Alva Colour

Hi Everyone

Just sharing with you today I card I have forgotten to blog about as it was shared on the Spectrum Noir Blog in February.

I found this stamp Alva Colour while browsing the web and treat myself at Christmas time I think on the Bunny Zoe website. I just love fairies and I think this goes back to when my sister and I read about the young girl who had photographs of fairies at the bottom of her garden, which of course all turned out to be fake.   It was one of the first sites I found when starting to make cards and I love it, there's so much to choose from.  The spectrum noir markers used are all listed on the blog and my card base is using, Kraft cardstock.  I've matted onto coredintations card and then used a sheet from a paper pad, Country Lady, Margaret and I shared a pack when we visited the NEC last year, so its a good way to feed my paper addiction but not have so many in my collection.  The roses and leaves are made using the same papers and card using Bitty Blossoms dies and the borders are Damask accents.

Hope you like it.

Hi Everyone

Today i am sharing you the card i made for the Crafters Companion Challenge Blog and Januaries theme is hearts.

I've used the fab new Bebunni stamp range, this one is aptly named Hearts and coloured with Spectrum Noir Pens, I've used IG1, IG2, IG5, IG7, PP1, PP3, PP5, EB1.  The die cut heart is from the Heart Doily Die set on coordination's card and the backing paper is from a nitwit collection, embossed with the A4 Patchwork Quilt folder.  The sentiment stamp is from the same stamp set and i have finished off with some white lace from my stash and a xcut paper punch.

Little Ivy

Hi Everyone

I've been so busy that's its been a whole month since I've posted and i even missed the post of my next crafty make on the spectrum noir blog.  It went up on the 16th November i think.  But, its been a busy month what with the NEC, then a demo at Graces Middlesbrough and then this weekend gone at Colemans in Rushden.  I'm not complaining, i wouldn't have it any other way...............  although i need a weekend off soon.

Sooooooooo, tomorrow Leann and i are off to the big smoke.  We've been talking about this for a while and finally have been able to fit it in.   We leave tomorrow, hopefully if the trains are running......  what a weekend to pick........  although there is always plan B if there are no trains, drive to Peterborough and drop Leanns TV samples off ready for next week and then a quick train journey into Kings cross.  i think its only about 45 mins - an hour.  So either way we will get there and I'm sure i will have some photos to share with you.

Anyway, here's my card for the Spectrum noir Christmas blog challenge November, sorry you cant enter now as its finished.  Although there is another one already up for December so i will have to be quick and share that one.

I've used a Lily of the valley image, Little Ivy, coloured with my fabby brand new Spectrum Noir Pens, colours are on the Spectrum blog.  The base is our fab new Crafters Companion Kraft Card, with red coredinations embossed using a holly embossing folder.  Hope you have one as they are all sold out although a mistletoe 6x6 is still available and would be just as good.  The patterned paper is from my stash as is the ribbon.  I've also die cut a bow using the same embossed coredinations and a stamp from the Mistletoe kisses sentimental stamp set using fired brick distress ink.
Hope you like it.

Crafters Companion Challenge Blog - Animals

Hi Everyone

Its animals as the them for this months Crafters Companion Challenge Blog and I've chosen this fab little stamp, Bambooks Favourites, coloured with Spectrum Noir Pens.  I made this card while at the glitter pot on my demo day out of bits and pieces i had been demoing with so it was a bit impromptu and not at all planned but i love it.

Ive sanded the red Coredinations after embossing with the rose garden folder and then for the centre piece i have used aged mahogany and brayered the folder before embossing some white centura pearl card,. For the card base and also for matting i have used black centura pearl card.  The flower is made using the small sunflower diesire quilling die using white neenah card.

Dont forget to pop over and take part and also take alook at the other DT members inspairation.

Hope you like it.

Friendship

Hi Everyone
A really really quick post from me today as i need to go and pack for my London trip.........  i can't wait after the match last night as Murray did amazing against Janowicz.

This card is for the July Challenge on the Spectrum noir blog challenge and this month it is friendship.

I've not coloured many Bamboo images so i chose this one party with Bamboo, coloured with spectrum noirs.  The backing paper is from the party paws papercrafting cd and a panel of coordination's using the perfect paisley embossing folder.  Then to finish i have used a sentiment stamp from the party paws range and tag die, then a few bits and pieces from my craft stash..
Hope you like it.

Crafters Companion Blog Challenge - Vintage

Hi Everyone

I so enjoyed making this card and i just love it, i keep looking at it as i walk past as i can't believe i made it as it is really different from my normal style of card.

Anyway the theme this month is vintage on the Crafters Companion Challenge Blog and i thought about colouring an image in  sepia tones with my spectrum noirs but I've a spectrum post to do as well so thought i would have a change.

I've use the 8x8 Regency Damask Embossing Folder and using corediantions card from the Nostalgia pack.  I've used Kraft card for my base and after embossing the coordination's i've used Victorian velvet distress ink around the edges of the pink core card.  Then i aged the edges of both the cream and pink card with my craft knife just scrapping gently along the edge to give that weathered look.

I've decorated with a coredinations rose with matching leaves,  that has also been edged with the Victorian velvet ink.  The sentiment is from Sheens through the Rain  stamp set and its stamped in vintage mahogany distress in onto kraft card and then matted onto the classical frame Diesire Die. (only available to club inspire members currently)   Then a little lace edging from my stash.

Pop over and join in for the chance to win a fab prize and good luck.

Hope you like it.

Luscious Landscapes with Spectrum Noirs

Hi Everyone

I'm so so busy at the minute and I'm having difficulty keeping my blog up to date.  But as i have a day off i thought i would up date it before the days fly by again.  This is one of the cards i have been making on my demo days and everyone has just been amazed at how easy it is to achieve the colouring with spectrum noirs.  Full colours and instructions are on the Spectrum Noir  blog but here is the finished card.

I've used my Spectrum Noir pensLuscious landscape Stamp, plain black card for the card base from the Centura pearl Card pack, coredinations card from the Nostalgia pack, a circle epiphany sticker and hen just finished with a sentiment, thread and a couple of brads.  The patterned paper is from a K&Co pack i had in my stash called Spring blossom, which matched perfectly with the lily pads in the image.

Hope you like it.

Crafters Companion Challenge Blog

Hi Everyone

This months Crafters Companion Monthly Blog Challenge  favourite colour combo.  Well, i have just so many i found it really hard to choose. However when it comes to colouring with my Spectrum Noirs i love a pink and grey colour combo so i have chosen this gorgeous Daydream Believer  image i coloured a little while ago but had just never gotten round to making a card.  The backing paper is from the Toreads cd  (i just love this paper) and i have used one of my new diesire dies that are only available to Crafters Companion Members currently but i think they will be on general release in the new year.

Don't forget to pop over to the blog and take part.

Hope you like it.

Hope you like it.

Craft Punked Blog Challenge - Flower Power

Hi Everyone

I cannot keep up with everything that is going on....................  Anyway here is my card for this weeks Craft Punked Blog Challenge and the theme is Flower Power.

Sooooooooooo.................  i have chosen a paper from the summer adorbales cd and some stamps i had in my stash and used dusky concord to stamp with.  I've added a little bow in a matching colour and matted onto a plain white linen card with some matching purple cordinations.  The little sentiment says each time you smile, but i think its so small its not clearly visible in the picture.

I l; love the simplicity of this card and my inspiration is from Kate Martins blog, but her 3 cards are much much better than mine.  Hope you don't mind Kate................

Beside the Sea

Hi Everyone

Today is another Craft Punked blog challenge and this weeks theme is beside the sea.  My first thought was to make a card using the lovely new SWALK image with the little boy and girl by the sea but i thought that was a bit too obvious.  So i changed my mind and used this fab little image from the Morehead Double CD ROM as when i think of beside the sea i think of Ice cream, (as well as sand, freezing cold water and harsh winds)  The backing paper also reminds me of deck chairs too and my mam and dad shouting at each other about how to put them up without nipping fingers........ oh happy days!

So i have printed and image form the cd and used coredinations and backing paper from the cd too to matt and layer.  The bunting and sentiment are all from the cd too and i used one of my punches for the border.  The image is layered onto the centre of one of the CC new dies, Enchanted Spring.

Hope you like it.

Craft Punked Blog challenge - Olympics

Hi Everyone

How quickly do Fridays come round and where is this year going, its nearly August??????

This weeks Craft Punked Blog Challenge is the Olympics and i have gone all patriotic by making a red, white and blue card and this card is how i hope the British Team will get on at the Olympics, ie Gold Medals all the way............  I am lucky enough to have tickets for the athletics and can't wait, its such a big occasion.

My image is from the Swalk range and he is coloured with Spectrum Noirs.  I've used backing papers from the Swalk CD ROM 2 and then just added a sentiment and a few brads.  Quite bright for me but i really do think i am starting to like all of these bright colours and colour mixes.

I'm scheduling this post on Tues am as i am getting ready for my trip to London with Gracie and her mam Emma.  Its tonight and she is so excited she is such a fan and i really don't know where her influence has come from ;0).  I just found out last night that LMFAO are supporting too and she has been singing I'm sexy and i know it all morning.  We've got our wellies packed and i hope it stays dry.  I should have some piccies to share with you later on in the week and when I'm back from London i'm off to Birmingham for, guess what.  Another Madonna concert.  this one is inside so it'll be less hectic i think.

Hope you like my card.

Spectrum Noir Blog Post

Hi Everyone

Its seems ages since my last post, my aim of one a day has gone out of the window but i have just been so busy and tired lately.  I was at the Doncaster Summer Crafting show over the weekend and met lots of lovely crafters so if you were there i hope you had fun.  I had such a great time and i love going to craft shows and the next one is Donnington on the 18th and 19th August and i will be there both days.

Here is my latest card for the Spectrum Noir Blog and i have coloured a Flower soft image with my Speccies this time.  Its quite a dark stamp with lots of shading already in place and i wanted to show how you can brighten a dark stamp up with bright colours.  The flowers and foiliage are just a series of dots and are really easy to do.

The frame is cut from my ecraft on coordination's and i found the svg file from Birds Cards blog and the backing paer is from the adorables summer CD ROM.  To finish i just added a few flowers and leaves and a small die cut butterfly.

Pop over to the blog for colours used.

Ok, I'm off to get my paperwork ready and bags packed for my trip to see Madonna in Hyde park tonight.  I canneeee wait, i can tell you I'm just a little bit hyper and i have just found out that LMFAO are on with her too...............  its going to be AWESOME!!!!!

Hope you like it.

Summertime

Hi Everyone

its a new Craft Punked Blog Challenge today and the them is Summertime.  Well where is it?  i think we had it back in March when we had a few really scorchio days.  My goodness i am fed up of all this rain and i am on holiday next week and really hoped it would dry and sunny for Hyde park on Tuesday at the Madonna concert as i'm taking Gracie and her Mam, Emma.  Anyway hopefully it will not be cancelled as that's what happened to Kylie and Jason.  Any way we will see and we will take waterproofs and maybe i need to go and buy some wellies.

OK enough of that now to my card.  I have used Isabella from Bugaboo digis and you could win vouchers too if you enter.  I chose this stamp as i loved the beach when i was little and went on lots of beach holidays with my family as a child.  However i hate the sand now i just really can't be bother with it and would much rather stay beside a nice clean pool.  How things change.

I've coloured her with my spectrum noirs and used coredinations behind the backing paper.  The backing paper is one that i have used for the first time and its from Jayne Nestorenko Summer Adorable cd Rom.  I have had this for a while now and not even looked at it but i love this paper.  So to keep it very summery i chose orange and the ribbon and pearls were white but i have coloured them with my spectrums.  How fab is that, they now match perfectly to my colour scheme.  The sentiment stamp is a whimsy one i think and the die i have used is a Marianne die.

Hope you like it and don't forget to enter.

Craft Punked Blog Challenge - Strawberries and Cream

Morning everyone

I have a day off work today, so i am going to do the washing up, have already washed the bedclothes and got them drying and now i am going to craft.  I have a few projects to work on and i am short on inspiration so i need to get my thinking cap on.

This weeks Craft punked challenge the is strawberries and cream and it would have been very easy for me to grab my favourite little strawberries kisses character with the strawberries in the glass but i thought no i will try something new.  So this stamp is sweet butterfly and i bought it from the craft workshop and the lovely diane where i did my demo last Saturday.  She is fab isn't she but i am not happy with my card.  I think my colouring is a bit off and I'm not happy with my embellishments.  But i do love the paper and colours.  So instead of real strawberries i went with a strawberry and cream colour theme.

I have used my Spectrum Noirs to colour and the paper is K&Co and coordination's card stock.  I have distressed the edge of my image with tea dye but i must have had some worn lipstick mixed in somewhere as it has ended up a bit red but it matches anyway.

Hope you like it and don't forget to pop over to Craft Punked and take part this week. This weeks sponsor is Joanna Sheena so you could win some fab goodies.

Hope you like it.

Craft into Christmas - Nigel may

Hi Everyone

This is my second sneak peek of Nigel's new Craft into Christmas CD and stamps.  Pop over to Nigel's blog as he is sharing lots of news and details with you over the days leading up to his launch on Tuesday on Ideal World at 9pm.

My second card is a very quick card and i used the cd this time.  Its one of the toppers and as i went with all red on my first one i have chosen all blue.  I have spray and sparkled the topper and matted onto cored and silver mirri card.  I have used a sentiment from the cd too and also used one of the embellishments but have then used my round epiphany tool to make my own epoxy sticker.  I still think my camera lens looks a bit steamed up in the top left corner as the epiphany sticker looks blurred but it isn't in real life.  I know what i will be doing for my Christmas cards, printing some of these toppers and spray and sparkling them it really does look fab close up.  he backing paper is also from Nigel's cd.

Remember to take part in the competition on the Crafters Companion News blog.

Hope you like it.

Daisy Daisy Give me an answer do.......

hi Everyone

Remember that song?  I used to love it when I was little I think my uncle used to swing me around when I was little singing this to me....

My card today is Daisy Chain from the paintbox poppets range and its my second post on the Spectrum Noir Blog so i have done a tutorial of how to colour her in.  The reason i chose this one is she is the most viewed on my blog so i thought she must be quite popular.  Anyway I love her and i find her quite easy to colour, which is why i use her on my demo's.  I tell everyone that though as i think its important when you are starting out colouring that you really do have a go and with this image everyone who i have shown has gone away and coloured her beautifully.

There are load of photos and instructions on the SN blog so pop over there for details and here is the finished card, which i really really like.  The backing papers are from the Paint Box Poppets CD ROM and I have matted onto coredinations.  Then just a little bit of decoration, not too much, and its finished.

I have scheduled this post as i should be just waking up in a lovely hotel after a lovely meal and evening with my other half.  We have suffered each other for 30 years and we drive each other mad.  I love hearing people say they have never had a cross word with their spouse after so many years of marriage, as we are the total opposite, we bicker constantly.  But we are still together and the majority of the time we don't really mean it. (I can't say all of the time as that would be a lie). We laugh together more than we bicker which is why I think we have lasted the 30 years.  And yes i know he would have or I would have been given a lesser sentence for murder.........  (that sounds awful doesn't it?)

Hope you like my card.

Sheena's New Embossing Folders

Hi Everyone

Last week at Dainty Toys I demoed Sheena's new embossing folders and they went down a storm.  These are the 3 cards I made and left for the shop and I love each one of them as they were simple to make and really effective.

This first one is using the Heavy Swirl design and I have embossed onto white plain card and used a small amount of the foiled card from the luxury card pack, I was also demoing with the swalk decoupage and daisy cards.  I added punched border under this and then finished with a piece of satin edged organza ribbon and a for you sentiment from the same range of paper crafting kits.  I think this was when my camera was steamed up with the heat but its sorted it self now as the temperature has dropped dramatically. I confess I had to put the heating on yesterday it was soooo cooooold............

For my second one i used the Daisy Folder onto coredinations card stock and stamped with my daisy stamp in brown memento and then added a stamped sentiment.  The ribbon is yellow satin edged oragnaza and i distessed the core and punched a border to finish it off.

And the last card is a blatant copy of an  Ali Watson card, so i hope she doesn't mind but when i saw hers recently i knew i had to make one with the wood folder.  Everyone was really impressed with this one at dainty especially when they knew it was just made from different size circle dies and the leaf of course.  The only little difference i have added, and it is small, is the little lady bird I had in my crafty stash that I found.  The sentiment is printed from word.

3 quick and easy cards to make with embossing folders.

Hope you like them

Glitter Geeks Blog Challenge - Super Heroes

Hi everyone

Today is the last Glitter Geeks  Blog Challenege i am so sad................  But wait...................  no we are not stopping all togther we are just changing names and a brand shiney new blog called Craft Punked.

So the last challenge theme is Superheroes and i have looked and looked for images i could use, but i really got stuck.  And i am on a crafty diet until tomorrow, my birthday' so i could not buy any new digis or anything.  So luckily i stumbled across a fab blog called the lady wolf where i found these fab FREE SVG files to use on my e-craft.

So i have used coredinations  to cut little Super Mario out and then cut the number and letters on my e-craft too.  I've also kept with the red white and blue colours to celebrate the jubilee as I'm really loving seeing these colours together, which is unusual for me as i like pastels.  I just love this card  and what's more i love Super Mario too, and can't wait to show Gracie as she is nintendo obsessed as well, .  We had one of the first Nintendo's when it came out and bought everyone that came out afterwards.  All of us have spent hours and hours trying to rescue the princess from Bowser and get to the end of the game first.  Ah happy memories............  and all the fighting and tears and shouting that went with it, ha ha ha.

Hope You like it.

And tomorrows post will be the new Crafters Companion Blog Challenge.
