T Stands For A Wedding

Not my ticket to Elizabeth´s T ... I could resist!
Here goes:

The journal:

Monday: Real slow day at work and ohhh, boy. Met new colleagues. One is from Poland, the other has a Muslim-name and you really have to concentrate to understand them.
Both are very nice, of course, but especially the Polish colleague talks real fast on top!
Went to the doc, that counts as sport.
So windy and cold you could think it´s October already.

Tuesday: New project and no idea how to approach it. Horrible. Feel like a loser, loads of pressure.
Was at ALSTOM for over a year, am "the new one" at "my" company ESE - how can they expect... tough, wish me luck and BRAIN.

Later Dialogue with one of the bosses 3-6 p.m. on AI in railway.
Expected more. We were only a group of 20 peeps. Sad - this is important.
Only two sessions hence.

Wednesday: Dreamed something weird and creative and then stepped upon Tom´s with a post on creativity.
Maybe I find a solution for the huge project this way...?
Re-structuring the Intranet-page of ESE. They hope to see results come November. So they know it´s big.

Handbook-chaos-team with fun, nearly done.

Ingo shortened the "wedding"-dress for me - perfect. It´s "t-shirt"-fabric, so I didn´t dare.
Now summer-Gurri is waiting for it, too!
Ingo learned sewing as a child.

Doc and city - ´nough sport.
Heavy rain afterwards.

Thursday: Handbook-chaos-team with fun. Boy, it was exhausting.
The round, yellow thing is out from time to time. But 18C / 64F is.not.summer.
Exhausted, no training.

Friday: One traffic jam, other Ingo did a great job and we were certainly WAYYYY too early to the wedding.
BIL was super-nervous. Can someone explain this to me?
The speeches were too long and it was way too cold. I recognized none of my old school-mates, none! All but "old men", LOL (now what makes that of me ;-)...)
New SIL ran around in a summer dress (well it should be summer) and repeated she is so nervous she is feeling hot.
Again... why???
Back in the day when you hardly knew one another I would understand but in these times?

Ingo was wearing his wedding-suit  and the sun peeked out.
Saw a dragonfly whilst wedding was on!!!!!
No pic as we were asked not to.
There was a professional photographer who had gigantic gear.

Tissue for the tears of joy - Bride had the tears, not the tissue!!!
(Ingo and I had to sit front row and saw it all).
The paper-fan was not needed, I froze my butt off.
Bottle opener not needed. One toilet - I took to white wine.
Nice ideas, though.

Weekend: Saturday: Huge accident on the way home - in the other direction.
Ingo is a very good, calm driver. "Brekkie" was KFC at lunch-time and ow. When they started here in Germany a couple of years ago the food was freshly made for you. Crispy, yummy.
Now you order via touchscreen, get the food in seconds - wobbly cause old. Won´t go there again.

No rain, sun is partially out, still too cold.

Sunday: We slept in. This stress on the Autobahn is just enormous, also for me.
I tried to read (first on owls, on the way back (no brekkie) on Sandwiches and then Pizza), but seeing how weird traffic is... I got distracted too often.

AND! Have you seen our host´s last mural-entry

I used all shown there and last this one, to bake:

"Art"-wise:

Let´s wish the couple all the best.

T STands For STill Swollen?

My ticket to Elizabeth´s T!
This sparkling wine sat in the fridge since... December? And now we finally had a reason to celebrate!
The glasses are not dirty, btw.
Ingo´s colleagues glued white edible gummy-mice on them as wedding pressie in 2013 (along with some money - same word in German, mice is money, also coal).
The glasses my Mum presented me with are bigger and soooo expensive, so we used these.
PERTH IS BOOKED!!!

The journal:

Monday: After work went to get Ingo´s bread.
Off meds, off tiredness (yipee), back to pain.
Ingo later: "Finger still swollen?!" He saw in an instant the ring is still off.
Boy. That wedding ring needed to hop on! I never wanted to marry (as my Mum said she married only cause of me and would´ve left otherwise - do you need to tell this to your kid?).
Now I am glad and really can say "Hubby". Or, in German, "mein Mann".
The first few years (we were together like forever as boy- and girlfriend), I "freaked" a bit when Ingo said "meine Frau". WHO??? Oh.

Rings bought in Joondalup, Perth.
Dumb me thought (thinking!...) it´s the same world-wide:
Husband and wife wear the "same" ring. Pfffft, not in Australia!
How´s it like in your place?

Certainly we went ring- (and wedding-dress-) shopping last sec and these rings were the only ones we got.
From a mine we went through in 1999, too.
See, why these rings are so special to us?
It´s a "man´s" ring hence my Brother, who did the engraving, had to make mine smaller.
He had to run and jump onto the old machine to make it happen - titanium is tough!

Since we married in Perth we wear our rings on the left hand - no one in Germany assumes we are married, LOL. I could go easily for a second man! (Germans wear them on the right hand). This, certainly goes for Ingo as well...

Also Ingo: "I needed to get your phone."
"Our, that´s OUR phone, in OUR living room!!!"
To Ingo it´s my phone in my room, and, well. I´ve blocked pretty much indeed.
My work-monitors block the (old) telly even...
BUT there is Ingo´s billiard-table, Ingo´s record player and all his records...

I was too tired to blog (the tiredness from the meds wore off slowly).
Ingo asked if I did not or if something´s wrong with our internet - sweet, isn´t it 😘.
Ingo had a blog once, too, but sadly gave up. Yet he likes/approves this hobby of mine!

Tuesday: Dear Sami helping out again contacting the "darn" Caravan Park that is slack with E-Mails.
Plan: 31st of Jan to March 7th.

And yes, what the heck... Dear burglar: You´ll find old PCs, a very old TV, my Brother´s youth-bed... an old kitchen,... break in. Maybe tidy up a bit.

Work: Brazilian to-be-Teamleader called, explained only half of what he wanted.
I asked Spanish colleague (speaks English) as I worked for him - he explained something different!
E-mailed the Russian colleague - from whom the work is... (speaks very, very fast German with accent)... what a day!!! We chatted like forever. Problem not solved, though! 🤣 But we had fun! Oh, there have to be days like that, too, right?

Wednesday: It all went backwards through the countries. Ack! 10 work-hours again.
BUT! To-be-teamleader in an official meeting after telling me personally said openly it was his fault, not mine the day before.
See - we are a GREAT TEAM! I said "no worries" hence twice and everyone is OK with it! We are also very chaotic. And funny.

Thursday: Had a .pdf-"problem", called ESE-teamleader and after he found a cheap solution I asked about the colleagues and myself. Seems like we´ll be safe till end of June.
Funny: He talked to me like I was a man, cursing included.
Later had a tiny question for my Russian colleague and I learned soo much about... his life in Russia, LOL. I get used to the Russian accent, too, and he always speaks well of our former Ukrainian teamleader.
This war between those two countries is so stupid (which one is not).

Friday: Job was like chewing gum. The comments for rejecting my colleague´s work were from what we call a " Korinthenkacker", a raisin pooper.
And - contradiction? - placed so weird it was a ton of work for me to find which belonged to what, to "make up" a system and to translate it on top (I spare you all the other steps involved).
Didn´t finish it.
ESE-PC dead, even Ingo could not help.
Perth flight unbookable.
A frustrating day.
Even the Sun could not make up for it.
Tax office has "something" too - bet it´s nothing good.
Food from a new Greek restaurant. Hm. Not again.

Weekend: Saturday: A plain pain. We tried from Ingo´s account, from mine, Singapore Airlines had a huge problem.
In the end Ingo managed "somehow" and we shared a mini-bottle of sparkling wine BUT the seats themselves are not booked.
I.Want.To.Sit at Ingo´s side!!!! I hate flying. I NEED Ingo by my side... Wish us luck.
Food: YUM. More to come.

Sunday: Brekkie.
We are old.
Back in the day we shared 3, now 2 so one was for brekkie to share 😁
Another for dinner. Lunch:
New bread Ingo bought, potatoe bread.
The Half a Glattes was old from "day 1" again. Seems they keep the price (and €2,35 is not cheap for HALF a bread) by secretly giving you old ones.
I am sorry for "my" baker-ladies, not their fault!!
If Ingo is OK with this.. bye-bye to a 22-year old tradition 😢

Other food:

Cheese makes life better, right?
This was a brokkoli-cookie, need to bake it again, hmmm....

I keep the best-of calendar-pages from my Enstein-calendar in a map, so I use my ... oh, I think the "puncher" is older than myself.
And Ingo got chocolate from the oldest chocolate-factory of (East-) Germany, the Halloren Chocolate Factory - and they, to keep the chocolate "in piece" have them protected in such thick paper you can re-use to play connect four after you´re done with your sweets - clever, no?
Clever, unlike what these kids do... (see yesterday´s post) - I bet they make it to the news today again 🙄

Good Signs

So. I´m with those who are "Connecting Specialists to Pioneering Projects".
12 000 worldwide, sounds a bit scary (a lot).

I was there 10:52 and the secretary greeted me with "Good morning! 🙂"
Darn me blurted out... "you still say 'Good morning`now?".
Hrgggh. Mouth, wait till the brain is through with thinking!!!

The "pressie":

So I show up properly at the customer.

In case you are interested (so many wished me luck!):
We kept the distance and Teamleader said, "OK, we can take our masks off now."
We talked for 45 minutes, I signed a felt 1000 times and when done he said, "OK, now we can switch from the official `Sie` to the casual `du`, I´m happy you join us."

Another very good sign:

They call me "Mitarbeiter", not Mitarbeiterin. Maybe cause in my vitae all is in the male form.
They wrote "Ingenieur", not "Ingenieurin" etc at my old company 😁

I worked 17 years with mainly men only, plus... I fought a lot for - in the old customer´s portal - to not go with "Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeiter".
That´s redundant. No more info, just more to write and read.

Well. At the new customer... mostly women, I was told.
Let´s see how that goes.

Going ... it would be but a 4km walk! Or... will be.

As some of you asked. I´m supposed to generate handbooks (on railway-developments, as far as I know - I´ll meet the customer in 2 weeks or December) and translate them to English.

Thursday I´ll have another job-interview on testing.
I´ll take it and will be honest, right?
Say "thank you, but I just signed another job-offer" and that I´m still interested for the future, right?

That´s what my T aka "old" Teamleader suggested yesterday.
He´s always there for me with advice, too.
What would you do? I do not lie...

Henry 🦁 ...

Oh, boy, I still cannot believe it.
I think I did everything right.
Said I declined two jobs (would´ve been in Wolfsburg) and I am glad I did.
He said, "I´m also glad 🙂".

Corinna... gave me another time  out - and I needed that!

Lived! Learned so much new stuff!
This, certainly, is for Tom´s Signs2!

Thank You

Mural taken at BraWoPark, Braunschweig.

Weee, time flies, Sami is back!

I admit I am one week behind, but getting no sleep I am up 04.-something and joining Sami´s COLOURFULWORLD Monday Murals!!!

It was a rather weird year (again), but I wanna say thank you to all those who stopped by here, left a comment and made me smile with their posts so often, too.

(OK, this was a give-away Ingo got in a parcel.
He ordered super-magnets for work. Yes, from his private money as it would´ve taken way more efford to get the money back or the items via that company, just don´t ask...

And he gave it to me!).

To a new, mostly fun and happy year of living and blogging, right?

Lion of the day?
He is in the first pic, again.

I´d like to add a little story to that ring in the first pic, too.

We wear them on the left hand. No, we´re not engaged, we´re married. But this happened in Perth (holiday was long booked before we decided to marry), so the left hand it is.
We bought the rings there, too.
I expected it is just like here in Germany, wedding rings look the same.
Haaaa, no. The woman gets a huge one, with a fancy stone, whatever, the man a plain one, I was told. You do not find those "wedding-ring-stands"!
NO!
We found - two days before getting married (yes, we were late) two matching "men"-rings, I took the smallest, but it was still too big.

At home my Brother made the wedding-engravings and had to hang on with his full body weight to make mine smaller.

It´s titanium, produced in WA, Western Australia.
So: To let´s being tough in hard situations, right?
And gentle blog-wise....

Broken Heart

A sadly now only former friend of mine turned 41 yesterday.

She is at VW, Volkswagen.

When she was a trainee I took her to Wolfsburg in my car, we were friends soon.

We met after work, she invited us to her wedding and such.

Like me she never wanted kids but got pregnant and had twins.

I visited and all.

One day she and the kids came home... We all knew A, her hubby, had a heart issue.
They found him dead, lifeless on the couch.
It still breaks my heart, I dreamt of her last night...

I made contact so often (I´m an e-mail person), I´m no machine, though, there are no answers, so I stopped.
For heavens, he was 40 only. A house, two kids and boom! - gone.

Every day is a pressie..., see here

Pic: Ingo made the "laundry rack" from chopsticks, I folded the money to shirts, it was our pressie to their wedding.

Btw, on looking for the post on their marriage I found how Ingo succeeded in showing the titanium in my arm, LOL!!!

YumYumYum

Pic taken yesterday on the way back home from White Horse SC.
We got fries and fishfingers, some kind of a wedding anniversary pressie for both of us cause...

We finally got a smart fryer!
You need no oil for these:

... with some vinegar... YUM!
And for the following you only need a wee bit of cooking spray:

Yum, quick and easy!
I wonder why we waited so long!
Not exactly low carb but yummmm!

If you have tips please share, newbies here!
(I plan fresh kale...?)

Lion of the day. Well, it´s low-, not no-carb, right? :-)

Perth XXII

November 30th had arrived. And was still unreal.
Later friend P said she thought a marriage over for three years. I didn´t even have 3 days, no wonder this felt weird, no?

H and B with their Son came to pick us up after taking care of my hopeless hair. Thanks for trying ;-)

And then off we went to Joondalup, where we met Mandi and her kids.
And waited.

Finally our celebrant C arrived and after speaking it briefly through we really started...

As described before we chose just a minimal "package", still it took quite a while to go through it all.

Sadly I´m not sure if I am allowed to reproduce the exact words online - these days there is a new huge wave of dissuasions e.g. when you take pics from pixelio, stick to the rules and still you get into trouble, so I better don´t.

But I can say C started with a nice introduction and the little verse we had chosen, maybe you know it it´s called "Today". We went for this also because it makes clear that the time we have together is not endless. 2008 will forever keep warning me...

The declaration was a little surprising to me. That a marriage is still exclusively between a man and a woman. And that it was mentioned it is voluntarily - sadly I have an idea about this one...

The asking was very nice, all about helping to pursue the other one´s dreams, even if they differ at times from your own, about respect and room to grow, about pointing out strenghths and also weaknesses, contentment, happiness, being a loving, faithful husband/wife... and being the best friend.

I was a tad surprised about the vows, but luckily C spoke the words so slow it was easy to repeat.

And then...

... the ring vows we were so nervous about, thinking we have to say them by ourselves, freely. Being nervous, having eyes on us and speaking in another language than our native one. Causeless, C again read the words slowly to each of us - easy!

It was followed by a nice declaration, speaking of an unknown future stretching out before us. That there will be hopes, and also disappointments, joys and sorrow. And we face it together. And then we were husband and wife. Whew!

Everyone signed...

And now it was official, at least for Australian law:

Thanks everyone for being there for us!

Group pic :-)

And this one, with tongue sticking out :-)

B did a great job with all the pics after all, thanks heaps, usually I look dang stupid on pics!
Here at the lake, on the jetty:

It was all well done, still I was really glad when it was over.

We were invited to dinner after that - weird to Germans, let me tell you.
And also say thank you!

On the way home there was an itty bit of rain - and with that a rainbow.
If that is not a good sign, huh?

If you think this was it, you´re wrong.
Some stressy moments were to follow!
But luckily we got help!
