Spectrum Noir Blog Challenge - Summer

Hi Everyone

A little summery card to share with you today and this is my card for the July Spectrum Noir blog challenge, which is Summer.  And you only have today and tomorrow left to enter....... July is coming to an end............

So I have used my Spectrum Noir markers and Spectrum Noir Pencils with a beautiful Skipping  image from Lily of the valley, as it reminds me of summer with her pretty summery dress on too.  My base card is Kraft card and I've matted with nitwit papers, promises and promises solids.  I bought the frame a while ago but not found a card I wanted to use them on as they are so special, so thought this was perfect and centered it over a sentiment stamped in dusty concord distress ink.  I've used white Frantage on the main image and added a few pearls and lace ribbon and finished with a very small flower die  and added a little bit of bling from Chloe.

colours used

FS1, FS3, FS4, TN2, TN3, TN4, EB1, EB3, EB8, LV1, LV2 blender, cr3, pencils 81, 89, 96 with blending solution and paper stumps

Hope you like it.

Creating Clouds

Hi Everyone

Today's card to share with you is a card I made for the Spectrum Noir Blog, showing how I created clouds on the card below.  There's a full step by step picture tutorial on the blog so why not give it a go.

The image is called Meant to be and i just love it.  I've used backing papers from my paper stash, the polka dot is from Anna marie designs and the black and grey is from a papermaker pad.  The dies set I've just for the image is the cameo frame.  I've added a sentiment from my stash and the dies for the flowers are bitty blossom, a Marianne flower fantasy die and also a Britannia leaf die.  For the base I've used my favourite crafters companion matt black card and i even got my sewing machine out to edge the matting.

There is a full list of the spectrum noir markers used on the blog.
I have to say i love the clouds and you can add as many or as few as you like.

Hope you like it.

FOOD!!!!

Hi Everyone

The Spectrum Noir Blog Challenge for December is food............  So i have chosen a Lily of the Valley stamp i bought ages ago and had not even used once............  This one is called Icing the Cake.

All of the colours of the Spectrum Noir pens used are on the spectrum noir blog page and I've used crafters companion black matt card stock for the base.  Then some red card from my stash and the patterned paper is from Colemans when i demoed a couple of weeks ago.  Claire and i bought 2 packs and shared them.  Its an A4 paper maker pack in cream and black and its gorgeous, we also got the pink and blue too....  Then I've cut my coloured image out with the circle die from the Chantilly lace diesire die and used the black card stock for the matching Chantilly lace die.  I've also used some Frantage on the edge of my image, the smallest tag from the scalloped tag  diesire set and finished with a bit of matching black ribbon.

This card has gone to my friend Audrey who called me the other night to say she loved it. I'm just about to lock myself away in my craft room to make some more Christmas cards.  I am not allowed out until i am done as i have left it far to late this year.

Hope you like it and don't forget to pop over to the blog and take part for a fabby prize.

Little Ivy

Hi Everyone

I've been so busy that's its been a whole month since I've posted and i even missed the post of my next crafty make on the spectrum noir blog.  It went up on the 16th November i think.  But, its been a busy month what with the NEC, then a demo at Graces Middlesbrough and then this weekend gone at Colemans in Rushden.  I'm not complaining, i wouldn't have it any other way...............  although i need a weekend off soon.

Sooooooooo, tomorrow Leann and i are off to the big smoke.  We've been talking about this for a while and finally have been able to fit it in.   We leave tomorrow, hopefully if the trains are running......  what a weekend to pick........  although there is always plan B if there are no trains, drive to Peterborough and drop Leanns TV samples off ready for next week and then a quick train journey into Kings cross.  i think its only about 45 mins - an hour.  So either way we will get there and I'm sure i will have some photos to share with you.

Anyway, here's my card for the Spectrum noir Christmas blog challenge November, sorry you cant enter now as its finished.  Although there is another one already up for December so i will have to be quick and share that one.

I've used a Lily of the valley image, Little Ivy, coloured with my fabby brand new Spectrum Noir Pens, colours are on the Spectrum blog.  The base is our fab new Crafters Companion Kraft Card, with red coredinations embossed using a holly embossing folder.  Hope you have one as they are all sold out although a mistletoe 6x6 is still available and would be just as good.  The patterned paper is from my stash as is the ribbon.  I've also die cut a bow using the same embossed coredinations and a stamp from the Mistletoe kisses sentimental stamp set using fired brick distress ink.
Hope you like it.

Anything but a card Challenge

Hi Everyone

This months (August) challenge on the Spectrum Noir blog was to create a project but not a card.  So while out and about i scouted for something i could decorate and this is what i found at Houghton Hall Garden Centre on Saturday gone when i was demoing.  The frame only cost me £2.40 and i think it will be a perfect addition to Gracies bedroom.

I have covered it with Gingham paper from the Party Paws cd and some purple braiding,  i also bought from the same craft shop.  The link takes you to a full pack but in each shop its sold separately for only £1.00 per roll.  Then all i have done is coloured two lily of the valley images, Lovley Lilies and My Best Friend  in with my spectrum noir pens in matching colours. and cut them out and stuck onto the frame.  To complete i have just added a few liquid pearl drops.
Icon, 11x17 cm, Empress Tree, 1 pc

 Colours used

hair EB1, TN2, TN3, TN7, EB3, EB8, BG7
Skin, FS2, FS3, TN2, CR3, CR4
Dress & Hairband HB1, LV1, LV2, LV3, JG1, , JG3, JG7
Flowers and leaves DG2, DG4, GB1, GB5, EB3

Gracies Christmas Prezzie

Hi Everyone

Well I am totally neglecting my blog so far this year, this is only my second post and its the 13th Jan already. So I though i would share a gift I made to go up on Gracie s  bedroom wall at home.  And as you will probably gather this was only one of Gracie's  Christmas gifts as she got lots more.  Including Dad being happy for once (well for all of about 5mins that is!)

I've used 3 LOTV images and coloured with Spectrum Noirs.  There is a bit of glare from the picture frame glass and the circle you can see is the lens of the camera.  so apologies for that.

Hope you like it and i will be back soon with a spectrum noir blog post.  i just need to figure out what i am going to do first, my mind is blank..........

Birthday Wishes

Hi Everyone

Hope you have all had a lovely Christmas, I know I have........ I have loved just lazing about watching reading cooking etc but thought today I would make an effort to make a card, totally unrelated to Christmas to get me up and doing something creative again.

So this is a LOTV image that i have had since March and this is the first time I have used it. Although i did colour this and some other images while watching TV over the past few days so I just had to make it into a card.  I really must aim to use all of my stamps at least once before buying any more   Coloured with Spectrum Noirs and I've added quite a bit of grey to darken the colours up.  Papers and flowers are from my stash as too is the gem swirls.  The a little tag to add the sentiment.

I really must get my thinking cap on for the Crafter Companion blog challenge as January's is anything but a card, but I am stumped at the minute.

Hope you like it.

Craft Punked Blog Challenge - Wedding

Hi Everyone

Its time for another Craft Punked  blog challenge and this week's theme is weddings.  So.............  luckily i had a card already prepared for a friend who asked me to make one for a couple that were renewing their vows. Its a design you have seen before and i first saw it when Pops made it a while ago and loved it.  Everyone who has since asked me for a wedding card just loves this and i have made 5 or six now just in varying colours.

Coloured with spectrum noirs and made with snow white Centura Pearl and a little magnolia card stock.  The flowers are from wild orchid crafts and i found the heartt charm in my stash.  oh and nearly forgot the stamp is from Lily of the Valley.

Pop over to the blog and join in.

Hope you like it.

March Wedding

Hi everyone

I've a card to share with you today that i made a while ago for a previous work colleague that got in touch with me via Facebook after seeing my blog.  She wanted a wedding card for her freinds and she really liked the previous LOTV card i had made.  As the wedding has now passed i can share it with you.

I've coloured the image with spectrum noir pens and used magnolia paper.  Then just a few flowers and embellishments.  The tags are made by printing on centura pearl card and then heat embossing immediately before the ink dries as it stays wet a little while so the powder sticks to it.  Therefore you can personalise and emboss all your sentiments and they look special rather than just printed.  The inside has been made to match and finishes it off perfectly.

Hope you like it.

Glitter Geeks Blog Challenge - Nautical

Hi Everyone

This week the Glitter Geeks  Blog Challenge is 'Titanic' as this week it is the anniversary of its untimely demise.  I'm sure you will have noticed this with all of the programmes on TV about it and then the 3d release at the cinema.  So for my card this week i have chosen a LOTV stamp that i could ages ago, i think it was October but i might be mistaken and this was at a LOTV colouring class i went to.   I looked all over in my crafty stash for buttons, stars any embellishment really and nothing looked right so i left it plain.

I generally always take my photos on the window still n the living room as this is where i get the most light and tonight when i brought it downstairs my husband asked 'Is that my card?'.  It was his birthday today and i totally forgot, how bad is that.  I did remember last week, and yesterday and last night but it totally slipped my mind to either buy or make a card or wish him happy birthday this morning.  Never mind he's 49 so he'll get over it.

I look forward to seeing all of your entries this week and i hope you are the lucky winner.

Hope you like it.

Glitter Geeks Blog Challenge - Song Title

Hi Everyone

Well today i have some exciting news, Steph from the Glitter Geeks Blog Challenge kindly asked me to join her DT and contribute to the weekly challenges that are published every Friday.  I'm chuft to bits!  I even get to contribute in choosing a winner...  yeah.............  (i think)

Every Friday new challenges are posted at 9am and stay open until 18:00 the following Thursday so for this challenge you have until 18:00 on 8th March.  The sponsor is Di's Digi's and i can tell you i would have no problems spending a voucher there as i have bought quite a few images now and know i would like some more.......

So the first challenge i am contributing to is Song Title, so a project you have made linked to a song title and i have chosen Mirror Mirror by Dollar, which i think was around in 1981 if i remember correctly.  I was 17 years old and when i look back i didn't have a clue.............  Oh happy days................

The stamp is so cute and it is from LOTV and is called positively pampered.  I have coloured her with my Spectrum Noir Alcohol Pens and glittered her wings with some Glamour Dust, because of course it is the glitter geeks.    I've matted her onto some nitwit papers and plain cream card then a little decoration with ribbon, die cut flowers and leaves and a few pearls.
So get your thinking caps on and go on have a go, what have you got to lose?

I have just been looking around to see which challenges i can enter this card in too and am going to take part in the following:

Lilies Little Fairies - Peaches and Cream
The Pixie Cottage challenge - anything goes
Creative Inspirations - anything goes
Simon Says Stamp Challenge anything goes

Hope you like it.

Its my party

Hi Everyone

Last card i have made form the colouring day last Friday and this is a lotv image.  She is just like grace when she gets in a temper, i wonder where she gets that from!  Her dad!

I have used two magnolia papers i bought ages ago and added a bit ribbon and a few pearls.  The princess charm was one of graces purchases from rainton meadows craft show in jan.  She insisted i needed some charms even though i must have over 200 although i never had any princess ones, so i gave in.  She must've known it would come in handy.
Coloured with speccies as normal.

Hope you like it.

Colouring Day Out

Hi Everyone

Just a quick post to share with you the piccies of the colouring day a few of us met up for today. Pam Leng, Marcea Watkins, Margaret Brown, Rachel Brown and myself all met up at the Aston hotel to practice our colouring with speccies.

I love all of these images and only managed to colour in four from 10am til 4pm this afternoon. We had a good chat and Sara joined us from Crafters Companion so of course we sat chatting to her as well.  Next time we will have to aim to colour more instead of getting carried away chatting.

Hope you like them.

So Sweet

Hi Everyone

Its nearly a week since i have blogged, how can that have happened?  I've been so busy with work that i really haven't had the energy to come in and start making cards last week.  I think i needed to recharge my batteries.

Then today just as i had some inspiration my PC crashed and i had to start from factory settings so i have lost loads of my stuff.  Never mind i'll just build all my photos back up again and some are on facebook and some on my blog so its ok.

Today i have thought about making a card using my e-craft and i was watching Dawn Bibbys launch of her new range just recently and thought i would like to make an arch shaped card with a fence so i gave it a go today.

The card blank, the aperture, the frames, the grass, the fence and the flowers are all cut with the ecraft.  And i even cut some small clouds out and created a very subtle background of the sky with chalks.  I made the card by welding a circle and square together to get the card shape and then just copied another one and welded those two together. All of the flowers and leaves are on the fundamentals one SD card and the image is lotv and coloured with speccies.

I bought this stamp at the NEC in November and hadn't even got round to using it yet so thought it was about time.

The files SVG for the fence, grass and clouds are all from Birds cards but i am having problems with my pc at the minute and it won't go onto her blog so i will have to try again tomorrow.
Hope you like it.

Looking back on 20011

Hi Everyone

My second post of today as i really wanted to share one of my previous cards again.

I have picked this one as it was my first card i made using the spectrum noir pens and i was amazed at the results.  It was also my first attempt with alcohol pens ever as i used to colour my images with watercolour pencils, whisper pens or crystal laquers used to be my fave.  I found my old ones the other month when i finally got my own craft room and i think its about 5 years since i used them and think they have dried up.  I used to love watching Jane Nestorenko on create and craft.  I've just tried to find the blooper when Loen love coloured in an extra leg on one of Jane's images but cannot find it anywhere.  Let me know if you find it.....

This was my first lily of the valley image i coloured too.  I need to make another turquoise card i love these colours.

Hope you like it.

Festive Fairy - Purple

Hi Everyone
Well the house is a lot quieter now, Gracie has gone home and on to make some more cards for the POTW in the new year.  I've just seen that Leann has posted a very little sneaky peak and i can't wait to share mine.

Ok last festive fairy and probably the last Christmas card for a while as I'll prob not start 2012's until about November.
This card was for Kevin's mam and i choose purple as we bought her a basket of flowers in pink and purple.  coloured with speccies and the stamp is LOTV.  I had been waiting to use these pearls for a special card and felt it they were perfect for this one.

Hope you like it.

Don't forget to watch out for some sneak peeks soon.

Festive Fairy - Green

Hi Everyone

I hope you had a fab Christmas, we did.  Grace is still here and we are making some perfume at the moment so i thought i would do a quick post.  I have two more Christmas cards to post and then they will be done until next year.  A green festive fairy and a purple one.
This one was for my other sister.  Coloured with speccies and using nit wit papers, i love green.

Gracie is now shouting its not working so i better go and rescue her.
