Hello Winter

Hi everyone!

ATC Around the World is looking for Winter Birds.
Here's what I came up with.

There was that sheet of paper from a failed alcohol ink experiment that had been lying around in my stash for ages.  I almost threw it away, but I thought it might come in handy someday.
While rummaging around for the winter bird challenge, my gaze fell on that ugly sheet again. I immediately noticed that the blue spots looked like birds! So the idea was to stamp birds on the spots, and I found two matching ones right away!

I colored a few areas, such as the wings, bellies, and beaks, with acrylic paints and alcohol ink markers. Colored the lower part of the ATC with white acrylic paint to depict snow. Stamped small dots on the right edge and then splattered white ink onto the ATC.

Finally, I stamped the word “Winter” and tore it along the outline. I wanted it to look like a big, fluffy snowflake. LOL  I glued it on and then stamped the word “Hello” on top.

Can you see the two birds too?

Thanks for stopping by!

Beware!

Hi everyone!
Time for a new challenge at the Dream Factory
Our movie for this month is:

COCO

Anything related to the
Day of the Death and/or Halloween

No skulls, no skeletons, no ghosts, and not even well equipped for Halloween in terms of design paper.
What do you do in cases like this? Well, you do your best!
Luckily, I at least had a few pumpkins, a spider, a spider web, and a black cat. That's not too bad for a start... lol
I drew the skull with the candle by hand. It turned out that it's not that difficult to draw a skull :))
I colored in the pumpkin and the skull with the candle using alcohol ink markers. I cut them out and stuck them onto a gel print tag that I found in my stash. I also added half a flower, which I stamped onto designer paper and cut out.
The spider, cat, branch, and spider web were stamped directly onto the tag.
Finally, I stamped the word “ Beware!” and attached a thin cord to the tag.

Best Wishes

Hi everyone!

I am delighted and honored to be a guest designer at A Place to Start for the months of June and July.
The theme for June is

ANYTHING GOES w/OPTIONAL TWIST:
Recycle

I'm a big tea drinker, so I recycled one of these bags, to stick to the twist of the challenge.

First, I laid the open bag flat and coated it with a layer of gesso. After drying, I stamped the flowers and leaves, then colored them with Posca pens and alcohol ink markers. I also added some golden accents to the flower petals.
I then created the background with blue, white, red and black acrylic paint and left to dry. I stamped the sentiment on the teabag label. Glued the teabag and label on a blank card, then stamped a background pattern in both corners of the card. Hope you like it.

The contents of the teabags are also recycled, which makes my plants and vegetables happy! 🌻🍅😎

Hope to see you play along at A Place to Start ...

Katzelkraft - Coffee makes me ....

Hi everyone!
It's Katzelkraft day. Here's my project for this week.

I stamped the gorilla on a gel print. Cut out his face and chest and pasted him onto a second print on which I had only colored the cut-out areas. I put a crown embellished with rhinestones on his head and a cup of coffee in his hand. I stamped the quote with alphabet stamps, cut the words into labels and then pasted everything onto an ATC-sized piece of scrap paper, which I'd previously backed with black card stock.

Hope you like it. - See you next Tuesday with a new Katzelkraft creation! :)

Katzelkraft - Cup of Tea

Hi everyone!
It's Katzelkraft day. Here's my weekly project.
This time I opted for an ATC.

I stamped the cat, colored it with Aqua markers and cut it out. Stuck it on a background from my gel print stash and wrote the quote around the image with a fine liner. I finished by backing the ATC with black cardstock.

Hope you like it. - See you next Tuesday with a new Katzelkraft creation! :)

Katzelkraft - The purr-fect crime?

Hi everyone!
I'm back with a new Katzelkraft card! ...showing two more new stamps! :))

I had actually made this background for another card, but in the end I didn't like it at all, at least not for the card it was intended for. For today's card, however, I thought it was super cool! It's a bit dark, but let's assume the little detective is investigating the crime scene at night.

I first painted the black background with gesso, leaving the edges blank.
After the gesso was dry, I placed a small amount of dark blue and yellow acrylic paints on the card. I spread these over the card with the help of an old credit card. On the still wet yellow stripe, I put a little bit of red paint and mixed it with the yellow to get the orange. I let everything dry well and then added splotches of red, white and black paint. - Let it dry again.

I stamped the VespaVespa once on the card and once on Bristol paper. Colored it with alcohol ink markers, cut it out and glued it to the card.
For the detective, on the other hand, I used the paper piecing technique. I stamped the hat and coat on Design paper, the cat on Kraft paper and the shirt on Bristol paper. I then cut everything out and glued the parts back together. Lightened the face, paws and tail with a white pastel crayon. Colored the tie with red. Stamped the detectiv onto the card and added the one I'd paper pieced.
Finally, I added the sentiment which is part of the detective stamp and made a couple of white gel pen lines on the Vespa.

It sounds like a complicated card, but it's not!

Hope you like it. - See you next Tuesday with a new Katzelkraft inspiration! ;)
