s my Grandma´s).
Other a quiet day.

You see...
My Mom was a messie, maybe due to growing up in WW II, fleeing to Germany (from "the Russians" btw) etc, etc...
Our home looked so bad, Bro never invited friends over in later years (when we were little Mom did her best, but let go later).
Ingo is chaotic. He knows exactly where what is, but the chaos makes me sick.
He can have chaos in his work-room, but I WANT..I NEED kitchen and hall clear.
When you feel ashamed to let neighbors in... that´s no good, is it.
We finally have a start in eliminating the chaos.. we have a lift-off!!!

Henry 🦁

To a happy T-day!
And yes. We have a telly in the kitchen.
I grew up like that. I was born early 1970´s - we had a TV at the dining table.

Be(e) Happy - Carrots, Anyone?

I got this little Orang Utan-peeler from a Perth friend when we moved into our condo 2011.
And with him I join Eileen´s Staturday Critters. He still peels carrots for Ingo for every work day (I help a bit).
Obviously in Australia it is tradition to send a welcome-pressie. She also sent a dish-brush I need yet to sketch!

After 12 years our doormat has had it.
And yesterday Ingo came home with this!!!!

Love that the bees are different-sized!
I said, I want them to stay in front of the kitchen-door as they make me happy every time I enter.
Ingo agreed, we´re off soon to buy another for the condo-door - have the best man ever 🥰
Also off to the market to buy local honey from maybe Oker-bees 🐝
And in case of ear-worm, here goes:

With this to a for us sadly long but hopefully happy weekend!
Why sadly? Tuesday is German Unitiy Day and hence I am forced to take Monday off as bridge day. We "traded" that for a public holiday in June! 😒
End of October there is another.

Not good when you have to take the days between Christmas and News Years off as well and start your six-weeks holiday end of January!
And hence atm as I work internal I am not allowed to work overtime.

So many forced days of holiday in the shitty half of the year.

Henry 🦁...

Yes, Baby Henry, go play 😘

Addendum: Ingo came home from grocery/market-shopping with this (I had a mean cramp and could not join):

"This is how Braunschweig, the Lion-City, tastes like".
In case you do not know why we are the Lion-City, look here 🦁

Sun, We Love You, But...

... we have to cover us  - 1995 I a couple of very short times went from the car to the grocery without sunscreen > sun-allergy. The Australian sun is EXTREMELY strong.
Sign to come next Wednesday...

Anyhows,  I could not handle our huge, heavy sun-brolly and always had to wait for Ingo to come home to put it up for me.
I start 06:00 am and hence are done by 02:30, Ingo is home 03:30 earliest...
So Ingo got these!

When by myself I take the beige one - see the different form? It´s streched in the length, so I am safely in the shadow.

Ingo sure is a wizard. He even managed to keep the old construction:

And what did he do next?

I was thinking about giving this pic to bertiebo as she collects faces, but this one looks too sad...

The potatoes luckily were not done yet, cause I wanted to eat them last as...

Hmmm....

SO YUMMY. Well, not as yummy as the ones we simply threw into the wood fire in "Straya", but close.

No one can tell me a gas-grill is the same as a coal one or a wood-fire.
I know all three and one loses BIG.

Henry 🦁

Yes, Henry, super-yummy. Cheese makes EVERYTHING better!

Emil Retires

IKEA named this kid´s chair "Emil", and I never knew it was a kid´s chair.
Poor fella took my weight all those years until Ingo got mad cause I said all the time, "my back hurts".

So yesterday....  we checked out chairs and bought and built this one:

I do know Ingo is right. But Emil... he was with me through all those years, first at my private PCs then at my work PCs, Siemens, Alstom...

Ingo had to adjust this one for small people.
I bet Emil laughed.

Well, reckon we´ll get along, huh - this one, in German a male, shows me when work day is done!

"Granpa...?

He´s showing off the tomatoes Ingo bought - local - "Regional", of course!

And also...

No, Emil. Ingo put the ladder away and needs to change a bulb.
See..

Yes. No more kiddy-weight, now you have to take a man!

So much for retirement! 🥰

Henry 🦁

We´ll live side by side, promised.
