Creamy Oat Milk with Variations

Homemade organic oat milk is creamy, easy and inexpensive to whip up. A dairy-free alternative to cream  in sweet and savory dishes, smoothies, soups, curries ...... .



Ingredients:
3-4 Tbs Oat Groats, fresh milled or rolled
3-4 Tbs water (1)
250 g water (2)

Method:
  • Soak oats for 30 min with water (1) and blend with water (2) for 30 Sec / Speed 9-10

Variation: add 1/2 Tsp Coconutoil, or 2-3 drops sunflower or almond oil and mix

Ingredients:
50g Oat Groats
750 g Water (1)
1 Tbs Cashew, Almond Butter or Tahini
1 Tsp agave or rice syrup
300 g water (2)

Method:
  • Blend oats 10 Sec/ Speed 10
  • Add water (1) and heat 4 Min / 60 °C /Speed 4
  • Add water (2), nut butter or tahini and sweetener, if desired
  • Blend 30 Sec / Speed 9 and strain

Ingredients:
50 g Oat Groats
750 g Water
2 Dates, soft and chopped
1 TBS Almond Butter


Method:
  • Mill oats 1 Min / Speed 10
  • Add warm and warm 5 Min / 37 °C / Speed 4
  • Add dates and almond butter
  • Blend 1 Min / Speed 9-10 and strain

Ingredients:

75 g Raw Oat Groats - soaked in water for 12 - 24 hours
1 l  Water

Method:

  • Rinse oat groats and blend with water for 1 Min / Speed 10
  • strain with nut milk bag or cheese cloth for milk or leave as is for smoothies
Variation:
Blend strained oat milk with 15 g almond oil, a pinch of Himalayan salt and vanilla powder


 


Hafermilch

Eine milchfreie cremige Alternative fuer Suppen, Sossen, Curries, Mixgetraenke oder pur trinken in verschiedenen Varianten
  
Zutaten:3-4 EL Hafer, Koerner oder geflockt
3-4 EL Wasser (1)
250g Wasser (2)

Zubereitung:

  • Hafer mit  Wasser (1) ca. 30 Min. einweichen und mit Wasser (2) fuer 30 Sek / Speed 9-10 durchmixen
Variante:
  1. evtl. 1/2 TL Kokosoel oder 2-3 Tropfen Sonnenblumen-oder Mandeloel mitmixen
  2. ganze Haferkoerner ueber Nacht einweichen

Zutaten:


50 g Hafer
750 g Wasser
1 EL Cashew- oder Mandelmus oder Tahini
1 TL Agave- oder Reissirup
300 g Wasser

Zubereitung:

  • Hafer 10 Min /Stufe 10 mahlen
  • Wasser zugeben 5 Min./100°C/Stufe 1-2 aufkochen
  • Datteln zugeben 10 Sek./Stufe 6 und 10 Sek./Stufe 9 mixen
  • Nussmus, Agavesirup und zusaetzlich 300ml Wasser zugeben, 10 Sek./Stufe 5 verruehren und durchsieben
Variante: geflockten Hafer 10 Sek / Stufe 10 mahlen

Zutaten:
50 g Haferkoerner
750 g Wasser
2 Datteln, soft and chopped
1 TBS Mandelmus


Zubereitung:
  • Hafer 1 Min / Stufe 10 mahlen
  • Wasser zugeben und 5 Min / 37 °C / Stufe 4 erwaermen
  • Datteln und Mandelmus zugeben
  • 1 Min / Stufe 9-10 und durchsieben

Zutaten:

75 g Haferkoerner - eingeweicht in Wasser fuer 12-24 Std
1 l Wasser

Zubereitung:

  • Gespuelte Haferkoerner mit Wasser fuer 1 Min / Stufe 10 mixen
  • durch Kaeseleinen oder "Nutmilkbag" fuer Milch filtern oder ungefiltert fuer Smoothies weiter verarbeiten
Variation:
Mit 15 g Mandeloel, gemahlener Vanille und 1 Pr. Himalajasalz mixen

Silk-Dyed Eggs







Easter is around the corner and I was dreaming: Martha Stewart, Oprah and I steaming some coloured eggs...lol. Too bad, she knows already about this technique.
My friend Hans shared almost 3 years ago his Family-Easter-Eggs-Dyeing-Event with me. They wrapped eggs with ugly, old pieces of silk from ties/scarves/old blouses and placed them in boiling water with vinegar. The silk was reused the other year.
I'm going to show this technique some TMX-Users and better check out the Thrift Store. My husband is not too happy to give more of his ties away.
Now, this is my way using the Varoma and the Thermomix:

Ingredients:
Raw Eggs ( room temperature)
100% Pure Silk Ties - lining removed
Yarn
Oil

Method:
  • Cut silk in pieces -large enough to cover one egg- and moisten them with water
  • Wrap silk -right side/print facing- with yarn around the eggs
  • Place in the Varoma, add 800 ml of water in the TM-bowl and steam for 2o min/Varoma/speed 1
  • Rinse under cold water and remove silk from cooled eggs
  • Wipe them -for shiny eggs- with some Coconut Oil or any other oil

  • 20 Min/Varoma/Stufe 1 garen
  • kalt abspuelen, abwickeln, einfetten und fertig
