From Perth-Like To Worse-Like?

Got up at 05, checked on you guys, 06 started to work till 06:55 and took off grocery shopping.
As if I was in Perth, let me tell you, it was bliss!
A hot summer-morning!

Yet, certainly this is Braunschweig and whilst waiting for the cars to pop through I took pic above for you and certainly when "he" arrived...

"Stromabnehmer", pffft...., your name is panto!
On the way back I heard a true Perth-noise... the bus we always wait for in Madely...

07:16 and it´s hot.
Oh, can´t life be like this always?

You say, no, you would not appreciate it anymore!
Yes, I would. Every single day.
I went through enough nasty Autumns and Winters in my life.

This is life:

And then - work.
Spanish colleague P went a bit harsh, I was in cc and ... well, told him so, suggested to not use the word error but ask to clarify.
He was thankful for my tip.

Later in a meeting I moaned over darn Sharepoint, "isn´t there a program to extract all files, with origin, so we can be more effective and still stick to darn Sharepoint?"

Silence. I thought my mike was off, but no.
Teamleader N, "yes, 'thank you'. And what will you do over the weekend?! 😉 - OK, I´ll write a macro."
Also the other day I saw what they did on HiDrive and asked why not have the same structure we have in darn Sharepoint?

No answer but doing by N, murmuring, "yes, you are right." - I am the only woman and it does not matter, good ideas are accepted, I´m but "one of them".

Said, wouldn´t it be good to have kind of a handbook (I will have to go in action if both are not there) - N: "Yes - C, do that!".
I think at some point they may "hate" me - kidding -  (I am am also the "youngest").

Let me tell you, I´m afraid.
This is too good to be true.
I am but external and officially the contract ends September...
There is a chance they keep me... wish me luck, please.

Whilst in the meeting the reminder for the next already popped up.
And with that we come to "Worse-Like"...

Spanish colleague P wrote from his cell in Barcelona:

The day before in the news they showed a train in Spain rushing through fire - both sides. Portugal - many a fire, too, even Britain... It´s scary.

Here in Europe we are not used to this.
Everything is so dry, fires  have an easy job.

We all skipped the later meeting and instead I had some balcony-time:

Sooo refreshing!
And again. I was the only person outside!!!
How?!

King Frog and I enjoyed.
A great book (kindle). Sadly done, I think I´ll bring it to you bit by bit.
I usually don´t read novels.
But this one could be a true story and I bet there were persons - female persons - around like that in the 1950´s fighting so men accept my opinion these days just like that.

You have wings, Henry? Oh, thank you, summer is here, I stay home!

Party!

Oh, I hate myself.
Ingo was so kind to get my bike up from the cellar and off I took at 4:00 p.m.
What was I thinking?!
On foot I need 40 minutes.

I stopped in the park, sadly no book with me.
Time to show you my new shoes some asked about:

The beautiful bag is a pressie from my SIL btw. Actually I wanted to take my Perth-bag but thought that might ruin my t-shirt whilst driving the bike.

I stopped here and there...

I sometimes wonder. My Bro - like my Mum was - always late. Me, like my Dad... wayyyy too early - both not good!

A "gem"?

I stood there, knowing no one at  ESE.
Was sure at home I´d grabbed, more or less blindly a Freo T-Shirt when suddenly a female ESE-colleague addressed me (Yipeee! Those who know me know I am extremely shy, it´s a pain).

She said, "oh, Perth!!! Do you belong to the Perth-project?"

We have a Perth project???? WHAT?!

I was wearing this, btw, name-tag included:

"No, it´s a railway going to a mining town ... no one wants to work there..."

Me: "Tom Price?"

LOL, you should´ve seen her face!!!

(See our "huge" car in the background!).

Oh, so glad I wore the Perth shirt!!!!
She is rather shy, too and we stuck together for nearly the rest of the evening. She introduced me to others, it was a nice event.

Please, if you´re in for a wonderful, cute story read to you.... click!
You will hear the finest Aussie-slang, too! 😍
You´ll meet a Koala, also. And Kookaburras. A possum, too. A frog, like on our balcony. And (no) surprise, a kangaroo.

They admired him and on my explanation went ohhhh, and ahhhh so much the only man left the table, LOL!

Such a variety of food, two nice bosses, one, after the official part came back and back and back with these:

"Toot my horn"! (when translation goes wrong - the horn of a train was translated to "deer head" and my now teamleader went to Sweden with Jägermeister - it has a deer head!).
Boy, oh, boy!
We had more than one, ice-cool, too - oh, if I was nasty I would´ve sneaked a glass home - did not. These are glasses from Magnifest.

One new colleague from Poland was so eager to speak German. Blue eyes, beautiful face, trying to flirt... with me!!! And no, no Jägermeister for him, he went back to Poland that night.
Some came from Frankfurt, Kiel and even Munich!!!
I do believe this is a great company.

I said I´ll leave 8:30 latest. Was home 10:30, Ingo was about to call!
Was too ... lazy! to drag the bike down into the cellar, weee, it´s really steep. Also without Jägermeister that is difficult for me!
So. Like back when Ingo was in hospital and I needed the bike every day... it´s happy to stay here!

Thank you, big boy!

Meet Stumpy And His Family!

OK, sorry, I had to, Stumpy made me, turn on the sound! (I spare you another song, LOL)

Let´s go to Hamelin Pool, Corinna, how about that?
This was 1999.
Wiki says: "The Hamelin Pool Marine Nature Reserve is a protected marine nature reserve located in the UNESCO World Heritage–listed Shark Bay in the Gascoyne region of Western Australia."

We just had brekkie when a tourist-bus arrived blaring... you guess it?
Cliché!!!
Wiki says: "Waltzing Matilda" is Australia's best-known bush ballad, and has been described as the country's "unofficial national anthem"."

Whilst "the tourists" (well, we were tourists, too, right?!) ... whilst they visited Stumpy the bus-driver had... cliché #2 Weetabix and offered us some coffee, together with a nice morning-talk.
(He also offered the Weetabix, but we just had our brekkie, right - another coffee was no problem, though).

We had the time of the world and let them visit Stumpy before we went.
At this Nature Reserve you find a lot of amazing stuff!

Blocks?! Whole houses!

Just imagine how people form these ideas and make a HOUSE from shells!

Well. Last we went to meet the family. Feels like visiting my parents...
See how sad Stumpy looks down?

Back then they were alive, my parents. I remember how we looked so hard for a telephone booth each time one had a birthday - check the time, too! Once we even drove in darkness for that (not a good idea in rural Australia, but we had a bull-bar and no one jumped in front anyways :-)...)

Henry 🦁... He was not with us.

Sweet memories. Hope we can travel again soon. Without the Waltzing ... that´s the song I did not....OK... here goes anyways!

Let´s go... waltz... to the billabong, shall we? Swags we had!
(No guitar, though. Also... BECAUSE!!! I went to a "professional" music store and got a guitar for adults. I´m small. Could hardly reach the F and hence gave up. A youth-guitar and I´d be in. Mrs Paeth is everywhere!!! (synonym for DUMB! I worked with her for 3 years!!! Dumb/incompetent people we name like her ever since...).)

"Up jumped the swagman and sprang into the billabong.
"You'll never catch me alive!" said he
And his ghost may be heard as you pass by that billabong:
"You'll come a-waltzing Matilda, with me."

Orange

 This is for Stevenson.
1995 we visited Uluru, Ayers Rock.

Early morno, of course, we were there. The colors were running up the rock amazingly, but HEEELP, soooo many people!

And so many climbing the rock later.
I´m not sure on this... on one hand... it´s a sacred place for the Aborigines ...other ... in 1995...
The world goes against the darn Na#is (rightfully, too), but here we have a stolen generation. That has a hard time to cope. Still.
These days it´s not allowed to climb but when the decision was made they showed pics.
Of all the littered cans, bottles and whatever. Some people have no respect whatsoever and I´m glad this has ended....

We did not climb, we walked around.

For the night we came back - Britz, Germans, I could hear that.
Boooooy.
Sami and I sure know a French man who keeps silent at times, hiding he has French roots.

We hid our German ones.
The Britz-camper stood on.... "Disabled only" and none of them was disabled other than in their heads.

1999... We pretended to be rich. And looked at show-houses in Perth.
MIND YOU!!!!!

I was too shy back then.
A couple in their 50´s.
The woman started raging in German how shit#y it all was, how wrong the measurements... No idea how she came to the latter, she had nothing but her body to measure.

I pretended to not understand.

NOW! As in TODAY!

I would talk LOUDLY. In ENGLISH. For everyone to understand.
I would tell her off ... that German is NO SECRET LANGUAGE and if she doesn´t like the house... you get the picture.

1999. We went by Ayers Rock... dearest Stevenson, I don´t wanna sound like a certain woman who came around the corner with loads of hugs and then revealing how wonderful she is, making everything better!!!

But... in our humble way we were on the way to another destination then - we did´t have to pay entrance fee... more to come.

My face didn´t turn orange as the rock but red from anger on that stupid woman in the show-house!
Arrogance, a German saying (?) comes before you fall...

Dearest Stevenson, go, have a look, not only at that rock, take some weeks or months off and explore. By golly, you´re young enough to sleep in the car, OK? That makes the journey inexpensive.... it was like that back then at least.

And don´t miss out on these!

Henry 🦁...

Diary presented by my friend, yes that´s how we rolled back then this...

Six months in this :-)
