T This Productive Week

I still have to check all movies I took, but some Saturday soon I hope to have "my" Magpie on!
I had pukka peppermint & licorice tea from Madeley in it.
And that´s my ticket for Elizabeth´s T.  Here are some fun facts (also... that Aussie/UK-accent - oh, do I miss that!):

The journal:

MondayIt´s cold. After the Magpie-tea it was Rexi´s turn.... Spring?
Sent a pic of the cuppa - fK: "What do you mean with Magpie - the program?"
It gets scarier - her "wife"/girlfriend just started with a program named like that!

Tuesday: TV-morning-news: Australia and EU made a deal in... Can-ber-ra. OUTCH!
Yes. not Sydney ;-) The Capital, Canberra...
I remember 1995 when a man asked where we head to next - I said that and he grumbled very loud, "that´s CANBRA!!!!" Warwick is Warrick and Cockburn... Coburn. In case count the stops on Transperth online first!

WednesdayThe gas boiler-man was here on.the.dot (German, eh) and kept whistling and singing on the job! I said the thing sometimes makes noises - "well, means 'she' is at least still alive" - so great when you love your job! Offered a drink, nah he just had and sent him off him with a fiver (€).
The thing making the noise? A Perth-hanger.
fK called. Nice chat. I.am.not.lonely.
I´m done editing all my Perth-photos. Now next I´ll have a look at Ingo´s. With movies I have a funny number: 1.234!
Not so funny: Feel sick.

ThursdayThe chimney sweep was here.
Checked extra close as I said, only yesterday the boiler got checked
Reported all is OK. Who thought of that.
Wow, am I glad we´re home. Cyclone Narell heads towards Exmouth and might turn into a class 5, that is the highest category with winds up to 200 km/h or more.
I remember the ranger and his dog there...
Up north in Karratha caravan parks get evacuated. For Denham predicted category 3. She might hit Perth, "only" with flood risk. All events get relocated, postponed or cancelled. Scary... Other a lazy, sick day.

Friday: Bro called :-)
1C / 33F. Was grocery shopping (on foot) - for over an hour my feet and legs were still cold. Spring??? Sitting with three layers on - inside and am still cold.
Ingo gave me a "new" DVD-player he "found" at work, so I can watch again. Got back to "HAVEN".
Still sick, asked Ingo for help. Got tablets, plums and ... flowers! The latter as in:

Hihi, note the brolly in the postcard to the left? It says "Schietwetter", a slack saying for bad weather, coming from "shit"...

Because...

My Dad was an optometrist and hence named me "Iris", Mom thought it´s about the flower!
So I had it combined.  Ingo was on my Mom´s side that day!
(mM: "Be glad your Dad was no heart-surgeon, your name´d be 'Aorta'...")
But mainly I got the flowers because...

All things crooked end up here - they need a home, too, right? And Gerbera are one of my favs!

Weekend: Saturday: Ingo´s Dad called, I peek in, Ingo sleeps. FIL: "It is 4p.m. - who sleeps at this time?!" LOL. Finished the book "Braunschweig in the Middle Ages".
Forgot to take the pedometer but, after having been sick did so many chores and groceries, that was more than 10 000 steps - felt good! (Teddy on the laundry is fine!)

Sunday: Löwenzahn, Die Maus and the Fairy Tale - a day of rest.
We´re back to SUMMER-time!

Munchy:

To another productive week (and maybe Spring!) - have a happy T-Day.

T STands For... Good-Bye - Thank You All

My ticket to Elizabeth´s T - the beer was "to die for" - the plant lives on it ;-).
Can´t believe we leave tomorrow... No more skirt (same since 2013) and T-shirts, thick clothes, freezing and stress.

The journal:

Monday: I call him "the idiot". New neighbor. Has a blower and every day endlessly and loudly blows "away" the leaves around his cabin. Dude. They come back.
No one complains so I keep my mouth shut, also he is taller than me. And much dumber.
Went to Freo to meet up with Sami - mural-galore to come, be sure!!! We even met one of the artists!!!
Prison is off. The hostel wanted to charge us $84+ pP and even said, you have time till 2p,m. to accept. "Cheapest hostel in Freo" - signed from Sydney. We speak of a room shared with 6 other people. No, thank you.

Tuesday: To explain the PJs: The cabins have no insulation so at night/morning it really is cold! Once the heat is on, the heat is on :-) As is the aircon. Haha, that rhymes...
Laundry day and  other a lazy day. Got another clock and some gems at Thingz. Took down two Jamie Oliver books at Big W as I would have to carry them! Available AND cheap! Argh.

Wednesday: Grace and P picked us up and we had yummy food and drink and laughter and chatting at and with Sami and J. Her home grown olives.... to die for! There was salad, lasagna and then, oh my... ice-cream.... "buhuuuu" ;-) I had the smallest bit but when that sweet tooth goes into hibernation...
So, P let us out in Perth CBD and we had beer. Much better! Ingo bought two: Ties. Don´t ask me.
When home... the cabin smelled of shit, sorry cannot say it otherwise, it was terrible!
You see, they are from the 1960´s...
Night: Rain and thunder! I sadly slept through that... video later by Ingo.

Thursday: Must´ve been the air-pressure, the smell was gone and even better!!!!
Grabbed the "laptop" and went in PJ´s outside, Elmo proudly holding his heart which says "SMOOSH" - oh, come on. You´re never too old for Elmo-PJ´s!!!
And the show went on - films to come: Heavy rain, thunder, lightning, I was in heaven - no one else outside! But the birds and me.
See, it´s summer here and rain so unlikely it was a huge, huge pressie!
(And, as I type I hear the neighbors ARE home, TV is running, they could come outside and enjoy!)
More rain, oh and a Ghala. Life is just wonderful!
Came home, woman driving by, waving at me. Love this Caravan Park!!!

Friday: Off to Subi to meet Sami for another mural hunt!
Just to understand:
Take bus 450 to Warwick (say "Hello" and  shout "Thank you!" from the back to the driver when hopping off - if he sees you he´ll wave and smile!!! - We are people!)

Run down to platform 1 and catch the train to Perth Underground (there are fast escalators, stay left if standing); hop off, run to platform 7 and find a train to Subi, meet your friend and the fun begins!
Later: Find your Hubby, see here.
Then enjoy the fireworks provided by Lottery West and head aaaaall the way home.
A wonderful. long day!
1972 steps counted from when I put my skirt on, so... a lot more for real.

Weekend: Saturday: Chinese New Year! Films to come when back home! So much fun here!!
If only.... we could stay, the cabin´d be enough.
Speaking of... Ingo met the man who lives in "our" cabin I booked last year.
Ingo: "Hole in the wall still there?" - "Yep! ;-)" - of course they love "our" cabin... but I am happy now with 101, too.
The hole was there in 2013, fixed, but visible. I like it, marks "my home"....
Which is WINDY!!!
Jamie on TV.

Sunday: It´s cccccold. 17C/62F in the Cabin. News war in Iran, oh horrible.
Later it warmed up, yipee, slow day. Yummy Mango.
Heard the melody again - the Ice Cream Truck!!!!
Parked in the middle of the road, took a different route and then, waving, parked on "our property"!!  Nice chat, he is third Greek, Dutch and German. Got Ingo an ice in a bowl - he wanted a waffle.
Went back - meanwhile other customers on "our place"... explained and... got the second ice for free - "see you in two years!"

Munchy:

I want to thank Ingo, all my lovely friends in Perth, it was a wonderful time!

Soon Grace´ll pick me up to meet Sami in Cottesloe for Sculpture by the Sea! Not open yet offiialy, we´ll see what we find!

Have great one ahead...

WHERE Is Your Hubby?!!!

We take the clock home, of course - here it is:

This of course is for...

Nicole´s SITAR - a cabin is a room, too, huh?

I have more and if you wonder about the title...

Dunno about other countries, in Australia you have coolers to keep your drink, well, cool!
And some are so pretty!
I got new crayons, oil, a first for me, so bare with me...

I had so much fun that Ingo tried to find more - all sold out!!!!

After lunch I went to Subi to meet up with Sami for another mural-hunt!
Then back to Perth, got the Astronaut, but missed two murals, went to the Belgian after trying to buy a bra.
It was impossible for the staff to find out what a German 75B is. But I got one.

Belgian, shoot, it´s Friday!!! LOUD! LOUD! I can only say... LOUD.
So, went outside and asked a couple if I may sit with them cause inside it´s so LOUD!!!
The man, "WHAT?!!!" - "INSIDE... LOUD!" - "Yes, you´re welcome to sit with us!"
For those who know me, this was some big step for introvert me!
And did we chat along!

Went back inside got myself a beer and came back to them. With one beer.

Man: "WHERE is your Hubby?!!!!"

Yes. It was dark. A Friday night. A pub.
I.Can.Go.By.Myself!!!
Also what if I was with a woman???
Said, "dunno, somewhere in the CBD? He´ll pop by soon."

And that he did... with a surprise, too:

....with a second set of those awesome crayons! There was one left but mind you... with my orientation and in the dark, not a chance and I have to take it all to Germany, too...

That´s it from the Cabin... Sadly off to Germany come Wednesday.

Oh, and it´s March, celebrate with Wendy Binks:

Got this from the Freo Markets!

 This beauty is from here.

T STands For FrosTy!

Have you ever tried a Guinness? Luckily the pub back then was nearby  - I made it to bed.
Henry smiles to this - and we join Elizabeth´s T

The journal:

Monday: Wrote to Bro "Got some things done" and misspelled "erledigt" to "erlegt" (> killed) -  huh, boy  - he asked back a "wild boar?" - at least he could laugh! And when he called... he was in a good mood - YAY!
Peanut is back!!!!! With partner/sibling!!!!! Walnuts are out!!!! Sorry for the !!! but I am so happy!

Tuesday: More snow. And a lazy day. Nicole with the Sunday Meme reminded me to take "van Gogh" with me to Perth!
Wrote to Skye to make sure we get cabin #79 for sure. To shock her sent a snow pic along, LOL.
One thing each day, huh.

As everyone showed their art-place and I join with traditional T-Day also with Nicole, here goes:

Sorry, I still have "the Rotz" - handkerchiefs all around.

Wednesday: -5C /23F and I needed to go to the pharmacy. Snow and ice. Usually I cross the street  where it is "OK" - I was a good one and took the official way - longer, safer. In the pharmacy the nice lady - in a T-shirt!!! - gave me two packs of paper handkerchiefs for free, LOL. I spent over 300 bucks!
As in I have everything safe for Perth and after. And I need the meds anyways.

One dude in just a pullover (well and trousers and shoes - otherwise would´ve been a real bummer!), a woman with ice-support on her shoes (want!) and people on push-bikes! In ice. My eyes... tearing like crazy in the cold - people looked at me in pity, thinking I cry (no, and the meds help!).

Thursday:  Bell. Postman. Ukrainian or Russian*. Studied the name plates and chose... me.
"M, I know, put in front, can you take these?" - in a very good German, he asked, harsh accent but good. As  I know both neighbors I agreed and made him really happy. "Name?" (both our names are on the bell) - "Kaiser" (Emperor) - no question, he´d read it outside.

Germans ask "with 'ay'?" - "like König" (king) - "with  'oe'?" Drives me nuts. He knew :-)

Those are migrants that are welcome for sure. In minus-grades doing a good job (OK in their country this is still "warm", LOL). Both parcels got picked up at once. Yippee.

Fireworks :-(

Friday: Schooool´s out for... Friday!!! Really. When I was a kid I walked six miles uphi.... you know see here, if you like. Lower Saxony closes schools down due to snow and ice! Even on TV news... glad Ingo sees our dentist today! As in not driving to Salzgitter.

Fireworks. In.The.Morning.

And Ingo came home with this: On my Birthday 08:00 a.m. I will sit on "the chair"! Actually I had a date in March, but our dentist now wants to see me before we go to Perth to make sure all is OK. I ... noooo.... noooo....
But huh, look - they even help kids!!!  Think I count as kid... They ARE the Tooth Fairies!!!
She always says she´s proud of me for braving up and coming by. Meep. She rarely finds anything.
Went outside. Came back in, had to get out of my trousers at the door. Full.of.snow.

Weekend: Saturday: Ingo did: Go to REWE in the darn snow. Did get my dumbphone back to work, ripped some movies AND repaired my  Blueray-slot! Man it looked like yuck! We have no carpet so all the dust went in there. And he worked out how to avoid going to the doc to get the very expensive meds against thrombosis:  Aspirin 100! I took care of that. Man, it was a workout through the snow!

Sunday: We slept holding hands, it was soooooooo good.
Watched "Lost Places": "NSDAP and everyone listened to 'the greatest German', Hit#er!" - He.Was.Austrian! And no "people". And I had so much fun with my Austrian colleagues. But I hate when I get accused of being responsible of Holocaust just because I am (half-) "German".

*There is no "the Russian" and those who come here say no to war. My hopefully to-be-again-teamlead is Russian. She gave her best to help me.
fK learned Russian and can on the dot translate Ukrainian to me - like Bavarian and German.
I may repeat myself... we are but people

YES!!! Enough! Pics tomorrow as this is enough!
 To a happy T-Day!

Am I Married To A President?

Here you can watch "Every American President's Favourite Food"

Most were simple foods, childhood-related, from poor times.

Ingo meanwhile, "you want Baked Beans and Corned Beef, too?" - fitting! He´s the President of Condo #3 here.

Childhood? No, Australia, when living in the car and cooking with an army-cooker in one pan.

Eisenhower cooked himself! As sometimes Obama did. And one... requested his steak "well done" - outch.
Hold your breath...

We once were in "the best steak house of Braunschweig" - we left without eating anything, but that´s another story... Some rich couple ordered steak "well done" and Ingo joked, "with ketchup..." - and he was right.
Bet the chef cried.

"Habits of the 1960s that would be unthinkable today

 Health Clubs

Gyms became increasingly popular in the 1960s."

I left mine years ago, people couldn´t behave.

Henry 🦁

I´ll stay home... and wish you a happy Sunday!
Ingo will make steak, mushrooms, salt, pepper - yummiest!
Still firecrackers.

Addendum for Gillena: A postcard:
