Time Flies

Size #12 tag coloured with metalic distress paints, aged mahogany and black soot. Once dried distress stains added over a TH clock mask (bottom right). Clock texture fade embossed in top left corner.

Film strip stamp and numbers added using black archival.

Tim's idea-ology alpha tiles to spell out the words.

Die cut and embossed wings painted in pewter and rubbed with treasure gold. Alteration dies used to assemble the clock face.

Pewter treasure gold used over the embossing to bring out the raised parts.

A Vintage Journey have a theme of time flies and Simon Says Monday have a theme of scratched up and want to see something grungy.

Summer of Colour - Week One

Over at Twinkle, Twinkle Like a Star blog a new colour challenge has been set. There are two main colours and then a third which is meant to be a smudge, splash or pop. So the turquoise and yellow are the main colours with the hot pink, yes I did say pink, being a pop.

I had soooo many ideas running through my head, so firstly I decided on an ATB.

I coloured the box turquoise, and the panels yellow.

I stamped the LP images in black archival.

And finally added a touch of hot pink to each of the panels, but because it's over yellow paint, it looks more red than pink!!

I also wanted to use one of my new stencils. The background is brayered with turquoise and yellow paint and due to the over lapping some areas have gone green! The butterflies are stencilled through with magenta pan pastel and I added a mini peg to the body of the middle one. Ribbon is coloured with distress stains.

Same brayering technique except I started with a kraft tag which is why the yellow looks much darker. Stencilled the heart with magenta paint. Stamped the Dina Wakley collaged hearts onto a separate piece of card and cut them out. Dream is a new (to me) Clarity stamp from the word chain 5 set.

And lastly I created a master board as I wanted to use my new Hero Arts stamps.

I am sorry that it's such a long post, but you are only allowed one link up to the challenge.

Tag on Tag - PaperPlay

Deb chose the theme for June for the Paperplay swap, tag on tag, so I went with the oriental style again using the Ellen Vargo technique of adding the strips of tissue paper.

Accordion Ticket Book

Over on Simon Says Blog there is a fab project tutorial by Anna Karin using the new TH Sizzix big ticket die which you can see here. I used weathered wood, iced spruce and gathered twig distress ink for the tickets and vintage photo distress stain for the hangers.

I used frayed burlap and faded jeans distress inks to create the backgrounds using the TH classics stamp sets. I edged all the sides in walnut stain distress ink.

Added a few more elements, some tissue tape, rub ons, stamping, frameworks die cuts, distress paint, idea-ology stickers, alphabet letters and string.

***Edited*** I don't have the ticket die, I made it with my trimmer, scoreboard and punch.

CoC3 meets Yellow

I used wild honey, mustard seed, picket fence and tarnished brass distress paints to create the marbled background for the tag.  I stamped the main image from classics #17 in black archival, the row of butterflies from the same set in rusty brown stazon. The honeycomb background was stamped in mustard stazon. Tag was edged in black soot distress paint. The crinkle ribbon was coloured with mustard seed, squeezed lemonade and wild honey distress stain and stamped with some script. Metal embellies were added to finish off.

ATB - Love theme

Having looked around a few challenge posts, the theme for February seems to be moving towards 'love' what with valentines and the like, so I decided to have a go at another ATB. So after measuring, cutting and scoring, I started by colouring some packaging with a mix of barn door, festive berries and seedless preserve distress paints. For some reason after this photo they went a bit orangey as opposed to the true colours as above.

I stamped the edges of each panel with PA minis, flourishes, script and splodges in black archival ink.

I decided to use the same type of feet for the base as they are very stable and easy to attach!!

And the rest of the sides.

For the top I dyed a piece of white lace with festive berries distress stain and added a couple of small chipboard hearts.

I used little black dress and blood orange fresco to colour the Sizzix chipboard heart, covered it in a layer of rock candy crackle paste. Added a piece of hessian, tulle, a glittered heart brad and a couple of eyelets.

Wooden heart coloured with metallic distress paints and stamped in little black dress fresco.

Heart covered in a layer of rich red ranger embossing powder, then a coat of pomegranate wow powders. Wings embossed, painted in little black dress and ruby TG rubbed over the raised areas.

Two hearts mounted on a piece of black tulle and ric rac. Hearts painted in blood orange and little black dress. Two gems from Hobby House from the ruby mix selection added to smaller heart.

So the challenges I would like to enter are -
Arty Inklings - love theme, dimensional and some stamping
Hobby House - anything goes but at least 1 item from Hobby House
ABAC - Tic Tac Toe - choose a line - I have used all items except #6
Simon Says Stamp Monday - love notes

Tag Book

I wanted to play with my new Sara Naumann stamps by PaperArsty.

So decided to make a tag book.  I cut 4 tags to different sizes.

This is the full sized #8 one for the back.

I used distress paints through stencils, and brayered on distress stains.

Added various colours of distress inks and more PA stamps from the minis and LB range.

Idea-ology reinforcements and flicks of white Dylusions were added.

And finally I made a piece for the front with a mini tag attached to it.

And this is the tag book put together. You may or may not of noticed that the front piece is now the other way round. I messed up when I was punching the holes!!

PanPastelsUK have an anything goes theme this week.

Tags with new (to me) LP Stamps

Had to have a play with my new stamps. Used festive berries, fired brick and tarnished brass distress stains, to create both tag backgrounds. I added some white pencil lines to the main image.

I stamped the main image onto the tag, then again onto white card, cut some of the squares out and overlaid them.

Both of the main images are from the Lynne Perrella Acey Deucy Imperial Cargo range.

Frosty the Snowman

Over at Tag Along their theme this week is 'frosty the snowman'.

To make him 'frosty', I added some dry glitter and coloured it with salty ocean distress stain and added blue distress stickles on the buttons and the ear muffs.

I created the background using pewter, faded jeans and broken china distress stains. You can just see the pewter popping through.

Also PanPastelUk have a theme of winter wonderland using metallics and one other colour, obviously my other colour is blue.

Christmas Baubles

Alison made THIS fab card and then sent it to me for Xmas along with some wooden snowflakes so I could have a go myself. So I didn't hold back, I totally stole her idea and got straight onto playing.

Instead of using friendly plastic, I used coloured utee. I was going for a red, but when it had melted I realised it was actually orange, but not to worry!!  I painted the wooden snowflakes silver and added gold glitter and micro beads into the utee.

Don't you just love how it oozes thought those holes!!

Thanks Alison, not only for the idea, but for the snowflakes too.

I'm also entering my cards into the Arty Inklings crimble challenge.

Stampotiques challenge this week is Christmas cards in November.

CAS Tag

Having had great fun with the smudging I decided to try another one but this time I used a darker grey by mixing elephant with little black dress.

Again I used the same two smudgy pencils for the hi-lighting.

I decided to use a more open stamp and on a tag this time around. Again starting with the white down the middle as per Jo's technique here.

Then I added the black and scribbled some white over the top for a grey colour.

Gave it all a smudge.

Added some more white dashes around the outside.

And finally added a piece of linen ribbon after colouring it with iced spruce and black soot distress stains.

Simon Says Monday have a theme of got ink and are simply asking to see any type of ink on your project, I used black archival.

Country View Crafts have a theme of letters and there are lots of random letters on this tag.
